I saw that post as well. I was the one that posted about NR's interview. I totally agree, if anyone loves her it's Norman and Andy. They have both sang her praises many, many times. I love that everyone loves Mel so much but some people are so sensitive. Just because her castmates don't shout it from the rooftops all of the time and every once in a while they also praise another cast member doesn't mean they love her less. This cast loves each other and support each other and the last thing they want to see is all of this hate flying around!

If you remember, Daryl told Merle he got left behind by his own actions. Same thing applies for Carol. Rick isn’t the only one who did something here. What Carol did was far worse b/c at least he’s given her the chance to live she didn’t give Karen and David. She’s committed MURDER. She betrayed them all. She deceived them all. She didn’t trust them enough to tell them and if she and Daryl have such a great bond then why didn’t she trust that enough? Why? Because she knew he’d hate what she did. By her doing it anyway, tells me she did not care. She didn’t care that he’d hate it, she didn’t care that it would hurt everyone. She just did what she wanted to. Rick telling him the truth will go a far way as well whereas she did not and when she doesn’t come back to the prison, that will tell them even more how she truly feels.

I guess we’ll have to agree to disagree. I am not saying that what Carol did was completely right but I do believe she only had the best interests of the group in mind. As she said, they were both drowning in their own blood. She didn’t believe they had a chance so she took a chance and tried to stop the virus before it spread. It obviously didn’t work but she did what she felt she should do. She should have consulted the council just as Rick should have waited to do before made a unilateral decision and sent her off on her own.

She didn’t know for sure they were going to die, no one knew that. It was a lot like Andrea in a sense that she did what she wanted to do regardless of common sense. The Council was an interim leadership authority until Rick decided to come back and in fact, they wanted him to come back. Now he’s back. But to think that Daryl won’t be as upset by what Carol did, or he won’t be is a bit, well, short sighted imo. And he’s not going to leave behind a prison full of people who trust him, rely on him, need him, haven’t betrayed him as she has. Definitely though, agree to disagree, totally respect what you have to say. Take it easy. 

I actually never said that Daryl wouldn’t be upset by what she did, nor did I say he would leave a prison worth of people to find her… I do however think that he understands Carol and in the end he will understand why she did what she did even if he doesn’t agree. He knows she’s not the type of person to kill for no reason. I’m not going to lie and say I don’t want him to bring her back but knowing the writers, they will complicate her return, but I wholeheartedly believe she will be back. I will say it’s nice to debate with someone who can debate without taking it to an abusive or hateful level. Definitely agreeing to disagree here :) Much respect to you as well.

She’s not dying but I don’t think she’ll be back at the prison. And the issue that I take are those saying he’ll be SO angry and put off by Rick, yet no mention is made of what Carol did. That’s a deep thing for him, to develop such a great level of trust and caring and then to have it smashed to bits by someone. Carol didn’t kill for evil reasons, but she did the wrong thing and I hope we hear people say that to her as well….. Kudos to you too my new friend.

I've also read alot of people saying that Daryl is going to go crazy and all but I think realistic enough to know its going to be somewhere in between that and him standing behind Rick. I know Andrew Lincoln said in an interview that something will happen to divide the group and I think that this is it. There will be some on both sides. Thanks so much!

I totally agree. She did what she felt she needed to do. I just hope that Daryl and the rest of the group will understand.
