Two kinds of birds I had never before seen in Europe: white pelicans and flamingos. It appears that there are many flamingos in Turkey, right now they are raising chicks and people are kept at a distance so the birds don't get disturbed. Flamingos like salt flats like the one pictured above.

The Lady and the Tramp caterpillar style
Beginnings of a swallowtail: newly hatched caterpillar eats the egg, a day or two later, it ‘crawls out of its skin’, then eats it. With that ‘molt’, it changes colors. This happens a few times, till the caterpillar has the well-known green color and dots, as it fattens up to be able to pupate.
