Blade strikes me as mean on the outside very calm on the inside (literally). I think he rivals Jing Yuan for calmest/laziest tummy.
I could def see him and Kafka just being like the sanctuary/safety people in the stellaron hunters. You have a nightmare? Blade won't ask you anything about it, will just nom you and not say a word but it definitely helps you get back to sleep. You'll wake up in bed the next morning and ask him and he will gaslight you, Blade? Caring? No he never did such a thing. You must have been dreaming.
Blade has a great capacity for both cruelty and care
Like, if we were talking who'd be most likely to commit a bit of hard vore, Blade is up there. I can absolutely see him shredding enemies with his teeth. He's ferocious, terrifying, very familiar with the taste of blood. To his enemies.
But then you get those people he's comfortable with, the ones hes allowed inside a couple of his inner walls. He's still intimidating, and I think the first time you're placed in his care would probably come with a bit of fear. Trusting a man like that with your safety? Being that vulnerable with him and expecting him to not use it to bring you harm? It's hard not to tremble at the thought. But then you gotta remember that while the prey is definitely putting themself into a vulnerable position entering a pred, the pred is also allowing the prey into a very vulnerable place. And I think that's big when it comes to Blade. He won't really say it with words that he trusts someone, but I like thinking about that moment of realization that he really does care, because there's no way he'd be letting anyone inside of himself whole and intact and very careful not to cut them on his teeth if he didnt care.
And you're right that, aside from when mara flare ups occur, his body is very calm. It's very meticulous and slow, it feels meditative, maybe almost like he's just a bit sedated all the time due to his mara being suppressed. I think he takes a long time to digest because of this, like it takes hours longer than the average pred. The slowness of it all makes him easy to just sink into. It feels like a caress, surprisingly soft to contrast all his jagged edges.
So yeah while Blade will rarely say he cares, the privilege of being someone he allows into his most vulnerable spot makes it obvious.
