As we come to the end of the year 2016,its good to take time and reflect upon the year that was. Take a look at your accomplishments and thank the Almighty, take a look at your shortcomings and look for ways to curb them as you step into a new year. Above all thank God for having finished another year, there are many who would have wanted to see the new year,many who had plans for the next year…

Ever since I was born, I have never seen many people arrive late to the airport, when they’re traveling overseas. In fact, even when it’s raining,and the plane is taking-off at 11:00pm, this person will put on gumboots, Rain-coat or an Umbrella, and use every means available, be it a motorbike,or a 4 wheel drive, to be at the airport by 7:00pm, as he awaits his flight…wow! That’s how much people…

Although it was put out so bluntly..and a lil harsh …i seem to find some truth in this..especially the part where people seem to worship their pastors more than God..(1st commandent..you shall worship no other God but me) Do we make our pastors like ‘gods’ in our lives? Point to ponder..

Back to the days

I want to go back to the days, not the days when lived in grass thatched houses and wore hides and skins, no… but back to the days….

Back to the days when there was a distinction between wrong and right, black and white, and not this shade of grey

The days when a wrong was not justified to be a right just because everyone was doing it

Back in the days when it was easy to tell the difference…

So a little about myself. I was that guy who kept to himself. Always with headphones , or a Bluetooth…always on my phone or laptop. That unsocial guy with a hoodie and shades. That guy who didn’t see the need to connect with people. That was me.

Lets just say…it got to a point…i grew up. I saw the need for human interaction. We have an infinite number of days and each moment you waste scrolling…

Everything was set for the big day and excitement filled the air.

The bridesmaids looked splendid in their green dresses having taken enough time for make up and hair do.

The flower girls were not left behind as they looked lovely in their white dresses.

We were all set as we awaited the bride , the queen of the hour to get ready

The motor vehicles were well decorated and ready to move and the weather seemed to be in our favor.

Our wonderful mothers never disappoint. The ‘lesos’ were laid on the ground to make way for the bride as they sang in joy and happiness.

Finally she stepped outside and she was looking impeccable in the white wedding gown,you could tell by the smile on her face it was her day

She was led out of her birth home…never to return the same

The church was well decorated with flower petals on the floor….it was beautiful

The Deejay and the base guitarist looked on point each doing what he knows best.

The groomsmen looked dashing in their grey suits and green bow ties as well as the page boys

Joel, the groom and husband to be, could not hide the joy in Him…he was all smiles

He comes the bride…..

Everyone wanted a glimpse of the bride

We were blessed with a word by the minister

Joel had to confirm that it really was the love of his life..Museo

They recited their vows to each other looking into each others eyes

and two shall be one

The venue was set for Aflewo 2016 Nairobi at Winners Chapel International-Nairobi

The Aflewo Choir led us in singing the National Anthem then we later held hands to pray for our Nation Kenya

The night kicked of with Timothy Kaberia leading us into worship as he beautifully played the piano.

Timothy Kaberia amazed me so much, how he coordinate playing the piano so wonderfully as well as lead the songs. I could he challenged me to go back to my piano lessons..hehe

  People came in large numbers and at around 9 o’clock there was barely any seats left that others had to stand

We had a brief sermon from one of the pastors

The  awesome talented aflewo choir

We were led into a wonderful time of worship by the Choir

People worshiped in spirit and truth pouring their hearts out to God as they lifted their hearts out in praise.

We got to a session of prayer…

This was just beautiful as the flags of different nations were raised and we prayed for Africa .
