❝Well...❞ he took a deep inhale. He almost looked like he was out of breath...

❝I listened. I asked. And I will say, he uhm... He has some interesting thoughts. N- not that I'm complaining, of course. No, why would I? I just never knew that we...❞ he paused, a small smile coming to his face. Not genuine and happy... but unnerving. Lovesick.

❝... That we thought so much alike.❞

His answer is almost instant. Breathed out and faint. Almost... uncertain. A quieter breath follows, uneven, like he’s choosing his next words more carefully than he should have to.

❝Not… a thing.❞

His jaw shifts slightly, gaze unfocused for half a second before it sharpens again.

❝I'll, uhm—❞

Another pause—longer this time. His voice drops, softer, a little strained:

❝I'll file in a stolen item report so the other tenants know to keep an eye out... It wasn't anything important, was it? Nothing you'd need back fast?❞

I say we snatched him up and keep him together :)

❝I've been thinking of that. But the last thing I'd want to do is scare him. Even if he looks so goddamn beautiful with eyes shot wide...❞

He's watched James' sessions plenty of times before. But this one was different. This time, James had something of his. And he couldn't get himself to look away for even a second, a hand coming up to gently cover his mouth.

❝God, Help me, He's so fucking loud... maybe he wanted me to find him like this. Maybe...❞
