2. A good majority of my cures are High School Juniors or Older. The reason why is in my opinion, I don’t think children and pre pubescent teenagers should be dealing with terrorists with dark magic. I do have some Cures on the younger side, but I’ll just make their stories have less high stakes or less extremely traumatizing events. The average fancure is 16-25

I would like to present to you Fruit Punch PreCure :D

I drew Cures Fraise, Citrus and Cherry for an Inktober, and I loved making those drawings (Cure Citrus had a different one), I liked their designs and bright yummy colors. Therefore, I made a “print” for each girl.

For the actual story, they work on and help run a juice/smoothie bar, called The Oshaberry (it’s a pun on the Japanese word oshaberi (おしゃべり) meaning chatting/chatter and the English word berry). They all have special eyelashes and eyebrows because I first designed them while watching Rambu’s ( I love their stuff :D )“Wait For Me II” animatic, and the shot of the faces of the ensemble inspired me. Therefore, different eyelashes and eyebrows :]

Otome Hatsukoi is Cure Fraise

“The PreCure of Strawberries! Cure Fraise!”

“Ichigo no Purikyua! Kyua Fureizu!”

“いちごのプリキュア！キュアフレイズ！”

Our lead cure is sweet and friendly to match the fruit. To Google Translate, Fraise and Phrase sound the same when those words are inserted English to Japanese, so she also loves striking up a conversation with people, and makes sure they feel included and comfortable. I gave her big fluffy hair because I imagined that she was shy, so it was styled to hide herself with, so now when she gets discouraged, she proceeds to hide herself and becomes silent and distant. She’s 17 years old.

Etymology:

Otome (meaning maiden) is a reference to Tochiotome, the most widely produced strawberry type in the Tochigi Prefecture.

Hatsukoi is reference to a luxurious Japanese White Strawberry called Hatsukoi no Kaori (meaning The Scent of First Love). They are very sweet and juicy, have a tropical scent, and tend to develop a blush pink color, hence the name.

Fraise is French for Strawberry

To match the lemon’s sour taste, she’s nonchalant and frank. She often doesn’t take things too seriously and is pretty calm and relaxed. She prioritizes honesty, so she often doesn’t hold back on what needs to be said. Because she doesn’t take things too seriously, she’s also pretty helpful because she doesn’t worry about what could be stopping her from helping out, and as seen as dependable. She’s 17 1/2 years old.

I don’t really have a personality that intentionally goes with blueberries’ taste or color, I just gave her one based on the fact that I always see them in bunches :P

She’s frenetic and creative . She’s a fast thinker and a problem solver, with various ideas going on in her mind. She adores thinking of new flavors and products for The Oshaberry, and genuinely wants to own her own business one day. She’s often riddled with anxiety that’s often caused by her own thoughts (definitely not self projecting here why are you looking at me like that 😶) She’s 17 years old.

(Insert first name) Koshu is Cure Grapevine

The Queen of Juicy Gossip, there are so many things she hears through the grapevine. Like Otome, she commonly enjoys a good conversation, and enjoys spreading some of that gossip to the customers. Aside from that, she’s also sassy and detail-oriented. She’s got a quick wit and is daring and lively, and pays close attention to every minute detail. She’s 18 years old.

Etymology:

Koshu is a Japanese grape variety often grown in Yamanashi, Japan’s leading wine region

(Insert first name) Kozakura is Cure Cherry

“The PreCure of Cherries! Cure Cherry!”

“Sakuranbo no Purikyua! Kyua Cherī!”

“さくらんぼのプリキュア！キュアチェリー！”

Kozakura is flirty and introverted. She’s a social butterfly and enjoys playful teasing and enjoys engaging with people, with the flirty playfulness increasing while working at The Oshaberry to hopefully gain traction for the place. When she’s alone, she pulls a full 180, her social battery dead. She’s appears unapproachable, no longer putting on her “act”, and has a sour disposition, while still tries to act with human decency. She’s 18 years old.

Etymology:

Kozakura — meaning: cherry tree.

(Insert apple themed name) is Cure Smith

(Apple girl) is nurturing and a homebody. She’s very affectionate, often checking up on the wellbeing of her friends and those around her. She’s extremely comforting, and is very popular with the younger customers, (blueberry girl) and (cherry girl) when she’s tired. She’s her happiest at home with family and relaxing. She prefers small sweet gatherings compared to big extreme parties. She’s 19 years old. (Do you get the joke now 😏)

Etymology:

Smith refers to Granny Smith, the green apples (the superior apples in you didn’t know)

One day, I found the 1980 Strawberry Shortcake cartoons,became endeared af (FUCKIN RUSSI TAYLOR VOICE ACTED STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE) then redesigned them with Strawberry Shortcake in mind

While trying to color Cure Azure, I did two tries, one with more realistic blueberry colors (hence the usage of purple) and one with more commercialized, cartoon blueberry with more vibrant blues. I went to a mix of both.

