My name is Hiwaga, and I do Stuff. Most of the stuff I do here is witchcraft.
I'm an eclectic witch, and most of my practice revolves around integrating magick into daily life. That means working knot magick into macrame, stirring intentions into my cooking, tapping into lunar phases as I do schoolwork.
This blog is going to be a frankensteined monstrosity of whatever catches my fancy, provided it's marginally related to magick.
Hope you enjoy you're stay!

Reminder that if you're asking spirits to help you with something long-term (i.e. protecting your home, bringing in job opportunities etc) it can be good practice to have an agreement on "rest" and "finished" commands. I.e.
"When I tell you that it is time to sleep, return to your vessel and rest until I ask you to continue again."
"When I tell you that your work is done, I will thank you with an offering and our relationship is completed so you may leave my space."
Signed, someone who forgot to do this and had an unhappy spirit asking where their offerings where because I forgot to say that I now *had* job and didn't need them bringing me more!
I don't have ADHD, I'm autistic which might be why this system of pre determined "rules" work for me haha!! Here's some ideas that might work a bit better:
- I keep the "code words" written down next to the spirit vessel! This means I can always see them
- My "code words" are very similar for all spirits, they all carry the same gist and vibe so I don't have to remember unique codes for each spirit
- I set alarms and calendar events for giving offerings! And because I tend to leave most offerings on my altar I can see if any are due replacing
- I have quite good intuition and clairsenses so often they will tell me if I've forgotten something or want something
But remember that you don't have to do this at all! Spirit work is a relationship, which means that you can figure out what works for you and the spirit!! If set 'code words' like this don't work for you, then don't use them! You know what works for you and your relationships, so just be honest with spirits amd figure out what works for you both!
If any witches/spirit workers DO have ADHD and want to add anything, please do!!!!!
@inthiscrazylifeilive please let me know if you want tag removed - just wanted to reply to Ur tags!! :)
A) such code words and predetermined agreements are useful
B) I will not remember to do them
I personally instead set conditions ahead of time along side a code-word, like this (to borrow original example; my changes are in bold green):
"Your work is to bring me a job. Your work is done when I have legally signed with a new employer and my first day is scheduled. When I tell you that your work is done, I will thank you with an offering and our relationship is completed so you may leave my space. Or, when you see that your work is done, come back and claim this offering I leave now in anticipation of your future service."
Payment plan:
1) Leave a nonperishable offering now, with terms that the spirit can't take it until the work is complete. At some future time, bury/compost/release offerings and direct them into the spirit world to whomever they belong (I will have forgotten who they are for)
2) Perform semi-regular general offerings to many spirits and spells, a part of which is set aside specifically for spirits who have debt owed to them. E.g., "I call first to my gods and ancestors to take their portion. Next I call to any spirits whom I owe payment and debt, and invite them to take their portion and be fulfilled. (etc.)" You can arrange with spirits that any final payments will be fulfilled at this time.
The only trick is making sure you actually do semi-regular general offerings. Once a month will suffice I find and the ritual can be pretty pared down.
Hi! i was just wondering what Hellenic hair wrapping was? LIke, i guess, what it is for/beliefs surrounding it/what it looks like (like is there a specific way you are supposed to wrap your hair?)? I tried googling, but couldn't find any answers.
So I have an explanation along with a ton of links! :D
I can only speak as a Hellenic Pagan, so if any other religions want to stop in and say something about why the do it, go for it :)
what it is for/beliefs surrounding it
Some of the beliefs/reasons itâs done are included in the links below ^_^
But basically, itâs devotion, protection, and personal reasons :) I do it to protect myself from miasma, and do it as a devotional act for Hades.
Hair is a very spiritual thing and it holds a lot of power, in my opinion. Protecting it from bad energy, the sun, and just the outside world in general is a pretty good reason to do it. :)Â
what it looks like (like is there a specific way you are supposed to wrap your hair?)
