"It does feel like the end of an era."
stephenamell : For me⌠August 3rd, 2012 is the most important day in the history of our show. It was the first day I worked with Emily. Her energy and the vibrancy she gave to Felicity Smoak is only surpassed by what she personally gave to me. She was a co-worker that became a best friend. So on the first day of our last episode together, Iâd like everyone to know how deeply I appreciate the past seven years. We wouldnât be here without you. I love you. And I cannot wait to see what you do next.
Frack⌠I didnât know it was only 22 episode this seasonâŚ
Sadly yes @nalla-madness

Mia's Secret Existence
Future William mentioned loosing contact with Zoe in 7x04. After all that happened, he found it easier not to reply to Zoeâs communications. What event was William talking about?
How will Arrow explain Dinah and Williamâs lack of knowledge of Felicityâs pregnancy? Will Felicity leave the City before she starts to show and have her baby in hiding, and thatâs why no one knows of Miaâs existence?
I donât think so. Felicity would never give up on Oliver that easy. Â
Have you ever heard of the first trimester home-stretchers? Some like to keep things private in the event of a loss, they keep the news under wraps until the risk of miscarriage drops dramatically, which happens at the end of the first trimester, around 12 weeks. Thatâs why this is such a common time for the Baby Announcement.
So assuming Olicity follows that rule, the timing will coincide with the season finale of 7x22. What if Olicity never gets a chance to tell anyone other than John Diggle? What if by 7x22 Oliver and Felicity leave Star City, and loose or cut-off communication with everyone else?
Mia was obviously raised in Star City with JJ. So something happened for everyone to loose contact?
The Mark of 4 is the only thing yet to happen that correlates to the present story. What if between 7x14 and 7x22 Roy comes back and rejoins the team. Oliver designs the tattoo based on his family of 4. They get them done, but something happens before the 12 weeks pass.
What if the mayor revokes the teams immunity, strips them of their police badges, and all the vigilantes have to stop vigilante activity OR become fugitives and go into hiding? Â
Rene chooses to stop and gets into Glades politics. Dinah goes into hiding and forms her Canaries. Roy gets banished to Lian Yu. Diggle returns to ARGUS. But what if Oliver has no choice but to continue? What if he has to become a fugitive from the law and Felicity goes with him temporarily until she has the baby? What if they go physically and digitally dark to avoid capture? Then no one will know anything about them or anyone else?
Every Arrow season ending since season 3 has had some form of team breakup. So it follows that by 7x22, team Arrow will be no more again.
But still why would they keep it from William? After all he is family? I think they do it because William is under close surveillance from the powers that be, in an attempt to catch Oliver. So they keep him in the dark too. I think that is the event that William and Dinah keep talking about. The anti-vigilante laws being enforced, the team members becoming fugitives and going into hiding.
Until the crossover, and Oliverâs presumed death, which coincides with the due date of Mia. Having Oliver presumed dead by the world, Felicity no longer has to hide.
I think the fact that Felicity was never issued a badge, nor joined the police force, was never outed by Stan or granted immunity from the mayor, gives her and Curtis an anonymity from vigilante hunters and anti-vigilante law enforcers and keeps her clear of any legal pursuit. That is why Miaâs last name was kept Smoak. Her connection to Oliver was being kept secret. That is how Felicity could still come back to he city after the crossover and continue building Smoak Technologies.
Maybe Oliver doesnât die, and they just use Oliverâs assumption of death to end the hunt for him. Maybe Oliver comes back to Star City and is actually alive and in hiding with Mia and becomes old-man Oliver hiding in the bunker from 2046?
Dinahâs perception of Felicity going dark is probably explained by the low profile Felicity kept after she got back to try to maintain the secrecy. Felicity probably just focused on Smoak Tech; which would have been Felicityâs public persona, her mask, that she uses to hide her daughterâs identity and her husbandâs vigilante life.Â
Basically she does what Oliver did in 2x01.
@almondblossomme I was thinking that Oliver and Felicity might end up leaving at the end of the season to protect the baby. Or go on the run. So I like this.
I tried different iterations of this scenario. Â
The mayor holding immunity badges over their heads and Dinah being revealed as the BC must have a role to play in her future status of being a fugitive vigilante.Â
Repeat the 7x12 ending without the mayor giving them breaks, but this time Oliver doesnât have his familyâs approval to turn himself in, so yes they run.Â

