But his evidence was itself authored by AI: Pangram’s namesake product is an AI tool that purports to “detect AI-generated content with 99.98% accuracy.” It classified 78.3% of Ms. Ballard’s book as AI-generated, although if you dig into its analysis you will find that for many passages it indicates only “medium confidence” in that assessment.

First, I am fine. Everything is fine. I’m not very active on social media so apologies for not thinking to write anything until now.

Writing for me has traditionally been a very one-way street so I obviously was not thinking of updating anyone about my work lol. 

Got a lot of messages. There’s a lot of editing going on thanks to my beta readers. I realised as I did editing for a chapter previously lots of people got multiple emails I didn’t want to spam anyone with that.

Also I gave myself v. minor tennis elbow in the gym (so embarrassing). Doing lots of typing is up in the air. I also have time off after my massive work project so will be travelling and planning to enjoy that.

Sat with them today and every time they had draft a section would just throw it into a generator. Then I would have to spend 15 minutes re-editing whatever it developed because it was wrong.

Doesn’t matter. They found a solution. I’m gonna be working 10+ hours every day till the project is due because I just have to rewrite it all.