There are a ton of different ways to do it! :D You can just lay a veil over your hair, style it in a greek/roman updo, follow traditions from your culture⌠really there are sooo many ways to do it.
I personally like turban-esque wraps since theyâre easy to pass off as fashion to my parents and friends. But I also really enjoy wearing elegant and intricate styles from artwork we find from ancient Hellas ^_^
could you please explain how to read that pattern for the veil?
Sure thing! Iâll do you one better even, Iâll post a tutorial!
So, starting with this pattern, that I got from willowmoon92 and this post, no directions:
I started by grabbing some scrap fabric I had laying around, a good sized chunk, but nothing outrageous. You could easily do this with a square scarf.
Next, cut it into a square shape, if it isnât already
Mine isnât perfectly even because I was still sorting it out, but you get the idea.
Next, I actually folded mine into quarters to make cutting a circle super easy
Once you cut a quarter of a circle through all the layers of the fabric, youâve got a circle (or close enough) and four pointed bits
Fold your circle in half and figure out where you want your sleeve holes
Figure out center top on your shawl bit, and position one of the triangle pieces so the centers line up. Pin it for reference and to make sewing easier
Repeat with the next section too. Donât worry about the pointy bit yet, weâre gonna trim that off later. The curved line of the second triangle is going to lay across the outer edge of the first triangle.
Round off all the edges on the hood. Depending on your material you need to go back and hem everything. I didnât use a hood liner because my material is see through. If you want a hood liner, then attach your triangle bits to each other before attaching them to the hood, and do this so you have two sets of two. Then sew the two hoods together, seams touching. Then you can attach the hood to the shawl-y bit.Â
Iâm going to hem mine, clean up the edges a bit, and maybe add some lace trim. The hood stays up pretty well on itâs own, but Iâm planning on holding it in place with decorative pins when I wear it out. I didnât put the folds in mine, because I didnât think it would look good on the see-through material
Little question here, would you explain how braiding and veiling relate to Dodekatheism? I'm genuinely curious
Of course! I would love to!
Veiling, and more so binding, ones hair in ancient Hellas was a very common thing. It was almost exclusively done by women at that time, while men were found to do it only at funerary rites (in which the women went veilless, and I believe unbound as well). It was a way that women could protect themselves from miasma, aka, the pollution and distraction of everyday life. In ritual, it was a simple and affective way to have that protection and show that you were wanting to stay away from it. Ritual impurity, though nothing close to sin, was something that Dodekatheists in ancient times wanted to avoid and minimize as much as they possibly could.
It was also a cultural and societal norm, something seen so often that it isnât discussed much in historical texts. You can find evidence of it in art, epics like the Odyssey, pottery, etc. I personally find it fulfilling because it helps me connect to my religious ancestors, reminds me to continuously honour the Theoi and work towards Arete, and of course keep miasma away. I actually made a blog a long time ago on an old account, and its still there for any of you that are interested in learning more about this topic. It is called @hellenic-veiling. I hope that my explanation, and the resources on that blog, can help you make sense of it!Khaire, and thanks for the question! â¤

âHuman survival does indeed depend on a sacramental relation to nature. Now that this relation has been betrayed, and destroyed, we know how important it was. And is. A sacramental bond between our earliest human ancestors and the natural world was the primary factor in our evolutionânot simply as a physical species, but as conscious beings. For this bonding set up a resonance in which all art, all religious ritual, all magic-alchemical science, all spiritual striving for illumination was born. As primal people have always experienced it, when you look and listen to nature, something appears, something always speaks. Animism is still a valid relationship. If âmodern manâ neither sees nor hears, the fault is in his dead sensorium.â
Today and tomorrow are âSpongecake Dayâ, a modern observance in honour of the time ten years ago that some silly person tried to tell a Loki devotee on this here hellsite(affectionate) that their offering wasnât good enough (presumably because they felt that real offerings have to be a serious sacrifice). In true Lokean fashion, the conversation about how deities prefer to be celebrated by devotees was moved forward through viral humour, rebellion, and a staggering number of sweets. Todayâs a good time to question who the rules serve, change them as necessary, and share something -fun- with your deities.

