Major Lucy “Badass” Lane

Lena felt a bit like a test subject, having to undergo thorough security before even stepping foot into the main DEO building. However, she took it all in stride, knowing it would lead to good results. Throughout the entire process, her green eyes sought the eyes of her lover, having handed her the lead lined case to keep it safe. She hadn’t had the chance to tell Lucy what lay inside, but she trusted the soldier to keep it close.

“Am I done, sir?” Lena asked the agent with a slight inflection of exasperation in her tone. It was the fourth going on fifth time he had run his hands over her sides in an attempt to make sure she hadn’t hidden any weapon under her clothes. At this point she figured the man was just doing it just to do it, let alone most likely following the orders of his other boss, a certain red headed agent who most likely had it out for Lena. 

With a grunt, the man had finally let go, and she proceeded to pass by the 2nd metal detector before reaching the end of the security check to grab her belt and coat. She turned to Lucy and smirked.

“Well, that was something.” 

“Supergirl’s been exposed to kryptonite for a really long time, synthetic or not. I had started to work on this yellow sun emitter, a grenade of sorts, that would disperse concentrated sunlight in case Supergirl became weakened.” She cleared her throat awkwardly.

“I was going to give it to her as a present, in case she ever needed it..” Lena trailed off, reflecting on how messed up things actually became. After everything, she was just exhausted.

“I have a few more notes to pour over, if you don’t mind me using your office? I know you have to leave..”

“I primise I’ll be careful. I’ll make sure no one bothers you while you’re here. You can use my office.”

She nuzzled her, drawing strenght from her sweet smell. 

“Once we find Kara and all of this is over, I promise I’ll have much more time for you.”

No one had an idea of how much time she would have in her hands. With a last sweet kiss she released her and took a step back. 

“I better go. See you when I come back.”

“Lillian no doubt has kryptonite emitters laid out in the facility. You may have gotten rid of Cadmus’ main kryptonite supply, but I saw notes of synthetic kryptonite emitters that Lex had created that mocked the effects of Kryptonite. Those emitters need a steady water source to power it, and a flat piece of land to bury the lines of wires since the wires need a form of insulation. This facility is most likely surrounded by the emitters all buried under the ground. My suggestion would be to dig up one of its core reactors and overheat it to the extent of combustion, but that’s dangerous and would leave you with minutes to infiltrate, let alone the security you have to bypass.” Lena spoke, carefully and slowly. Something didn’t sit quite right about the location, but she knew this was the facility to go with.

“Okay. These dots are the ones we still need to go check. The cross is the one that brought to nothing. The plan was to go check this one and this one next, as soon as possible. As you have probably seen, Kara is fading fast, time is not a luxury we have anymore.”

With a sigh she offered Lena the tablet.

“She’s probably looking at us and listening in, right now. It’s not likely that she’d just let us wander here.”

With a very low tone of voice she then added, mostly to herself:

“Not that I’m her boss or anything... she’s bossier than Lois, dammit..”

Then she went back to speak at a normal volume.

“Anyway that’s what we’re gonna do. I’m taking you to my office, where you can explain to me what’s in this and what’s your plan. I’m sure she’ll join us soon.”

After squeezing Alex’s arm reassuringly, Lucy quickly went to the garage, taking one of the DEO SUVs and two agents with her. She didn’t want to take any chances and Lena was a subject at risk. She couldn’t risk them being followed or Lena being survellied and bring Cadmus straight to their base. Sure, it had already happened, but that really wasn’t the moment to risk. Once outside of L-Corp she nodded to the agents to wait for her, then entered the building. The private guards greeted her, already knowing her, and she was sent straight to Lena’s office, the woman having already warned everyone that she was expecting her. Jess gave her a small smile letting her pass but Lucy could only manage a nod. Things were too tense right then. She opened the door to Lena’s office and her eyes immediately sought her girlfriend, her heart skipping a beat thinking of that term.

She looked over at Lucy and made direct eye contact. “I would absolutely love to be yours. Your girlfriend, I mean.” She winked slightly, moving into kiss the woman, but stopped midway realizing the car had come to a stop at the government base. She sighed, putting her serious face on, knowing what ever lied past those doors was going to be very challenging.

“Yes.”

She turned for a moment toward Lena.

“You’re here with me, so no one should give you problems. I’m afraid you’ll have to stick by my side, visitors are not allowed to go around alone. But once we’ll have the location, things will be messy, because I’ll have to go too. But you don’t worry, I already asked Winn to help you if you need anything.”

She huffed her for a brief moment then opened the car.

“Okay, let’s go save Kara.”

After squeezing Alex’s arm reassuringly, Lucy quickly went to the garage, taking one of the DEO SUVs and two agents with her. She didn’t want to take any chances and Lena was a subject at risk. “Well... we talked about making it official and bring esclusive, before that damn dream... so I guessed that’s what we kind of were? I mean... I know I haven’t properly shown you that I’m invested in this, but I am.”

She finally opened her eyes then, hoping to convey her sincerity to the other woman.

Things have been so intense since we got back...it’s almost as if every day there is something new to worry about. I know all problems won’t disappear just with her return, but...some of them will.”

She closes her eyes, leaning her head back on the seat, still turned toward Lena.

Once out of the elevator she took the lead, guiding Lena to the DEO car waiting for them.

She didn’t wait for an invite before moving behind the desk, leaning down to cup her cheek and kiss her, stroking it gently with her thumb.

After hanging up the phone, Lucy sighed deeply. She needed to go get Lena, but first there was something else that needed her attention. Alex wouldn’t react well to the news, but she’d react even worse if she just found Lena at the DEO. Hopefully she’d trust her.. she really didn’t want to have to pull rank on her.. while she still could. With a deep breath she walked to Alex’s lab, where she knew that the agent was getting ready for a new blitz. She knocked on the door then entered, looking around for her and finding her sitting with her eyes closed, leg jumping up and down.

“Danvers.. we could have found a new lead over which one of the locations is the right one.”

And Alex couldn’t lie to herself; it hurt.

She relaxed slightly at Alex agreement and nodded.

“She’s gonna be here strictly to consult about the location. To help he find Kara. Then I’ll personally make sure she’s escorted back to her place or L-Corp. you won’t even need to see her if you don’t want to.”

She took a breath then softened slightly her gaze.

Lena, of fucking course. Alex tensed up, and scoffed.

“Luthor. You want to bring the woman that is in part responsible for Kara disappearing in the first place, here. To help us.”

She looked at Lucy, incredulity written all over her face.

“Intel, Danvers. There are still four places to check, and that’s just if the informations I got. She told me she could identify the right location. I know you’re mad at her and I get it. But right now? Any help that we can get is important. What if this thing helps us find Kara in time and save her? What if refusing to listen to her we lose precious time? You can go back hating on her after this, but we need help. Even hers.”

Her gaze was of stone as she kept staring in Alex’s eyes.

Sharp - and a little crazed - hazel eyes snapped open, focused solely on the brunette across from her.

She stares at her attentively.