These were fun :]

I like said, Cure Sortilège is the last Cure, but the Twipie is strong here, so she’s with her platonic wife :D

Cure Jubilee has fluffier hair with new bows, dots instead of bows on her torso, a fluffier petticoat( I think that’s what it’s called for the bottom layer) and I changed the shoe bows for a cute trim.

Cure Papillon is perfect, nothing changed

Cure Rush has new feather earrings, gave her cool shoulder stuck out thingies (I don’t know what they’re called, I used them for Arc en Ciel PreCure as well) I made that area with the rainbow stripes more V shaped than just vertical, and made her shorts and shoes 20% cooler

Cure Bijou got more Rarity adjacent swoops and ponytail that I find easier to draw, sharper eyeliner/mascara, and a more V shaped area with the diamonds on her torso

Cure Acre no longer has sleeves and is completely off shoulder :], has less frilly cuffs, a small fun tutu with a stitching pattern, a longer simpler skirt, no more long bow trail and has more detailed cowgirl boots

I (was, I’m on a MLP high now) riding a Disney High because I’m hyper fixating on Dr. Facilier’s fine ass. HE’S HOT AND I LOVE HIS VOICE AND HE’S ALSO SO CHARMING IN WAYS BESIDES HIS VILLAINOUS CHARM. HIS FACIAL EXPRESSIONS ARE WONDERFUL, HE’S quite silly to me (look up Dr. Facilier Sorcerer’s of the Magic Kingdom, the video with his beautiful silliness has a Japanese title) I adore this man (this ain’t about him tho)

So I decided to redesign my PreCure based on Disney Princesses. This one is also an oldie turned into goodie, with the idea that other characters I didn’t make Cures of would be a fun extra cures like Cures Infini and Connect. There would an Ariel themed Cure, Pocahontas, Tinkerbell, etc.

The 4th main Cure was originally based on Esmeralda but I decided to switch her for a Cure Mulan (that’s not her name). We still have a Cure Esmeralda, she just appears less.

(Insert Name) is strong-willed and passionate. A dedicated hard worker through and through. Like her inspiration, she’s working hard towards her restaurant, by taking on jobs, looking for shop locations, looking for the best college, etc. She holds firm to her belief about how hard work can make dreams come true, and is very self-disciplined with all her work, as well as her PreCure work. The definition of determination >:D She’s 16 years old

Etymology:

Chere is French for “Dear”, often used in Louisiana Creole slang as a term of endearment, albeit spelled Cher. It used a lot in the movie, usually towards Tiana.

Need a name is Cure Badr

“Authenticity that shimmers like moonlight! Cure Badr!”

“Gekkō no yō ni kirameku, shinjitsu no kagayaki! Kyua Badoru!”

“月光のように煌めく真実の輝き！キュア・バドル！”

(Need a name) is free-spirited and straightforward. Intensely independent, she makes her that she follows her own path and rules. She’s also open-minded, willing to hear various different opinions and perspectives. She’s also very blunt, telling it like it is and is unafraid of telling the truth. She doesn’t beat around the bush. She’s 17 years old.

Etymology:

Badr (written as بدر) is Arabic for full moon. She was originally named Cure Yazdahir (written as يزدهر) is an Arabic verb meaning “to bloom”, but more along the lines of “prosper and thrive” instead of blooming in a more floral sense. Badr is a reference to who Princess Jasmine is based on, Badroulbadour, the princess in Aladdin and the Wonderful Lamp" from One Thousand and One Nights. That name means "full moon of full moons", hence Cure Badr.

Would like a name is Cure Briar

“Love that blossoms brilliantly like a rose! Cure Briar!”

“Bara no yō ni azayaka ni sakihokoru ai! Kyua Buraia!”