Okay Iâm petitioning help from the community because my research skills have reached its limits. Or well more like I got impatient and figured Iâd ask for help instead of smacking myself a few times in the head with my copy of The Iliad.
Does anyone have any historical information on Aphroditeâs epithets Epitumbidia (she upon the graves) and Tumborukhos (gravedigger)??
I found them mention in The Gods of Greece by C. Kerenyi, but thereâs no sources listed to indicate where the author got that information.
And whenever I search I either get epithet lists or more articles that donât list their sources.
I just want some archeological or literary proof of where/how these epithets were used.
In literary sources, the epithet Epitumbia is found in Plutarchâs Lives, Numa, 12.1Â
The Pontifices also explain and direct the ancestral rites of burial for those who desire it, and they were taught by Numa not to regard any such offices as a pollution, but to honour the gods below also with the customary rites, since they receive into their keeping the most sovereign part of us, and particularly the goddess called Libitina, who presides over the solemn services for the dead, whether she is Proserpina, or, as the most learned Romans maintain, Venus; thereby not inaptly connecting manâs birth and death with the power of one and the same goddess.
But what interests us is the ibidem linked to it:Â
First, Vinciane Pirenne-Delforge in LâAphrodite Grecque comments on this epithet. I wonât be quoting a 3 page long extract so hereâs a quick summary (pages 299-301 if you want to read the whole thing). First, there is a case of syncretism between the roman goddess Libitina and Venus/Aphrodite. Libitina is a funerary goddess and it is thought that the syncretism happened through Etruscan influence. That being said, if we trust Plutarch, we have the information that the Delphi Aphrodite was already linked to the afterlife as her statue in Delphi served as a âmeeting pointâ between the inhabitants of Delphi and their deads. Pirenne-Delforge goes on to say that Epitumbia as an epithet raises Aphrodite as a protector of the graves, in which case it would be possible to imagine that the statue was placed close to a cemetary which would explain the mention of libations to honor the dead, most likely in the aim of creating some kind of contact between the two worlds and/or have Aphrodite as an appeasing figure between the two worlds.Â
This idea is also touched on by Gabriella Pironti in Entre Ciel et Terre: Figures dâAphrodite en Grèce ancienne (2007, p. 83).
Feel free to google translate for a complete translation, but I will paraphrase here quickly: Pironti starts by saying that the strong theme of life that Aphrodite represents doesnât take her away from the realm of death, as both notions are linked. She then wonders if the extract from Plutarch which introduces us to the idea of Aphrodite Epitumbia in Delphi as a funerary goddess has something to do with the idea of asking the goddess through ritual to strenghten the souls of the dead/revigorate life. However, it is also possible that Aphroditeâs role was one of appeasing the dead and avoid their wrath in the physical realm or, as a way to get closer to the dangerous Erinyes.Â
The rest of the extract is about the other epithet you asked about, Tumborukhos. First, she tells us this epithet is attested from Clement of Alexandriaâs work (important detail bc late Antiquity + Christian source) concerning Argos. Pironti says itâs difficult to draw the conclusion from this alone that Aphrodite had a funerary role because it might just be about the weakening of life and destruction of life force that are attached to the idea of eros and to the aphrodisias.Â
Hereâs the translation :
âThe fact Aphrodite is related, more than any other divinity, to the generative power and the vital force doesnât keep her away from the themes of death, divine powers preposed to the destruction of life or to the mortal destiny of men : the genenis and phtora are part of a same process.
