Once again, I sit here trying to find motivation to get up and create some positivity through my writing, but I can't. Again, we witness another day where black lives are mere playthings for politicians, police officers, and white privileged individuals who scream "all lives matter" and find excuses to justify their racism; simply because they "sat next to a black kid in grade school." Im tired of crying, tired of hurting, tired of not being heard, but they try to spark outrage. We can't silently protest "it's offensive, it's ineffective". We can't violently protest "it's dangerous, it's ineffective". I'll say this. We can't be silent anymore. So if you've read this far, I don't want your sympathy. "I'm sorry" is one of the most overused phrase in the English language and it's not an excuse to get away with shit. Colonials pushed out Native Americans took their land, women, food and realized it was wrong. - I'm sorry. As consolation, here's the land we aren't using. Captured hundreds and thousands of people of color. Demonized them, forced them into slave labor, separated them from their family, tortured them, demoralized them for centuries- I'm sorry. As consolation, here's a black president. Don't worry, we won't pass his bills though. Quit saying I'm sorry and justifying your racism. If you're talking, you can't listen. Take a moment, shut the fuck up right quick, and listen to our pain. Together we can find a way through this madness and find a place of peace, but until then just listen and acknowledge that Black Lives Matter. If you can't acknowledge that much... SPOILER ALERT!
