Day 29: G1 Class Photos and CNX-KUL Flight
26 February 2019
I had class photos with my G1 students after lunch. This was the last time I would be inside Sarasas Witaed Chiang Mai’s campus (for now).
Today’s officially my last day in Thailand (for now).
See you again soon.
Off to Kuala Lumpur!
Day 28: Closing Ceremony
25 February 2019
It’s done.
Today we had the closing ceremony. I also handed out tokens of appreciation to my teachers. I said farewell to my students as well.
PS. Mixed feelings. Weird mixed feelings.

Day 25: Success Day Part 2
22 February 2019
There were no classes today but I still went to school to support the teachers and students who worked hard for their performances. I’m happy to see them so proud of their respective classes.
After the program, the teachers and I took photos at the displays in the quad.
Day 24: Graduation Ceremony + Success Day Part 1
21 February 2019
Today was a very eventful day. I attended the graduation ceremony and the first day of Success Day.
Before the graduation, Teacher Kareen and Teacher Joy got me dolled up since I had to put light make up and had to have my hair tied. (Thank you so much, teachers!) During the ceremony, the students looked so poised and proud to have finished grade 12. Sadly, I wasn’t able to take photos since I wasn’t sure if we were allowed to use phones. After the ceremony, the students paraded on the school grounds and they were given cheers during the boom. ✨🎉
Success Day performances followed right after graduation. It was fun seeing my G1 students on the stage. They looked so cute. The teachers’ efforts paid off.
PS. Thanks to Sir Jack for the photo! “Make it look like you’re walking.” (Sir Jack, 2019)
Day 23: Graduation Rehearsals
20 February 2019
We were given the privilege to attend the graduation rites of grade 12 students. With this, we had to attend the practice for the ceremony tomorrow. The rehearsal was short and simple, and only selected teachers are to attend.
In the afternoon, I bought bubble tea and saw some of my G1/2 students.
Day 22: Makha Bucha Day
19 February 2019
It’s a holiday today and school’s closed. Managed to stay at the hotel and eat good food. 🌟
Day 21: Cancelled on a Monday
18 February 2019
Because Success Day is just around the corner, most of my classes were cancelled (again) due to rehearsals. Luckily, G1 classes already finished their Test 8s so Mr. E and I had no problems with the schedule.
I had a lot of free time that day so I decided to watch the rehearsals of my students.

Day 19: Catching Up
16 February 2019

Spent most of the day alone and I’ve never enjoyed silence so much. 💙
Caught up with the rest of the blog today and pet lots of dogs in the hotel.
Day 18: Classes Cancelled: Government Reading Test + Demo Evaluation
15 February 2019
Strange as it may seem, but most of my classes this week got cancelled!
All G1 and P1 classes were cancelled since they had to take the Government Reading Tests. Teachers from other schools went to Sarasas to conduct the test. The students had to do oral reading and sight reading, as well as reading comprehension.
Some students waited in the hallway near the faculty room so I had the chance to bond with them and take some photos.
We also had the demo evaluation and feedback from Ms. Vic. I won’t go much into detail but my heart is so full. 🌷
Day 17: Grand Demo + Twister
14 February 2019
“Good mo-ning tee-cha Ey-la! and mas-ta I-ma-nu-wel!”
I had my final teaching demonstration today and I’m more than happy to say that it went better than I expected. I honestly had doubts since I originally planned to do my demo in G1/1 or G1/3 since they’re more behaved and there are less absentees. However, due to yesterday’s cancellation of classes, I had to reschedule my demo and G1/2 was the only available class.
You see, G1/2 is one of the noisiest and wildest classes I have ever handled. Teachers wished me good luck when I told them I was conducting my demo in that class, so imagine how difficult and nerve-racking it was to stand in front of them. But setting all of that aside, they are also one of the sweetest classes I have had. 😫💙
After conducting the demo (and having that thorn removed from my throat, yes!), I went back to my regular classes. I played Twister with my P1/2 class and ended up falling and laughing and falling all over again.
This is probably one of the best days here.
PS. Thanks to Micro for the photos!!!
Day 16: Happy Birthday, Boss!
13 February 2019
It was supposed to be my final teaching demo today but most classes got cancelled due to Success Day practice. 😬
I didn’t do much today in school but I got a doughnut from Boss. Happy Birthday, Boss!

Day 15: Demo Practice and P1/1 fun
12 February 2019
Teacher Alice insisted that I practiced for my demo so that I could have a grasp on how to control the students in my actual teaching. I conducted the vocabulary and spelling test for that day for the G1/3 class. Moreover, I was also tasked to lead in answering their workbook for that day.
In P1/1, we had free time since preparations for Test 8 were already finished. Students had to do a relay game wherein they had to whisper the letters for the word that their teammate had to write on the board. It’s amazing how Teacher Oy had them follow the instructions clearly when she spoke in Thai. The students were thrilled when they were rewarded with Vitamin C tablets at the end of the game.
At the end of P1/1′s class, students had green mangoes for their snack. I opted for banana rotee after class instead.
Day 14: Tests and more tests + IMs
11 February 2019
Mr. E conducted spelling tests today. We also had reviews for Prathom’s Test 8. After the spelling tests, I had to go back to the faculty and check the papers.
Observation: students have a hard time writing the letters b & d, and m, n, & r.
Back in the hotel, I spent my free time creating instructional materials in preparation for my upcoming demo.