Nothing, therefore, prevents that goddess from being mentionned in a funerary context : in Delphi, according to Plutarque, Aphrodite wore the epiclesis Epitumbia (âupon the graveâ)and her cult image received the libations that were destined to the dead. Was the aim to reinvigorate the souls of the dead, the length of a ritual, with the aid of Aphroditeâs power when it comes to regenerate life, in order to communicate with them? Maybe. But it canât be excluded that, in that precise context, Aphrodite was invoked to avoid the wrath of the deceased, or that, by those honors, she was made propicious; for she was a powerful goddess similar, in what regards her darker side, to the Erinyes.
Clement of Alexandria depicts her in a yet more negative way when he attributes to the Argian Aphrodite the troubling epiclesis of âTumboruchosâ, âshe that digs the graveâ. It is hard to come to the conclusion that this would indicate any funerary prerogatives of the goddess. Indeed, that sinister name could as well allude to the withering of and destruction of vital forces often linked to the eros and to the aphrodisia.âÂ
Acidalia- âof the Well of Acidaliusâ, âof the Troublesâ. Aphrodite bathed in the Well of Acidalius with the Graces. The Well was near Orchomenos. The second interpretation connects Aphrodite with troubles- either bringing them or soothing them as she sees fit.
Acraea-Â âof the Heightsâ. This epithet is shared by many deities whose temples were situated upon hills including Zeus, Hera, Aphrodite, and Athena.
Alitta- This epithet combines Aphrodite with the Arabian Goddess Al-lat. Al-lat may have been considered the Great Goddess of Pre-Islamic Arabia, whose domain covered everything from the stars to the Underworld.
Amathusia-Â âof Amathusâ. This was an epithet common in Amathus, a city in Cyprus. This city was one of Aphroditeâs most ancient centers of worship.
Ambologera-Â âPostponer of Old Ageâ. This epithet was common in Sparta and statues were dedicated to this aspect of the Goddess there.
Amyclaeus-Â âof Amyklaiâ.
Anadyomene-Â âRisen from the Seaâ. This epithets relates to Aphroditeâs birth from the sea. This epithet did not gain popularity until Apelles made a painting showing Aphrodite drying her hair after leaving the ocean. The specific painting was placed in Asclepiusâ temple on Cos Island. (Augustus removed the painting for himself in exchange for reducing the taxes on Cos. By the time Nero was emperor, the painting was in bad shape and was replaced.)
Antheia- âthe Bloomingâ, âFriend of Flowersâ. This epithet was common in Cnossus.
Apaturus-Â âDeceptive Oneâ. This epithet was common in Phanagoria and Chersonesus (Tauros). The epithet originated in Tauros, where Aphrodite was supposedly attacked by giants. She asked Heracles for assistance. They both hid in a cavern. Aphrodite then seduced each giant into entering the cavern where they would then be slaughtered by Heracles.
Aphacitis-Â âof Aphaceâ. This epithet was common in Aphace, a city in Coele-Syria. There was a temple and oracle dedicated to Aphrodite in the city. Both were destroyed by Emperor Constantine.
Aphrogenea-Â âFoam-Bornâ.
Apostrophia-Â âAverter of Unlawful Desiresâ. This epithet was commonly used in Thebes. Aphrodite was said to remove lust and sinful desire from peopleâs hearts. It is said Harmonia, as well as Aphrodite the Heavenly and Aphrodite, Common to All the People, instituted the worship of this new aspect of Aphrodite in Thebes. Historically, it may be that worship of Harmonia and the first two aspects of Aphrodite began in Thebes first, eventually generating a new form of worship.
Aracynthias-Â âof Mt Aracynthusâ. It is believed there was a temple to Aphrodite on Mt Aracynthus. However, the location of the actual mountain has never been confirmed.
Area- âof Aresâ, âWarlikeâ. This epithet was most commonly used at Sparta. She was often shown as being fully dressed in armor when called by this name.
