If I’m ever in a bad mood or having a rough day…I just watch this video and it cheers me up. I laugh for a number of reasons…

I laugh because I wonder how I didn’t end up on the hospital after trying this.

I laugh because I finally realized there is a time in your life (after age 25) that you don’t try stupid stuff like this anymore.

The lights come up

And it’s time to go home

…alone

cold streets, quiet alleys

a walk home full of sad thoughts

an empty bed

a lonely morning cup of coffee

welcome calm

a wry smile creeps across my face.

The train rolls into the station

Now what are we going to do?

After you showed up…univited

I do have other friends, ya know

We had plenty of places to go

Until you got here

Now we’ll just stay

And waste our day away

At least until you leave. 

Leaves falling

Waves crashing

Sounds carrying

Across windswept plains

and white-capped oceans

A friendship carved from birth

Conversations over pre-dawn coffee

A three-legged dog who can talk but won’t listen

A car that flies with the help of Dumbo

A gigantic bowl of soup that you can swim in

Heartache and heartbreak

Laughing at yourself at the most inopportune time.

A jagged edge that protrudes from the west.

A perfectly made up bed for an uninvited guest.

An under-cooked meal.

An obnoxious seal.

Planning things too far in advance. 

A waste of time to take the chance.

Meeting somebody unique.

Working out your obliques.

All for not?

Take an afternoon nap on a cot.

Letting your brain rot.

Inducing creative thoughts out of a bland person.