“薔薇のように鮮やかに咲き誇る愛！キュア・ブライア！”

Cure Briar is romantic and idealistic. Being sheltered and reading fairytales for most of her life, she dreams of nothing more than meeting her Prince Charming (technically Prince Phillip) and living happily ever after and making new friends and meeting new people. She’s also very creative (she’s the one that came up with the group speech shown oh the top of the post) and loves coming up with ideas on how she can improve things, especially as a PreCure. She’s 16 years old

Etymology:

Briar is “a plant (such as a rose, blackberry, or greenbrier) having a usually woody and thorny or prickly stem”. It’s a reference to Princess Aurora’s alias while hiding, Briar Rose.

Gotta have a name is Cure Lóng

“Inner courage that sparks like fireworks! Cure Lóng!”

“Hanabi no yō ni hajikeru, uchinaru yūki! Kyua Ron!”

“花火のように弾ける、内なる勇気！キュア・ロン！”

(Gotta have a name) is resourceful and warm-hearted. Albeit klutzy, she’s an amazing problem solver, a strategic thinker who acts fast when needed. Since Mulan went on her big journey for the sake of protecting her father, (Gotta have a name) is very family oriented. She loves and cherishes them and wants to make them proud, even though they put her under some stress and pressure. She’s 17 years old.

Etymology:

Lóng (written as 龙 in simplified Chinese) is Chinese for dragon.

Yuki Shiromitsu is Cure Neige

“Kindness as sweet as apples that perseveres through a storm! Cure Neige!”

“Arashi ni mo taenuku, ringo no yō ni amai yasashi-sa! Kyua Nēju!”

“嵐にも耐え抜く、林檎のように甘い優しさ！ キュアネージュ！”

Woah a character with a name :0 Yuki is as kind and pleasant as her inspiration. She’s a Yochien Teacher at the Academy the students go to, beloved by all her students and other people that come to her for comfort. For obvious reasons, she’s born in Aomori. She’s 23 years old.

Etymology:

Yuki means snow

Shiro means white

Mitsu means honey, but I’m specifically referring to the Japanese apples with a honey core

Neige is French for snow

I really like bits of Cure Chere’s 1st design, so I included bits in the recent designs, like her crown/headband given to recent Cure Chere, and her cute arms cuff thingies to Cure Badr. I was also given advice from my Mommy and Daddy that Tiana doesn’t wear dresses/tutus as high up as the 1st designs, so I made her dress longer in the second design.

I would like to present to you, Harmony PreCure :D

One of my oldest PreCure groups that I really adore, especially since I’ve been in an MLP high lately. These aren’t like “Redesigning Human MLP characters” or “Turning MLP into magical girls” even though that’s what I’m doing. These girlies may be heavily based on MLP, but I consider them my own characters that I created.

Twilight is the leader of the Mane Six, but she was the last one to join the friend group. Pinkie Pie was the first Mane Six that Twilight met, so Uki will be the first one to become a Cure, and Chōwa will be the Midseason-Ally-Turned-Cure. The Twipie will be extra strong in this one

You know it’s special when these characters actually have CIVILIAN NAMES ALL SIX OF THEM :0c

Uki Kakuzatō is Cure Jubilee

“Popping happiness! Cure Jubilee!”

“Hajikeru shiawase! Kyua Jubirī!”

“弾ける幸せ！キュアジュビリー！”

Uki is energetic and cheerful. As fun-loving as her inspiration, she loves planning parties and befriending, and making others smile with her silliness. Lighthearted in almost every situation, and can easily cheer people up as Uki and as Cure Jubilee. The PreCure of Laughter and the definition of enthusiasm :D She is 16 years old.

Etymology:

Uki comes from ukiuki meaning excited

Kakuzatō means sugar cube, a reference to Sugarcube Corner

Jubilee is a celebration, most specifically for a special anniversary. I’m referencing the MLP character Cherry Jubilee (where jubilee refers to the flambé dessert) but another one of its definitions is “a religious song of African Americans usually referring to a time of future happiness” which was not intended but I enjoy the coincidence :]

Atsuko Chou is Cure Papillon

“Fluttering gently. Cure Papillon!”

“Yasashiku hatameku. Kyua Papiyon!”

“優しくはためく。キュアパピヨン！”

Atsuko is soft spoken and kind. A shy little lady, avoiding as much confrontation as possible, and a timid nervous wreck, especially when it comes to singing in front of other people. However, just like Fluttershy, Atsuko is brimming with empathy and compassion. Polite and kind to all living beings, from any and all animals (why wouldn’t she, they’re animal lovers), people and even the villains who’ll “allow her to show it”. The PreCure of Kindess :3 She is 17 years old (like she said, she’s a year older than Uki)

Etymology:

Atsuko means kind/warm child

Chou means butterfly

Papillon is French for butterfly, both surname and Cure name referring to Fluttershy’s Cutie Mark

Norika Nijimichi is Cure Rush

“A flash of colors! Cure Rush!”