Argennis- âMentor of Argennusâ. Argennus was a favorite of Agamemnon. Agamemnon tried to seduce him, but Argennus fled. He jumped into the Cephissus River and died. Agamemnon built a temple to this aspect of Aphrodite in honor of his love.
Berbia- This is a poorly understood epithet. Any suggestions on the meaning would be appreciated.
Callipygos- âof the Well-Shaped Buttocksâ. Statues of this aspect of Aphrodite are known for being soft, luxuriant, and round.
Castinia- âof Mt Kastionâ.
Castnietis- This is a poorly understood epithet. I believe it may mean âWisest of All the Sistersâ. Any suggestions on the meaning would be appreciated.
Catascopia- âSpyingâ, âPeepingâ
Cepois- âof the Gardensâ.
Chrysia- âGoldenâ.
Cnidia- âof Knidosâ. This epithet was common in Knidos, a city in Caria. This city held the famed statue of Aphrodite made by Praxiteles.

Cyprogenes- âBorn in Cyprusâ. In some versions of the theology, Aphrodite is born on Cyprus. The island is one of her most ancient areas of worship.
Cytherea- âof Kythereiaâ. Kythereia is the name of a city in Crete, as well as an island. Both of these places were said to be where Aphrodite made her first landfall. It is unknown which is which, but a temple was dedicated to this aspect of the Goddess.
Despoena- âthe Rulerâ, âthe Mistressâ. The epithet was shared by many Goddesses including Aphrodite, Demeter, and Persephone.
Dia- âDivineâ, âShiningâ, âDaughter of Zeusâ.
Dionaea- âof Dioneâ, âof Zeusâ. This name combined the Titaness Dione with Aphrodite. Dioneâs domain included the bright sky and water, which can be considered also domains of Aphrodite. Dioneâs parents were Oceanus and Tethys, making her a water nymph. Some sources have her father as Uranus or Aether and her mother as Gaia. She was one of the wives of Zeus and witnessed the birth of Apollo. Sometimes Dione and Zeus are named as the parents of Aphrodite. This epithet can also be applied to all symbols associated with either Dione or Aphrodite, such as the dove.
Doritis- âBountifulâ.
Epistrophia- âShe Who Turns to Loveâ.
Erykina- âof Eryxâ. The epithet was common on Mt Eryx in Sicily, where a famous temple was dedicated to the Goddess. The temple was built by Eryx, son of Aphrodite and Butes, King of Sicily. Although, it is also said Aeneias built the temple. Eryxâs daughter, Psophis, dedicated a temple to this aspect of the Goddess in Psophis, a city in Arcadia. At the beginning of the Second Punic War, this aspect of Aphrodite was introduced into Rome. Her first Roman temple was built in 181 BC at Porta Collatina.
Gamelii- âProtectress of Marriageâ. This was an epithet for all deities who worked to protect marriage and/or presided over marital rites. The deities who shared this epithet were Zeus, Hera, Aphrodite, Peitho, and Artemis. It was believed these five deities must be invoked in order to have a successful wedding and marriage. The Moirai also shared this epithet. However, it can be said any deity may be invoked under the epithet as all deities protect marriage. The month of Gamelion honors this aspect of the Gods. It was also celebrated during the festival of Gamelia.
Genetyllis- âProtectress of Birthsâ. This epithet was shared by Aphrodite and Artemis. It was also the name of a distinct Goddess who worked with Aphrodite. Deities who deal with generation and birth may also share this epithet, and were considered to be companions of Aphrodite of Kolias.
Hekaerge- âFar-Workingâ, âWorker from Afarâ, âMentor of Hekaergeâ. This epithet was shared by Artemis and Aphrodite. The first two interpretations related to Aphrodite. It was most commonly used in Iulus, a city on Cos Island.

Morpho- âof Shapely Formâ. This epithet was common in Sparta. She was often represented sitting and veiled, with her feet bound.
Nicephorus- âBringer of Victoryâ. This epithet was common among the deities.
Nymphia- âBridalâ.
