Yeah. Unfortunately, it's not for a good reason. They were adultified at home, being forced to take care of themselves and their brothers by their neglectful mother. So they jump at any chance to be taken care of instead and get to act their age. Or maybe younger, I don't know what a normal childhood is like :')

Unfortunately, this also makes them more vulnerable to Flowey because they are more than happy to let someone else take the lead.

YAPPING TIME

For MY interpretation of Flowey, his feelings towards them varies quite a bit based on his own unregulated emotions and how they act. At best, he feels some fondness for his human. Pride for how he's been able to shape them, investment in this pet project to the point he almost forgets that they aren't any more "real" than anyone else.

Side note: This might be controversial, but in my AU, Clover has him come up with a pet name for them when they're fake dating. Of course, the first idea he had was just "pet" because being bad at names runs in the family. Which works because Clover thinks it's affectionate, when in reality it just shows how he will never see them as an equal. They are an animal to train, a tool to use. Affection towards them is the carrot, violence towards them is the stick. (Which is true in canon UTY, I just take it farther.)

At worst, Clover is "that fucking human I hate". A living stress toy he can take all his trauma his anger out on. Something that deserves what he does to them because it's their fault for being so weak. That he can reenact what he went through, as if seeing someone else suffer will make it hurt less. (It doesn't.)

As for "how much" he feels? More than he's comfortable with, considering his insistence that he doesn't "feel ANYTHING about ANYONE". It just manifests in...interesting ways.

Why does he want to know everything about them? Why does he spend hundreds of runs with them, seeing every single choice they can make? Why does he want to keep them to himself? Why does he want them to be so devoted to him that no one else matters? Why does he want to rip them apart over and over so he knows every way they scream? Why does he want to push them to the edge, break them in every way possible?

Why does he want their soul? Uhhh totally just to be more powerful or whatever. Totally not so he could completely possess them, having them in a way no one else is allowed to, making them a part of himself forever hahaha no way