“Iro no furasshu! Kyua Rasshu!”

“色のフラッシュ！キュアラッシュ！”

Norika is devoted and confident. Like her inspiration, she’ll never leave her friends, school, or anyone else she cares about hanging. She’s also devoted to her craft as a gymnast, getting in all the practice she can. The Wonderbolts are based on the Blue Angels, the United States Navy flight demonstration team and team for the Air Force, the Thunderbirds. So I decided that the Wonderbolts are a gymnasts. She’s very prideful about her abilities and speed, and she’s very competitive, cannot stand losing. The PreCure of Loyalty >:] She’s 16 years old

Etymology:

Norika in this specific kanji “忠加” means loyalty+addition

Niji means rainbow and michi means path, together making her surname mean Rainbow Road

Rush means “to move forward, progress, or act with haste or eagerness or without preparation”.

Mihiro Kongōseki is Cure Bijou

“Shining beautifully. Cure Bijou!”

“Utsukushiku kagayaku. Kyua Bijū!”

“美しく輝く。キュアビジュー！”

Mihiro is elegant and magnanimous. A refined trendy fashionista, and brimming with glamour. Like her inspiration, she’s prioritized on her beauty, fashion and cleanliness. Most importantly, she’s very giving, more than willing to share her gift with those who need it. The PreCure of Generosity :} She’s 18 years old

Etymology:

Mi (美) means beauty, Hiro (寛) means generous

Kongōseki (金剛石) means diamond

Bijou is French for jewel, both surname and Cure name referring to Rarity’s Cutie Mark

Makiko Ringo is Cure Acre

“A diligent orchard! Cure Acre!”

“Kodawari no kaju-en! Kyua Ēkā!”

“こだわりの果樹園！キュアエーカー！”

Makiko is diligent and trustworthy. A hard working woman, earnest in all her endeavors. She also prefers to work with less technology. Girlie pop knows nothing about it, like me :3 ( Girlie Pop should be an MLP character name lol ) But of course, she can’t be properly Applejack based without her honesty. She values honesty over everything and absolutely despises lying. Aside from that, she’s extremely dependable, the first person one would call when they need help. The PreCure of Honesty :] She’s 18 years old

Etymology:

Makiko means “child of truth” or just “truthful child”

Ringo is Japanese for apple

Acre means a field especially of arable land or pastureland. A reference to Sweet Apple Acres

Chōwa Tasogare is Cure Sortilège

“Brand New Magic! Cure Sortilège!”

“Maatarashī mahō! Kyua Sorutirēju!”

“真新しい魔法! キュア・ソルティレージュ”

Chōwa is knowledgeable and socializing. Like Twilight herself, she starts out more cold and reserved, not planning on making any friends and simply studying the magic this new place holds. However, overtime she becomes more amiable and pleasant and though still introverted, she no longer scoffs at the idea of good company and making new friends. What remains throughout is her love of knowledge, an intelligent and curious bookworm. She also a very organized person, making lists and schedules and checking them off, everything is easier when it’s done by the book and stuck to the plan. The PreCure of Magic :)) She’s 17 years old

Etymology:

Chōwa means harmony

Tasogare means twilight

Sortilège is French for “magic spell” her past Cure name was Augury which means a prediction or an omen. I just changed it now, I like Sortilège better :)

Concept Art/Past Designs:

This ship is between Cures Tick and Tock from Clockwise PreCure :D, the “Protectors of Time”.

They two own a cutesy shop where they sell antiques and specialize in clocks. They desire to marry and live together but Japan doesn’t have legalized same-sex marriage and they can’t afford actually live together. It’s a yuriful life these ladies live, cute gayness and some tragedy and all.

Cure Tick is initiative but impatient , She gets things up and running like the shop, dates, and other things. She was also the one who asked Cure Tock out. She rarely lets disrespect towards anything slip by, especially if it’s towards the shop or their relationship.

Cure Tock is more relaxed but hesitant. She makes Cure Tick laugh and distress, she’s uplifting and silly. She mainly the one who deals with customers because she has the patience. She’s usually slow to act due to hesitancy, second guessing ideas, especially hers.

I love my babies and they love each other :D If you thought Cures Black and White had separation anxiety, OH THINK AGAIN THEY CAN’T STAND BEING APART
