Aaand I'm done - except for the part where I'm not, because I'm still feeling super driven to obtain more, better gear. I also want to make sure I finish the season with no less than 50 timed 10+ runs. With as many crests as I need, it'll probably be 100+. 💀
Writing is happening in the background, slowly but surely.

Ugh, I can't believe we're almost halfway through 2026...
Work is still a challenge. I love what I do, but I'm struggling with not feeling like I'm where I should be in my career by now and I'm not feeling supported by my new boss. I applied for an opening in another department, but it's extremely competitive - and I don't want to leave my current department anyway, I just want to feel valued and like I'm moving forward professionally in a way that I really, really don't right now.
I've been playing WoW almost entirely solo this season. I'm currently sitting at an M+ score of 2776, am one of the top 500 hunters on Moon Guard and #251 for my spec. I could definitely be doing better and I'm going to try to make a push this week, I just feel strapped for time all the time and pugging keys is... an experience.
As for writing, the problem remains: I'm always starved for some combination of time, inspiration, and/or motivation. I thought adjusting to my new schedule would solve it, but it hasn't. I used to write early in the morning while I had my coffee before work; now I start work so early that the only time I can write is after work, when I'm tired and unmotivated. My weekends tend to be all-or-nothing days where either my schedule is packed so I couldn't write even if I wanted to, or I'm exhausted and stubbornly refuse to do anything that could be considered productive. It sucks, because I generally LIKE writing. I haven't been short on ideas, just finding the execution impossible. Even when I make a genuine effort, it feels like what comes out is shit, if I can get anything written down at all.
Still, I've gotten some writing done - it's just spread across like seven different WIPs, so there's nothing ready to post. I do aim to correct that in the near future. If you're reading this, you have my heartfelt thanks for bearing with me through these prolonged slumps.
So I definitely did not Do The Thing last week. Alas, entirely too much has been going on in meatspace for me: a new boss, new role, and new schedule at work - all very different from what I've grown used to - as well as goings on at home with pets' health and my own that required my time and attention. I'm on day three of a desperately needed vacation, which isn't turning out to be much of a vacation after all, but I am making the most of it. My Alliance main is level 89 and I hope to get started on alts by tomorrow - and perhaps a spot of writing. Inspiration is a fickle bitch. Sometimes, even when the idea is there, the execution just refuses to be.
Here's hoping that things settle a bit and I can get back to it for real soon.
I am in the middle of a massive transition at work (new boss, drastic change in schedule and duties, and way too many deadlines looming), so I am not going to be able to keep up this week, but I am actually very excited about the prompts and already have solid ideas for most of them, so expect to see me continue this particular party from the 22nd through the end of the month!
In the meantime, looking forward to reading everyone else's writing!
I've been wrestling with many brainworms. Big changes at work and not-so-good health have deprived me of the spoons needed to bring them to life, but I'd like to get some writing out in January if I can.
I really need a vacation. ðŸ˜
Wishing all of you health, inspiration, and motivation in abundance in 2026.

