Today, 23 year old Nairo Quintana secured himself a second place (effectively) at the Tour de France. He also will earn the polka dot jersey (King of the Mountain) and the white jersey (best young rider). This is the best showing from a Latin American rider EVER. Did I mention he’s 23 years old? Earlier in the year, I traveled to Colombia for Manual for Speed to document the cycling culture and development system that Quintana grew up in. Given the backdrop of Quintana’s TdF performance, it’s worth your time to check out MFS’s experience in Colombia here.
