A/N: Reader sees Natasha on their birthday, after a year apart. Based on a dialogue request for Natasha to ask you to look at her. This is kinda angsty.

She was waiting for you when you came home. 

It was strange to see her carefully arranged on your sofa. You didn’t like the formality of it, Natasha should feel comfortable here. You always wanted this to feel like home.

She was gazing out the window. Your apartment was on the top floor and the city below sparkled like upside down stars.

Natasha smiled when she saw you and, somehow, your heart thudded harder than ever. 

The lift of her lips was gentle, but they burned you inside. You didn’t want it any other way.

‘Hey.’ You called as you walked over, already too eager. Your bags were forgotten by the door. 

Natasha turned properly to face you. Her dress was black and you recognised it immediately. 

Your heart twisted. She’d been wearing it at the Stark party, when you’d first kissed.

Legends Never Die: Endgame scenes make me want to cry. Fight scenes so well edited. Great to watch after Black Widow movie, when you feel all happy and sad at the same time.

River: 12/10. Have watched this countless times honestly. I want Natasha to tell me to shut my mouth.

Salute: Pls, the sirens at the start are so iconic. Such a good edit. Love the Red Room target practice bit.

Confident: Also Iconic. The timing of the boxing match with Happy = perfection. And the bit where she walks away from the Black Widow inquiry, superb.

Survivor: Very creative, love the choices made with the song. The Bucky fight from Civil War is the best.

Never Give Up: Very appropriate song choice. The part where she has a knife to her throat in Infinity War is such a damn nice piece of editing.
