There's something that could be said about the insistence of saying "character x should come out as trans/it should be more explicit that character x is trans" when it comes to media where the clear goal is to explore the personal/societal struggles that make it difficult/impossible to come out in the first place, but are people ready for that conversation
#I have been thinking about writing that essay myself#partly through my irl stuff but also because I think what DR is doing w/ Ralsei is leaning towards I saw the tv glow and tadc#while I think DR will have more 'happy canon' than the other two I think ppl might not get exactly what they want#in short: trans characters are and can be more than their coming out moment and tragedy doesn't mean it's less or bad rep
