It’s so important that their getting together gave both Jane and Lisbon a chance at requited love that made them better, freer people, that in a way returned them to themselves. A feeling that, shared with the right person, made them stronger and let them be themselves, and let them experience the myriad of emotions being in love entails, breaking the boundaries of self-containment that were there in both of them for so many years. Their love let them smile more openly and with genuine sincerity, it let them cry liberating tears, and it only became possible because they are together.