Pandemos- âCommon to All the Peopleâ. This epithet is shared by Aphrodite and Eros. This epithet had a double meaning and strongly tied into Aphroditeâs role as a Love Goddess. Firstly, this epithet was used to refer to Aphrodite as a Goddess of Sex and other Sensual Pleasures. (Compare to this to Aphrodite of the Heavens.) Scopas built a statue to this aspect of the Goddess in the city of Elis where she rode as a ram. Secondly, this epithet refers to Aphroditeâs to unite people into a social and/or political body. This second aspect was worshiped in Athens alongside Peitho. It was instituted by Theseus when he united the scattered townships into the city-state of Athens. It is believed by some that Solon actually called for the erection of a sanctuary to the Goddess in Athens, either because her statue already stood in the agora or because courtesans were required to pay taxes to fund the project. This epithet was also common at Megalopolis in Arcadia and Thebes. Festivals to Aphrodite of this name consisted of the sacrifice of white goats.
Paphia- âof Paphosâ. A well-known temple was dedicated to Aphrodite at Paphos in Cyprus. This epithet was also common in Ino. A statue was dedicated to this aspect of the Goddess in the local sanctuary, between Oetylus and Thalamae in Laconia.

Pyrenaea- âof the Pyrenes Mtsâ.
Symmachia- âAllyâ. This epithet refers to Aphroditeâs role as a Goddess of Love.
Syria- âof Syriaâ, âthe Syrianâ. This epithet combined Astarte and Aphrodite. Astarte was a Middle Eastern Goddess of Fertility, Love, War, and Sex. It is possible Astarte and Aphrodite were originally the same Goddess since Aphroditeâs spread west into Cyprus and then into Greece. An alternative of this epithet is Syria Dea.
Urania- âHeavenlyâ, âDivineâ, âDaughter of Uranusâ. This aspect of the Goddess was specific to her role as Goddess of Love. It was usually contrasted with Aphrodite, Common to All the People. It also refers to the possibility of Aphrodite being Uranusâ daughter without a mother. Wine would not be an acceptable offering to this aspect of the Goddess.
Xenia- âof the Foreignerâ.
Zephyritis- âof Zephyriumâ. This epithet was common in Zephyrium, a city in Egypt.
Zerynthia- âof Zerynthusâ. This is a poorly understood epithet. This epithet was common in the Thracian city of Zerynthus. The local sanctuary was built by Phaedra.
I hope this is a helpful list for anyone interested in worshiping Aphrodite. These are her main epithets. I took out alternate spellings and epithets which had the same meanings but were less widely known than the ones shown here. I left similarly spelt epithets with very different meanings. Some epithets whose meanings are unknown appear in the list. Any help identifying these epithets would be awesome. If you are interested in ideas on when to use these epithets or inspiration based on them, shoot me an ask!

What is everything made of? Nowadays science tells us the answer is fundamental particlesâquarks, photons, possibly even strings. But since the ancients didn't have the technology to detect such things, they had many different theories. One of the more popular and well-known ones was the theory of four elements, and indeed those did play a role in Alchemy. But the 16th Century Swiss alchemist Paracelsus had a different theory: the Tria Prima
The Tria Prima (latin for "Three Primes") is a group of three materials which occupy a position of prominence in alchemy: Salt, Sulphur, and Mercury. It was thought that everything was made of these three: solid, permanent things were made of salt; fluid and changeable things were made of mercury; and combustible things were made of sulphur. In a sense this can be thought of as an evolution of the four elements, transitioning toward the modern idea of elements (in fact, sulphur and mercury are still on the periodic table). But more than that, the Tria Prima also has a spiritual aspect.
