someone in the crowd.

Drink in hand, Kitty floated across the open spaces of the house that she was currently in - her best friend’s house. It was the usual Friday night party that Jesse would throw and it was very familiar for the girl - same people, same music, same lame dancing in the middle of the living room. As much as Kitty loved the parties that were thrown, she was tired of the monotony of it all, but as the captain of the cheer squad she wasn’t allowed to miss any of the parties that were thrown, she had a reputation to protect and at least she had alcohol to make it through the night.
The blonde had been dancing with Jesse when she noticed a beautiful brunette from across the room - one that she had never seen before. Their eyes met and she instantly felt this pull toward the girl that she had never experienced before. It was as if they were on two ends of a rope and she gravitated toward the girl before she stopped in her tracks when one of the McKinley losers wrapped his arm around her. She rolled her eyes and took a sip of her drink - but she kept her eyes on the girl. When she pulled away and headed out back, Kitty didn’t immediately follow. Instead, she kind of just watched the girl from the house until she needed to talk to her.
She put the red solo cup on the kitchen counter and headed to the back where there wasn’t anybody out there besides a few drunk idiots and the girl she had come looking for. Heading to the pool chairs, she took a seat next to the girl as she looked over at her. My God she is even more beautiful in person, Kitty thought. “I take it you’re not really a high school party kind of girl, huh?” she said, keeping her eyes on the girl. “It’s okay I’m not either but I kind of live here so I have to be into them, you know?” She was nervous and felt like she was already making a fool of herself and that is so unlike Kitty Wilde.
Marley hadn’t realized her eyes were locked on the ground until she heard a voice close to her, too kind to be one of the boys that followed her outside and too patient to be one of the other girls telling her to stop pouting. She looked over to meet eyes with the blonde again, only this time much closer. From across a room full of loud, drunk, basically faceless strangers, it was hard to tell just how beautiful she was. She looked like someone that could be on the face of a magazine, or star in a movie. Never the type of person to talk to her, never the type of person she’d be alone with.
It took a moment for the star struck to fall from her face, replaced with a small smile. If she was lucky, the girl wouldn’t have seen the shock. “Am I that obvious?” Marley joked with a small shrug, turning toward her. The first time someone was talking to her, not just at her -- it was refreshing.Â
Marley twisted her fingers together, untwisting them as she searched for the right things to say. This was supposed to be her time to be cool, to be normal. “This is where you live?” Marley looked back at the house, still seeing people through the windows. The idea of hosting something that this was unimaginable, but she seemed like an unimaginable person to be sitting next to. In a good way. “That means that this is your party, your friends?” Marley released a sigh, looking back at the girl next to her. Even outside and at night, Marley could feel a small warmth inside of her. “I can’t imagine, being around things like this all the time.”
