MARK: Get yourself settled from travel, bathe and that. Then you're to check the side table drawer for your reward. Not a moment before, understood? AARON: Yes, Sir. Understood.

Blaine couldn’t help but smile a little at the concern, jumping off the counter again despite only being up there for a moment. “Yeah, I am. But if it turns out I can’t, I can come back home, you know?” He tried, opening his arms for a hug. “You kind of promised me something. Or, sorry, said we might be able to arrange something,” He laughed softly.

It was clear he was being redirected by his brother; Blaine didn’t seem to want to discuss it. Although Mark didn’t approve of either of those things facts were, he was an adult and Mark had no intention of working too hard to pry it out of him. He stood up straight, smirking. “Alright.” Mark agreed, waving Blaine forward. 

Blaine raised his eyebrows, glancing toward Mark with a slight look of surprise on his face. “Now… that is a lot of places, gosh. Why so many?” He asked, placing the last dish in the cabinet before washing and drying his hands. He then moved to sit on the counter top, leaning his head back against the cabinet behind him. “England, and France.”

“England and France...by yourself.” Mark held up a hand before he could be corrected, “Sorry with your dog.” His face scrunching up slightly even at the mention of the ugly thing. “Are you sure that is a good idea for you, Blaine?” 

Blaine’s heart all but leapt into his throat, and he glanced toward Mark for a moment as he tried to find something he could respond with. “Yoda. Just Yoda,” He said, nodding once before quickly looking back down at the dishes, focusing hard on not starting to vigorously scrub it the way he usually would when nervous. He knew he had to stay calm. “It’s… why I moved, you know? I’d need an escort otherwise. So, dad?”

“Mhmm.” Mark hummed, his unguarded expression matching his confusion. “I’m not sure it works that way.” He assessed skeptically. The insistence of Blaine trying to get a response from him was however growing annoying, so he answered. “Dubai first, as you know, then I believe China, Germany, and San Francisco.” There was potential for other very brief stops but Mark wasn’t interested in elaborating. “Where in Europe?” 

Blaine glanced up, stepping back a little so Mark could drop the dish in before going back to work, washing, drying, putting away. “Oh, um… well, first is back to New York, then I’m going to Europe, and then I’m going to Atlanta and Richmond before Hawaii. It sounds like a lot, but quite a few of those trips are short, 3 or 4 day ones,” He explained, offering his brother a small smile as he began drying one of the plates. “Where all is dad sending you?”

Mark listened, growing more skeptical as his brother went on. He leaned backward against a counter nearby to him, arms crossed. “That is an awful lot of travel for you, who will you be with?” Mark continued his line of question, ignoring the fact that Blaine had asked him one as well. 

She waited patiently, as he ate, only moving from the spot once she was given permission. Charlotte stood up and followed along after him, hearing his question, she nodded and smiled, “Yes Sir! It’s been pretty wonderful so far.” The blonde spoke truthfully, crossing to her usual spot to kneel in front of his favorite armchair. There was a certain comfortability of the routine of their relationship, and she would be lying if she said she didn’t enjoy that with him. “How about you Sir?” She asked in return, knowing at least what some of his summer had been like so far.

“Wonderful.” He responded, glad she had kept the response short. Mark usually prepared himself when he bothered to ask her questions about her day and of the sort. He sat down in his chair, crossing his legs. “It’s been just fine. Getting in the R and R before heading off.” Mark lifted his drink from the side table, pulling a sip from it before setting it back down beside the mauve colored box he’d set aside for her. “Who knew summer would come so quickly.” Another bite of the apple.
