MoCADA Apprentice Program 2016

#YOUTHing.

"My experience in this program was really an interesting one because I am not much of a painter or draw, I like the digital arts best, but somehow I think I really enjoyed drawing. My favorite piece is my main drawing because I felt free and created my own style. I would love to explore more of my drawing and work in my digital arts."

"I really love this program  it helped me understand the importance of what I am doing and the importance of the hard work that I put into my pieces. My favorite piece is my painting of the portrait because of the awkwardness of it, I think I will continue exploring my style of painting and discover new techniques."

"This program was super hard yet super fun, in two weeks I created some pieces that I think are really beautiful. I am looking forward to working harder in my art skills, especially painting and the digital arts. My favorite pieces are my short film about catcalling and my landscape painting because I spent a lot much time on them. I wish this program was longer."

"I believe my best piece is the painting because I don't really paint a lot so when I got to try and create this piece I thought it was something to admire. I would love to explore my painting skills and the digital arts. This program had inspired me to continue working harder and it helped me improve my drawing skills."

"My favorite piece is between my main piece and the one right next to it because of the way I used the charcoal to draw them and the accuracy of the bodies. I would love to continue drawing with the charcoal because I love the effects it makes and I would love to continue making more body figures. I feel that the program really helped me with my painting, I don't paint at all therefore it was an new and interesting experience to me to use techniques to paint beautifully."

"My favorite piece is the still life painting because of the details I put into it. Among everything I think I will continue painting because painting is really smoothing and relaxing, I just really like to paint and it is time consuming so I like to spend time on it. I think the program was really helpful; it helped me understand well what will we be doing in college, like the hours in classes and thought me some new techniques in drawing and painting."

"My favorite piece is my painting because I spent the most time on it, every detail is important to me, like the scarf and because of the meaning behind it, it reminds me of home which is the Dominican Republic. A piece that I definitely want to continue with after the program is my video because I think there is a lot more that I could add to it, since it is a video I can play around with it. I think this program is great in general, It helped me express my self completely."

" I love drawing, I will continue drawing and painting but I want to explore and learn more about digital art so I think I will focus a bit more on that. This program helped me with my drawing skills I love using charcoal and  I was able to learn new skills in using color, line and shadow with charcoal."

"I like painting but in this program I grew more interest in the digital art because we were not given any restrictions. I love this program and I wish it was longer. I think my art is very bright and the color I use make it vibrant."