Mia: Youâre not gonna shoot meâŚ
Felicity, let me introduce you to your daughter, Mia.;-DÂ I love how Felicity has her hand on her stomach in the last Gif.Â
Nicely done @andjustforthismoment
I find it interesting how people think Olicity having a baby will distract them off their mission, especially Felicity!!
You canât be more wrong.
No offence to non-parents, but every parent knows: nothing makes you more determined to fight for a better world more than the thought of having children grow up in that world.
Ignorance, politics, and economics aside, having children, makes you a warrior for a better world. Â
Itâs in the process of evolution, our species is programmed in their DNA to fight for their progeny to survive!Â
Having children will only spur Oliver and Felicity to continue even more in their mission, because itâs no longer about the City, its about the legacy they leave behind for the children they are bequeathing the City to.
Iâm his father, Frank. â By blood, maybe.

Iâm Mia Smoak
My name is Mia Smoak, Iâm Felicityâs daughter, and your sister.
Is Maya the Olicity baby David Ramsey was talking about?
I canât help ask? Am I the only one who sees the resemblance Katherine McNamara has with Emily? She is going blonde for Arrow; add blue contacts and she would make the perfect future Olicity child.
According to TVline, Maya, is a scrappy street fighter and thief from Star City. The initial casting notice for the character likened the character to âBuffy the Superhero Slayerâ with a tragic past.
Behind the scenes, Stephenâs bearded double was seen practising a fight scene with a girl archer double.
Could Arrow be copying Flash and the Olicity daughter comes back in time to help save her dad. I mean if something bad were to happen to her parents that would explain the tragic past; and the superhero slayer.. definitely Oliver and Felicityâs daughter!
Stephen said in his Rosenbaum pod cast that he wanted Oliver to have a legacy. A Green Arrow daughter to hand the mantle to would be the perfect legacy. In a world were Captain Marvel is a woman and Batwoman is being launched, why canât the second generation Green Arrow be a girl?
And it would simply explain that David Ramsey was giving the best clue ever and telling the truth when he said Olicity Baby. It is very clever because Beth would not have lied either since we actually donât get a pregnancy or a crying baby and the reveal would never come right away; not until we meet her and get to know her.

Just bringing this back! Written September 28, 2018! YES!Â
It feels good to be right!
Funny enough, they hired her to play a slayer, then revealed her true identity in an episode called The Star City Slayer! Â
Nice play on words Beth!

