London-based artist Rich McCor, aka paperboyo, has a whimsical way of seeing the world around him. He creates paper cutouts and carefully holds them up in front of city landmarks to transform familiar sights into something awesome. In his hands the Arc de Triomphe in Paris became a LEGO minifig, St George’s Wharf in London became the Dark Tower of Barad-dûr topped by the dreaded Eye of Sauron, and the London Eye revealed itself to be the front wheel of a gigantic bicycle.

Meanwhile in Copenhagen one of the posts of Olafur Eliasson’s Cirkelbroen bridge became the beams of a visiting UFO:

McCor’s photos caught the eye of travel guide company Lonely Planet who have since sent him on trips throughout Europe to see what other sights he could transform into extraordinary photos.
