this is my blog about studying and schoolwork for the next maybe 3 weeks! i’m 16 years old and currently doing my junior cert which is in barely a week and i’ve done little to no revision, so im hoping this blog can help motivate me to work!

there are a few people that i take inspiration from, like rory gilmore, paris geller, hermione granger, steve rogers and tashi duncan. all these characters have great determination and smarts, so i’m hoping to fall into their footsteps until june 13th - when exams finish.

first exam done!! i think i did pretty well on it but the short story question hello??? none of our third year classes did a short story but i answered with a novel and my teacher said it’s okay so i think im safe. now all im really scared about for this week is irish (it’s tomorrow im gonna kms) and maths because i know ill do horrible on the listening. to ignore those fears, this is what i studied today -

📚i started with a few spás exam questions and rewrote the plot, theme, ending and character notes.

📚then i moved onto a few daideo past exam questions and rewrote small notes on some important vocabulary.

📚after a small break i worked on a bit of jeaic ar scoil by completing two exam questions about the images and emotions seen in the poem.

📚to wrap up the evening, i did some quick revision on old geography notes as im fairly confident with this subject.

praying for no drama on this irish exam bc i did not study ghleann álainn and no migration questions for the geography exam.

one last day before exams begin and i’m shitting myself! i’m honestly just praying the merchant of venice does NOT come up in tomorrow’s exam bc i haven’t revised it one bit. i am however hoping they put a novel bc i want to write about the outsiders. i also had a few family members visit to wish me luck and i’m very grateful. in my final hours, this is what i did -

📚to begin my study, i completely revised all cinematic techniques and camera angles to help me with any film questions.

📚in the early evening i spent nearly an hour rewriting nature, war, love and sport poems with their poets name and poetic techniques used.

📚to end the evening i did a quick look over some main outsiders quotes.

i wish all junior cert and leaving cert students the best of luck and i beg we have successful exams.

i’m back!! yes, i’m aware i didn’t do anything for the past two days but after rewatching challengers and getting some tashi duncan motivation, ive finally made myself get to bed early to study well tomorrow. i’ve also come to this realisation because tomorrow is the last day before exams so i actually have to try one last time. again, i didn’t do much but i tried -

📚 write out sing street flashcards including the plot, setting, characters and themes.

📚completed ghleann álainn flashcards and started for jeaic ar scoil.

only the second day of working and i’m already feeling like giving up. the first exam starts in 4 days and ive only done 2 hours work today all on the same subject. i’ve officially accepted im only gonna half pass these exams and fail a few but atleast i put in a bit of effort! i also watched ‘we live in time’ for the first time and i teared up, but here’s what ive done -

📚completed the early christian ireland chapter and wrote out its key words and points.

first day of actually attempting to lock in! i still haven’t done any english even though that’s my first exam but im hoping i can cover it on the day beforehand because im normally quite good at english. i should also be covering more maths as thats a subject ive been failing for a while now, but here’s what ive done today -

📚i started with 1 hour and 10 minutes of home economics where i covered milk, fish and protein alternatives but i didn’t finish it fully.

📚soon after i spent only 30 minutes drawing out river diagrams for geography but i still need to look over them again because i don’t remember it all.

📚then in the afternoon i did a full hour of irish and wrote out flash cards for ghleann álainn. (i pray this doesn’t come up in the exam.)
