As we all know LBH is the protagonist- as SQQ points out- the ultimate protagonist. But he meets WWX who- upon reflecting- hilariously ticks off so many female lead tropes by pure accident and whimsy.

It is like two magnets getting tangled- by pure accident mind you- both subconsciously keep finding themselves in compromising situations- between cursing themselves, WWX’s fainting, the chaos both attract-

It always ends up with them in some dramatic romantic position.

Now this is not a Bingxian post- they are bot EXTREMELY MARRIED to their otherwise very confused husbands and EXTREMELY IMPORTANT this is nOT a Misunderstanding Infidelity Plotline.

Why?

For one SQQ refuses to be put in the jealous evil villain lover role thank you very much

Two LWJ almost lost WWX Twice due to miscommunication and lack of communication

So when they see these scenes (hell they saw the scenes unfold)- both are believing the very genuine reactions their husbands have (LBH sobbing bc he *swore* he thought he was grabbing SQQ- wwx cackling running up to LWJ going “you need to do that! Hold me like that!!”)

Neither are pleased but neither are particularly blaming their husbands either.

This is PURE comedy despite the fact that LBH, WWX and the narrative that keeps possessing them wants it to be angst.

SQQ has theories he keeps posing to SQH: maybe the system is trying to fuck with me, or could be logically LBH has too much yang and WWX has a stupid amount of yin??

SQH: idk- for a guy- WWX hits all the points I would make for a female love interest that would match LBH :/

SQQ: I beg your absolute fucking pardon?

SQH: I am just saying???

I think it is funnier if just- both of them are constantly controlled by the narrative wires get crossed when they are in close proximity

Bc SQQ still has his wife beam, still is the love of Binghe’s life, still hitting those wife plots

LWJ is still WWX’s loyal soulmate, the one WWX always finds home with.

The thing is- LWJ needed to put in *actual energy* (bc insanely he respected WWX’s boundaries the first time, believed him when he said ‘go away’, believed WWX had shit under control- things a normal person would do- not what a drama Male lead would do which is what he does the second time around via glueing himself to WWX’s side)

And SQQ’s “original role” is the villain as well he has a thin face and is allergic to putting himself into romantic interest situations (heaven forbid he wants a normal relationship with his husband)

So kinda like- when the four get close- LWJ and SQQ lose priority in the weird drama romance pull that puts drama lovers in situations.

If WWX trips- it is into Binghe’s arms. If Binghe reaches out to SQQ to pull him close- nope- that is WWX.

The wardrobe malfunctions, the mishaps

These two next to each-other looks on the surface like two leads in a very dark drama. Hell it would be hilarious if like WWX and LBH got into a fight about it- and like by pure coincidence- it is seems very charged. The lines are just ambiguous enough to seem flirty and like innuendos… it isn’t they are actually getting frustrated and angry with each other- but bystanders are watching with rapt interest and SQQ and LWJ are quickly making their way over to pull them FAR away from each other.

Like- imagine SQQ confronting LWJ (SQQ leaves low key fanboying for the poster boy of perfect ascetic monk cultivator in the way you would fan over a really cool cosplayer for a fandom you don’t know) - and a full dialogue of

“Look as long as we keep them apart it is fine- not like your husband is the type to randomly touch or grab possibly cursed things bc he is curious.”

“…..”

“Well fuck well not like he is constantly over working himself to the point of exhaustion and needs to be caught and protected.”

“………..”

“Are you- does he also panic and pretend to be people he isn’t all for the sake of avoiding confrontation???”

“…………:”

“Fucking- does he also put himself in precarious compromising positions while being in danger?????”

“………………….”

“…….how often is he kidnapped?”

“…….”

“Fuck me.”

Like come on if I knew drama tropes better this would be writing itself.

The drama. The comedy. The Dramedy.

The alliance between SQQ and LWJ. SQH and SQQ meddling and unintentionally making ‘everyday means everyday’ worst for WWX (in the best way possible but there is only so much his poor body can handle) ((I imagine they were also fooled into thinking LWJ isn’t passionate enough… they are wrong but LWJ isn’t correcting them))

Meanwhile LBH and WWX are slowly getting more and more sick of each other. A possible disaster. Or possibly wonderful friends. It is a thin thin line. Bc I think both are in a much healthier place with their husbands they aren’t taking well to each other.

WWX thinks LBH is an arrogant jackass

LBH thinks WWX is a stubborn chattering fool

Both are playing hero. Both keep getting in reach others way. Both refuse to listen to the other. Both keep one upping the other-

All fun tropes for a tense banter filled drama duo… but in reality they are just pissing each other off.

Bc LBH is use to The calm steady presence of SQQ, who seems to always know what is going on, who LBH knows like the back of his hand, who knows Binghe’s every move. Who enjoys when LBH shows off a bit.

WWX is use to LWJ who lets him take lead, the quiet intelligence who is always on the same page with his wild ideas and thought process; grounding him with a clear and precise mind.

Their methods though while works extremely well together (both charming and intelligent) both working really well in chaos, both extremely adaptive,,, they just don’t like each other and keep clashing.

I imagine it ends up very fun and light hearted and ridiculous

2 protagonists possessed by the narrative to keep being in situations (tm) while their very tired husbands are telling the narrative to fuck off bc they are taken

Bc I am putting down a hilarious plot I wish I knew how to write- but can’t bc it is a level of meta on a genre I am not well enough versed in-

Like canon wise he barely hung out with WWX outside the detention hours, he and JC barely interacted and NHS openly avoided him given the chance.

Now don’t get me wrong I love it and I desperately want to explore their dynamics as like- an original Juinors group. Like LWJ being an unwilling participant in their little chaos group- but like eventually just being one of the trio.

Omg he would be the Jin Ling- but like already knowing his relationship with WWX- I wanna know his relationship with NHS and JC too. I low key love when writers make him and NHS like childhood frienemies. I like the idea of young LWJ and Young JC maybe not super close but DAMN are they 2 parts stressed about WWX doing dumb shit.

They are both quiet young masters in front of people. Maybe quietly commiserating when they have to put on the fronts and be the face of the group to snobs when WWX can’t charm for them.

NHS and WWX being the much more approachable duo vs the intimidating young nobles behind them.

I think JC and LWJ would have a quiet alliance.

LWJ being the group chaperone while the three of them drink.

NHS THRIVING when he clocks LWJ with a crush.

I wanna explore their dynamics and how much the angst hurts that much more when canon continues as planned and they are all scattered and no longer close (save WangXian)
