After everything that has transpired this last chapter, does Aemond still see Jace as competition or does he feel assured now?

I think Aemond sees Jace as a nuisance haha. He thinks Arianne wants to marry Jace because he's the heir after Rhaenyra, not because Jace might be better than him. 😅 But Arianne did kind of confess while they talked around bonfire. It's just they're both emotionally repressed idiots.

You reminded me I need to update tumblr chapter because I fixed lots of spelling mistakes on ao3.

She looked more pained her original plan failed when he killed the dude, and conflicted that she had to dirty her hands and do it herself rather than the fact that she killed her own son who obviously loves her.

Season 3 decided to treat him horribly to the point I'm no longer interested in finishing the show, except for Aegon&Tyland&Baela&Gwayne.

If only we could have gotten a real genuine Aemond and Alicent hug like that without the weirdness… like if we just diregard this season entirely (as I prefer to do) and look at their relationship the way it was established in season one, that interaction felt very true to Aemond’s character. He’s her son and even though he’s done so much awful things for a war that they both took part in starting, he still cares for her and understands the sacrifices she had to make to raise him… but they just can’t connect normally because having him was never Alicent’s decision and Aemond probably always knew that…

Alicent saying ”I have failed you”, and him replying ”Never” was such a sad moment as well, and felt even sadder knowing it was all just a dream in the end. And worst of all, that Aemond’s love for his mother was ultimately used to sexually assault him

Will just repeat what I wrote in the comments:

Sometimes I question the writers' intentions because if they meant to make him creepy in ep7... I actually find his character more tragic now. He got sexually assaulted AGAIN by someone else. Then they made me feel bad for Aemond a few times, ESPECIALLY when he confessed to Alicent on Aegon. I think it's the most human we have seen of him. And then Alicent proceeds to poison him... and I am supposed to side with Alicent??? I am not sure if it was Ewan's acting that made him sympathetic to me but I just can't tell what the writers' aim was.

I am convinced Aemond will go through a final vision as he is "dying" in episode 8 and probably find out about Alicent's betrayal. This, along with his reunion with Vhagar, I am curious if he will stay at Harrenhal or start burning the Riverlands (finally). We'll see, I guess.

Baela and Alyn are couple in F&B but Alyn is Addam's younger brother and Baela's age. He also sort of serves as her escape from Regents marrying her off to an old dude.

Not sure why the show decided to make him like 30 and then have them randomly kiss when they didn't let Jace and Baela share a single romantic moment even before the big battle they went to fight together.