Thank you to @daily-writing-challenge for reblogging some of my stuff even though I was late. 💛 Below are the permalinks to my posts for this week, all for @voidwalkwithme:
Static
Lucky
Serious
Ribbon
Sunshine
Echo
Drop
I'm not proud of my writing this week - for proper samples of my writing, please see my writing in August - but I am proud of myself for seeing it through whilst not only working outdoors in dour weather, but battling an illness that is turning out to be more serious than I'd originally thought.
I had to rush to finish more than one of these pieces. Both "Ribbon" and "Echo" felt woefully incomplete. All seven pieces were meant to be vignettes and not stories per se, but even as a vignette, I feel like "Ribbon" in particular falls short (it is utterly bereft of context). In contrast, I feel good about "Lucky", and had a great time writing "Serious" and "Sunshine".
All of these pieces are canon for Jaeness and will make more sense going into the events of Midnight. We'll learn more about what happened between Jaeness and Castinus and what's going on now between Jaeness and Zariya. She'll meet new OCs (maybe even one of yours) and finally have a STORYLINE.
Work and my mystery illness (for which I'm getting a chest x-ray tomorrow to rule out pneumonia) sapped me of a lot of energy, especially creative energy. Still, I am really stoked for Midnight. Jaeness will almost certainly be my main throughout the expansion, though I am also sporadically working on Yet Another Blood Elf character concept, and the affectionately named "Scandal Elves" Corinne and Zariya aren't going anywhere. Emily, on the other hand, is taking the back seat for a bit; it is Elf Time.
If you are interested in getting one of your OCs involved with Jaeness or the Scandal Elves or you're feeling nosy about my nebulous character concept, please reach out! While the holiday season may not be the best time to get into the thick of things, I am totally open to expressions of interest, making new connections, and even a little plotting in preparation for Midnight.
I've been on a hero dose of antibiotics for a few days now in addition to the OTC medications I was already taking, and I reckon I'm about as recovered as I'm going to be for close to another week, so I finally banged out my first (very belated) piece for DWC here!
I plan to write for @voidwalkwithme all week this week, so expect a bit of the eldritch and a whole lot of sass. The wrap-up will be posted here at the end of the week.
To the participants who came before me: you can expect some regrettably delayed comments from me as well! I really did not have the spoons last week. 😔 Congratulations to everyone who made it happen and thanks once again to the showrunners over at @daily-writing-challenge for creating this opportunity for everyone and keeping it going year after year!
I am still sick, but I do have a draft I've been pecking away at for DWC. Hoping to post it on the 16th and write daily from there for the exercise. I'm not sure if I've got sinusitis or something else, but I'm running out of sick time so I have to really focus on healing today. 😔
Great work to everyone who has been posting, I really enjoy reading your stuff!

As excited as I was (and still am!) for DWC this week, I came down with something on Friday and haven't quite returned to form yet, so I'll be a day behind the pack, so-to-speak. I already have ideas for some of these prompts, the body just isn't quite willing yet - I'm hopeful for tomorrow, though.
I hope everyone enjoys their DWC experience this week and I look forward to reading what y'all are writing!
me and the girls should be getting sloshed at the local mexican place off margs and eatin chips and queso but nooooooo all we can do is fuckin talk on discord… fuck this shit
A brief character list is now available on this blog for reference here. Its primary purpose is to validate this OOC blog's ownership of my OC blogs, which are all sideblogs. It should also help clarify to others why this blog may be interacting with theirs (since all comments and asks that would otherwise come from my characters come from this blog). While it doesn't server as a proper introduction to my full cast of characters (something I intend to do here soon), it opens the door for interested readers to poke around.
All of my WoW characters are currently available for RP in Discord or in-game by request. Emily and Jaeness are my longest held and most played characters. Corinne, Zariya, and Rose are all very new and were written to facilitate specific plots with my writing partners. That being said, they are still available for RP, just know that Corinne's circumstances severely limit the scope of what she is available for.
Whether you're working like me or have Sundays off, I hope you're enjoying your day. Look forward to beefier character content soon!

Here are my entries, spread across three characters:
i. Ethereal (Emily)
ii. Wither (Zariya)
iii. Primal (Emily)
iv. Languish (Corinne)
v. Rustic (Emily)
vi. Celebrate (Corinne)
vii. Serene (Zariya)
The last couple days were difficult to get through with chaos happening in meatspace, but I'm glad I saw it through! When I planned what to write for each prompt, I actually did not plan spreading the prompts out as evenly as I did, so I'm happy about that, too.
Expect to see more of Emily and probably a lot more of Scandalous Blood Elves in the future - and maybe look forward to the eventual return of this one?
A big fat THANK YOU to the runners of @daily-writing-challenge for putting on this challenge year after year. You're creating inspiration and motivation, boosting writers, and introducing people to each other through your labor and it does not go unappreciated. 💖
My last two entries for the DWC will either both be going up on Saturday, or the sixth will be posted Saturday and the seventh on Sunday. One of my animals had a veterinary emergency this morning, which was followed by the most unhinged day at my job that I've had since I took the position (seriously, you wouldn't believe me if I told you). In the past, I would have been rather mean to myself about this, but this is 2025 and your girl is tired.
I love this hobby and I'm glad to be back at it. I've been putting out some of the best writing I've done in a while (along with some of the okayest), and reading everyone else's work has been fun. I have found myself curious about the outcomes for a particular mercenary group, and someone needs to get me the deep lore on that one elven house ASAP because WHAT AN ENSEMBLE CAST and all of the associated writing is fire (not tagging everyone in my OOC bullshit but I see y'all).
I hope you enjoy the last two pieces I have planned for you guys, as I'm excited to finish them!
