An annoyed sigh escaped the demon’s lips as she spoke up again, eyes squeezed shut as if losing field of view would just make her disappear. He wished that was how it worked. Q counted to three in his head, then to four for good measure, before he closed the fridge and turned around to face Valeri. “I’m fine. I’m just tired and I have a massive headache.” He wanted to leave it at that, sidestep the conversation, and leave the room, he really did. But there was an aura about Val that always made him feel like he could talk, convinced him to be open for once in his life. She claimed they’d been close before… well, everything. He might not believe it if it weren’t for moments like this. “…The fuckin’ fairy’s getting on my last fuckin’ nerve,” he tacked on, muttering the words through his teeth, before quickly tossing back the pills in his hand and washing them down with a long gulp of water.
The book in her hand came down, if only slightly, showing that the leader had her attention. Her eyes didn’t hold too much compassion or concern- she knew that Q would see it as pity, and he’d hate it more than anything. No, instead a small smile played at the corner of her ruby red lips as she snorted in amusement.
“The sunflower is getting under the skin of the sun himself? Well, color me- not very surprised, honestly.” because of course it was the faerie’s fault. Of course it was. If there was anything that Valerius had learned about her dearest friend during her tenure with Veritas, it was that whenever Q was upset, it was Quinn’s fault. Whenever the leader was in pain, it was Quinn’s fault (even if Q was responsible for the scars, it was still Quinn’s fault, and Q had always been adamant about that fact.). “What’d the little one do this time, hmm?”
She allowed the warmth to seep through, her voice growing soft for just a moment, tenderness reaching her eyes in a gesture meant for no one but the dryad. Not a look of kindness for Q, but one for Quinn. Because Q didn’t know how to be kind to his soul mate. Offering the dryad kindness was out of the question, which was understandable she supposed, but that didn’t mean that Quinn was undeserving of it. She didn’t often get a chance to show it, it wasn’t like Q ever let the poor boy out at work, but a small part of her hoped the boy saw the gentle smiles she sent his way before her typical resting face resumed.

Valerius felt the disturbance of energy before she ever saw anyone step foot in the otherwise empty lunch room. She was pretty apt at identifying the members of Veritas by their general energy signatures, or their “vibes” as Jaehyun had once called them, and right away Valeri could tell that something wasn’t quite right with whoever was about to round that corner. She peered over the pages of the novel she wasn’t able to focus on and greeted the newcomer with a nod, and the simplest “Hey, love.”
Her eyes darted back to the pages in an attempt to mind her own fucking business, but the energy radiating off them in waves was thick. Something wasn’t quite right, and it didn’t exactly take an empath like herself to figure that out. Body language spoke volumes. Not necessarily as loud as vibes, but loud enough that she couldn’t just ignore it. A small sigh passed through her red-painted lips as she set her book down.
“Babe, I say this with the utmost love in my heart. Really, I do. You look like a fuckin’ mess.” the demon spoke with a tone that left no room for argument as she gestured widely at the general vicinity of her company. “And your energies are all wrong. Out of whack. C’mon, spill. What’s wrong, doll?”

Ryu Jimin is her legal name, but that name’s been dead to her since around 998. She goes by the name her father gave her, Valerius. Call her Valeri.
what do they look like? include hair, eyes, skin tone, tattoos, etc. !
Valeri stands at 5′5″, is relatively fair in complexion, and lithe/slender in physique. Don’t let her soft features fool you, for if you look closely, lightly defined muscle peeks out from beneath her mesh tops and leggings. She could crush you with her thighs and you would thank her for it. Her hair is long, deep burgundy, and cascades down her back in loose curls. Her eyes are a stunning alizarin crimson when using her powers, but are a shade of brown so dark they may as well be black when she’s not.
do they have any distinguishing features such as scars, unique birthmarks, etc.?
She’s got a small beauty mark under her right eye, but nothing distinguishing outside of that.
what is your muse’s friends and family like? who do they usually surround themselves with?
Friends? Well… She supposes she’s got Yeoreum, Q, and Liz. That’s about it. Her family is all but dead, aside from her father, but she hasn’t seen him in a fair 100 years or so. Every now and then she grows fond of a member, perhaps a sex worker in her care, but that’s about it. She surrounds herself with work associates.
who would you consider the closest person to your muse?
At one point, that answer was Q. Now, though? That’s an excellent question.
where was your character born and what was their living situation growing up there?
Ryu Jimin was born in a forest that would one day become the bustling city of Seoul, but Valerius was born in the freedom that came from the fires in Hell, as dramatic as it sounds. Jimin was confined and restrained in a little cabin in the woods, limited to the world around her. Valerius had full reign to explore her father’s domain as she pleased. Val preferred Hell.
what is your muse’s biggest fear and does anyone know? if so, who, and if not, why not?
She really doesn’t fear much of anything. Death doesn’t scare her, she knows her father’s just going to spit her right back out, failure is just an opportunity to learn- the only thing she’s afraid of, if you could even call it that, is having her freedom taken from her. She refuses to be limited, and will rest at nothing to ensure that she’s free to do as she pleases. This isn’t something she overtly mentions, but it’s something you can pick up on if you spend enough time around her.
has your muse ever fallen in love before? if so, with who? did it end well?
She’s fallen in love time and time again. She’s a goddess among men and she’s been around for 400 years. She’s had suitors, lovers, and husbands alike, time and time again. None of them ever lasted long. As soon as they showed their true colors and tried to put her in a subservient position, refused to see her as an autonomous, intelligent equal she killed them. Each and every time she falls in love she thinks they’ll be better than the last one. I know it.
what would you find in your muse’s refrigerator right now?
Honestly, mostly wines. A few staples, some comfort foods- it’s not that she can’t cook, it’s that she really doesn’t care too much about food. It’s a necessity, sure, but she’ll throw a salad or a soup together and call it a day. If she ever feels like having something particular she’ll just hit up the store before she heads home.

Perhaps it was the first husband she killed… or maybe the second. Maybe even the third? Mostly the idea of just disposing of the men in the world that didn’t deserve women, let alone a queen like herself. Your husband is a chauvinistic, sexist, abusive pig? Just murder him. Simple. Efficient. You get life insurance. Everyone wins… well, aside from the husband, but he doesn’t matter. Really, though, it’s the memory of Q teaching her how to kill her husband for laying a finger on her.
