In the months of May and June I got the amazing opportunity of taking part in the summer school to China. It was absolutely amazing! Before going to China, I was so excited but nervous. I didn’t know what to expect. There was ALOT of travelling. However it was definitely worth it. On the first day arriving at the hotel we got to relax and find our bearings.

 The next morning was an early start! We arrived at Shanghai Engineering University. We received such a warm welcome by the fashion students and staff. The time spent in the university consisted on making accessories, putting garments together for the fashion show that we produced for the Liverpool Shanghai day.

We visited galleries, silk cotton factory, museums. We also got to go to the Pearl Tower and The Bund. This was definitely my favourite part! I made such great friends with the Chinese students and also the LJMU students. We had great fun working together and made such a great team! Reflecting on my time away, I wish I could do it all over again. I have made such great memories and friends that will last a life time! 

I edited a few of my favourite images. Just by changing the exposure and vibrancy of them on photoshop. I thought my model was perfect for the shoot. She is covered in tattoos and I thought this give the shoot a cool edgy vibe. 

I used illustrator to create a pattern out of the design I had made. This was more difficult than what it looked. I went to Object > Pattern > Make. From there you have to play around with the shapes to get the way you want it. Illustrator is good as it gives you different options of the appearance of your pattern. For example hexagonal, circular, repeated and so on. I had to use youtube a lot for this experiment as I am not very confident using illustrator. However I am glad I persevered and got it completed. 

For my personal project I wanted it to be at home due the project being about Irish pattern. The location was a quirky Irish bar in Co.Tyrone Ireland. I absolutely love this location as it’s your typical traditional Irish bar with lots of quirky features!

Overall I was happy with my Pantone shoot. It give me the experience of working with a professional paid model. However the model was late so this ate into the time I had into the photography studio. Surprisingly, I have never done a still life shoot before. So this give me the opportunity of still life photography not just people!

For my Pantone shoot I used a professional model. I wanted the makeup to be bold on the eye and lip. I like doing makeup looks, so I really enjoyed doing the makeup on the model. 

Unfortunately, the closest colour I could get to a red back drop, was orange. However I managed to work with the colour and edited the photos to red. 

I chose to go with the colour red for my Pantone shoot. I chose this colour because I want to incorporate the overall Britishness theme, red being in the English flag. I also chose this colour due to red having connotations of anger, fear and stop. Relating this back to my No Border Brexit concept the colour red relates to the fear and anger of ‘The Troubles’ in Ireland. Hoping for the stop of a hard border in Ireland. The exact Pantone colour I have decided on is Pantone Bright Red 485 C.

I wanted my model to be a red head, so I took to Instagram and searched for Liverpool Models. I found a girl who I thought would be perfect for my shoot. I used my own heels, bought some new ideas for the shoot including the bag, swimsuit and tic tacs. I knew I wanted bold makeup for my shoot. Especially on the eyes and lips.
