ARU, architecture research unit is an architectural design laboratory for built research based at the Department of Architecture and Spatial Design, London Metropolitan University, directed by Professor Florian Beigel. ARU is an architectural project studio working on designs for public and private clients internationally. ARU projects range in scale from the design of interiors, buildings, to regeneration of city quarters and post-industrial landscapes.

Chinese studio Archi-Union Architects programmed robots to construct the undulating brick facade of this art gallery in Shanghai's West Bund district.

Working on my 2nd year MArch project I have input the required room areas, set a series of attractors and created links between many of the rooms and circulation spaces. Its interesting to play with the attractors strengths and see how it manipulates and shifts the overall form. I will use the nodes which are central to each sphere as base points for more suitable shapes that would form a much more practical room!