She's "excited" and "trepidatious" about fan reactions
[Warning: The following contains spoilers for the latest episode of Arrow.]
Weâve already done the disclaimer thing above, but seriously, if you havenât watched Arrowâs latest episode, Mondayâs âStar City Killer,â youâre about to read one of the biggest spoilers of your life, so this is your last chance to turn away. All good?
OK.
OMFG, Blackstar is actually Mia Smoak (Katherine McNamara), the secret daughter of Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) and Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards)! Fans may have guessed this was the case, but finally having it confirmed is still just so awesome. After getting into a bit of a scuffle with William (Ben Lewis) and his crew, Mia was finally forced to reveal that she wasnât Felicityâs killer, she was actually her daughter.
Although we may have gotten an answer about who she is, we now have a new handful of questions about Miaâs life, her relationship with her parents (why do you go by Smoak, Mia?) and whether or not Felicity could actually be alive in the flash-forwards after all. TV Guide caught up with McNamara to discuss all of this and more. Keep reading to see what she had to say!
You obviously have experience with passionate fandoms thanks to Shadowhunters, but were you still a little intimidated taking on the role of the child of a couple that is so beloved by the Arrow fandom? Olicity Baby has its own hashtag at this point. Katherine McNamara: 100 percent! I remember when I first found out. Beth [Schwartz], called me a few weeks after I was cast because of course they werenât revealing this in the sides. Everything â they were dummy sides. It was a completely different character description for a rookie cop of all things. So Iâm gearing up to play this really straight-laced character who really kicks butt and all this, and suddenly Beth calls me and goes, âOh, by the way, congrats on joining the show, um, everything you know is a lie. Youâre actually Oliver and Felicityâs daughter and there you go. Congrats!â Iâm going, âWait, Iâm sorry â pause, rewind, replay. What am I doing?â
The Shadowhunters fandom and the Arrow fandom have always been very closely connected, so Iâve seen the massive support for Olicity from day one, and now having watched the show, I completely get it. Iâm completely on board as well, but now having to fill those shoes, those are two very large pairs of shoes to fill. On top of that they say, âYeah, we want her to physically resemble and have the characteristics of Stephen and have the intellect and tact of Emilyâs character.â And Iâm sitting there going, âWait, how soon do I have to do the salmon ladder? When do I have to look like Stephen Amell? Because I need some time for this.â But itâs been really lovely and both Stephen and Emily have been really amazing. Itâs been such a collaborative, wonderful process and Iâm truly honored to be taking on this responsibility.
Are you excited to see how Olicity fans react to your big unveiling? McNamara: I am equal parts excited and a little trepidatious just because I know how strong the opinions of the fandom are. A lot of people have figured it out already, so Iâm not too nervous, but you never know. I respect the fandom, and I really want them to be happy with this choice and with the way Iâve been bringing this character to life. I think they will be because the showâs done a great job of putting it all together. Iâm excited to see what happens.
How much did you try to incorporate Felicity and Oliverâs traits into this character? Because youâre trying to create some truth in her identity, but youâre also trying to keep her identity under wraps. McNamara: Exactly! Well, as much as possible. A lot of thatâs been helped by the dialogue and the situations that Mia has been put in. I did a lot of research. I did as much as I could. You know, the wikiâs online about the comic characters and I had a few months to watch the entire series, so Iâve watched all six â and now six and a half seasons â of the show just to try and pick up on any mannerisms or characteristics or ways of walking into a room or ways they handle certain situations just so I can find those little nuggets that will really make it real for the fans and for all of us.
How much will we learn about Miaâs upbringing and what her relationships with Oliver and Felicity are like? McNamara: I canât say much about that, but what I can say is that the next few episodes â and I still donât know everything because weâre still shooting Season 7 right now â but from what I know, the next few episodes reveal quite a bit about Mia and how she was raised and why she is the way she is and why sheâs so gosh darn angry all the time. A lot of that has to do with her upbringing and how she was raised, being this kid. A lot of it has to do with the relationship with her parents and that plays very heavily into who she became.
Would you say Mia takes after Oliver or Felicity more? McNamara: It depends on the situation and from which perspective you look. Physically, she very much takes after Oliver. Sheâs extremely aggressive in that she takes on situations from the point of offense before defense, and she will take you down before you can take her down, in a heartbeat. Emotions arenât necessarily her forte. She much more prefers to deal with things on an intellectual or physical level rather than an emotional level because she has trouble dealing with emotions, which we will discover very quickly. But thatâs where she lies on the Oliver spectrum. But she has quite a bit of tact. Sheâs very quippy, very witty, very clever in the sense that Felicity is. Itâs very indicative of her childhood, which we do get to see in a few episodes, which will be a lot of fun.
Now that William knows theyâre brother and sister, can we expect their dynamic to shift moving forward? McNamara: It changes everything for both of them and whether thatâs for better or for worse we will find out soon.
When can we expect to start piecing together this mystery of why no one seems to recognize her for who she is? And does that play into this bigger mystery of how Star City ended up this way? McNamara: We start to get little pieces in this episode. Mia doesnât even have all of the pieces herself, but as things start to unravel and as information gets shared, more and more gets revealed as they get closer and closer to figuring out what this message that came to the HĹzen means. Now that they have more people that have more information, it starts to all build. What it really does is, it shows you how dire the world has become and really the ruin that has come to Star City to force to Felicity and Oliver to go to these lengths to protect their children.
Mia has said she thinks vigilantes were the death of Star City and they got what they deserved. Considering we now know her parents were two of our favorite vigilantes, how did she wind up being so anti-vigilante? McNamara: She has a very specific perception of vigilantes based on her experience as well as based on the information she had as a kid [and] whatâs sheâs learned since being on her own. All of that has come together â plus her own personal struggles and pain and hurt that sheâs experienced â it all comes together to form this very strong feeling of animosity towards vigilantes and this almost vengeful resentment of them.
Do you think Felicity could truly still be alive, or is this just wishful thinking or denial on Miaâs part to admit that her mom is dead? McNamara: I mean, at this point, she has really no information. I think at this point in the story she is operating on a blind hope that her mother is not dead. Given that their relationship doesnât seem to have resolved on the best of terms, she would probably like to resolve that.
We know Episode 16 is a completely flash-forward episode, so what can you tease about how weâll learn from spending so much time in the future? McNamara: I just finished shooting that last week and that is really, really wonderful. I cannot wait for people to see it because that is probably the episode in which you get the most answers and you get to see quite a bit of Miaâs childhood as well as some really key moments that shaped who she became and how she got to be a fighter and how she got to be this really hardened person that she is.
