I got to hang out with Omar a while back. He’s a friend who works on New York City’s Upper West Side. He brought me to his neighborhood and showed me around his apartment, these are some of the stills I took during my time there.

Here's a photo series of two brothers I've had the pleasure of getting to know this year. Holmes (the top two photos) is my roommate and is getting married next year. His older brother, Forrest was in my Bible study along with his wife Alyssa. He crashes on our couch every few weeks. They have taught me what it means to speak with conviction and how to ask people hard questions even if it's uncomfortable. I'll always enjoy staying up late, sharing a pipe with them and listening to their stories of growing up together in central Texas.

Dogs in cars. This is another frequent occurrence in Austin I'm not used to...but can't get enough of. 

Pedicab Life

One thing that stands out to me in Austin is the convenience of Pedicabs. In New York this form of transportation seems only reserved for tourists and couples. Not only are they overpriced, but more inconvenient than walking, which is why it's more of a novelty experience. After walking around downtown Austin for a few hours, sweaty and dehydrated, I realized why they are so commonplace. Only a few minutes went by after I finished speaking with the guys in the first photo when one of them passed me with two passengers in his backseat.
