final star count: 7 (only counting those I was sure to see, I saw multiple lines that I didn't know if they were shooting stars or my eyes seeing things as they move)

of those, 1 was weird (i saw it just as i stood up to rest my ass and neck! it fell weird) and 2 were from the corner of my eye (1 was bright as FUCK so I'm counting it anyway, the other I managed to catch as i turned my head), the other 4 were normal, full on sightings

#i hate light pollution all my friends hate light pollution >:( but I'm really happy with it!#other things: i identified two constellations and i think SATURN?! which is wild ill have to check it again #aftermath: my ass hurts from sitting on stone and my neck is definitely complaining about it #and wishes: i forgot i had to make any LMAOOO i was so excited to see the stars after the eclipse that i forgot that's something you do #(i know it's futile (not now akane))#the good thing about these meteor showers is that they are common‚ month-long and reasonably annual so there's always another chance #the next ones are the draconids in early october (MY BIRTHDAY? i hope i see them) and then the orionids for entire october #leonids is entire-ish november and geminds the entire-ish december and the ursids in late december #so yeah ill have to make sure to research those and note the times and days in case i can see them in the future #but considering it's gonna be autumn-winter.... yeah that means clouds probably #aaanyway tags are over. is it obvious i like all this space stuff?