In this diagram, notice how the corners of the triangle have the words Anima, Spiritus, and Corpus (latin for soul, spirit, and body respectively). Each of these correspond with one of the Tria Prima. Salt represents the body, solid and physical, yet prone to deterioration over time. Sulphur represents the soul, the fire of life, as sulphur burns blue when ignited. Mercury represents the spirit (sometimes translated as mind), flexible and changing, the bridge between the body and soul. Thus, while the idea of the Tria Prima as fundamental elements is outdated, the trio of body, soul, and spirit that they represent remains an important aspect of Alchemy.
Sometimes you will have powerful moments that aren't signs and don't turn into anything.
Sometimes you'll encounter a hard "NO" and there won't be a way to turn it into a yes.
Sometimes you'll be very interested in a specific practice or method, you try it, and it just never really clicks the way you want it to.
Sometimes you'll click with a practice and can't find a community around it, or dislike who you do find.
Sometimes there aren't easy-digestible online resources for that thing you're curious about, and the only way to learn more is really digging to find old, dense books and scholarly papers.
Sometimes there's barely any information online and you'll have to do research "around" the subject and fill in the blanks yourself.
Sometimes you'll do a huge ritual and just not feel it like you'd hoped, or you don't get the results you wanted.
And that's all fine, that's life. That's normal. People love to talk online about the big powerful moments and the success stories because the everyday boring stuff or mildly disappointing stuff isn't very interesting to talk about. It's normal for your practice to not look as "exciting" as theirs because you see how the sausage gets made for your own but not theirs!

I was high off my ass last night and had this dream where I was in this dense ass forest and sitting there was a tall woman. She was so tall I couldnât see her face but she was wearing gold and I was like âuhâŚhi?â And she said âI made you, do you know that?â And I nodded and she was like âI hear your thoughts. Why do you hate my creation? Why do you try to destroy yourself? I made you perfect as you are. Please donât break my heartâ. Then she started crying and it flooded and I woke up with fucking heart palpitations like what does it Meanâ˘ď¸????
Everyone has their own technique for choosing a 'pile'. My recommendation is to clear your mind and focus on each image for a few seconds. The image you find yourself coming back to even when you focus on the other images is the pile for you.
Quick notes on this reading:
It's a long one -- This reading is a lot longer (I think) than what I typically post. I'd appreciate any feedback on the length since it's something I'm experimenting with.
The pile titles are colour-coded -- Hopefully, it helps make scrolling to the next section quicker.
Each pile references multiple scenarios -- some scenarios came through stronger than others, but I did my best to write what I was getting to be applied to situations not mentioned.
âźď¸ THIS READING IS MEANT FOR SELF-REFLECTION AND ENTERTAINMENT PURPOSES ONLY -- While this reading does contain a bit of advice and reflective questions, IT'S IN NO WAY SHAPE OR FORM MEANT TO REPLACE PROFESSIONAL ADVICE OF ANY KIND. Please use your discretion, think carefully before you act and only take what resonates be it a little, some or none at all. (The usual disclaimer is at the bottom).
PILE 1 (Scrapbook)
Who are you?
Cards: The Poet, The Founder rev, The Queen of Roses
This pile may be the pile for you if any of the following resonates:
Wanting to connect or being very connected to your loving, nurturing and supportive side. You've been receiving messages or sensing that a new connection is on the horizon. Motherhood/parenthood or marriage. Seeking resolutions to a relationship. Leaving behind relationships that have been in your life forever. Giving too much to others. Ending toxic relationships. Finding or wanting freedom. Finding your voice. Finding you. Tapping into your creative side. A quest for happiness.
If none of these individual sentences resonate feel free to check out a different pile.
Who will you become throughout this next chapter?
Cards: The Muse, The Gambler
You will begin to bloom. Maybe not fully, but youâll be more open to taking the necessary steps (which may feel like risk) to flourish. The end result will be you tapping into your creativity and creator energy. But also putting in the work, and changing your approach. I pulled all the cards at once so being able to take in all the cards at once, itâs this sense of making you happen. Gone will be the sense of being who you think you should or are expected to be. Youâll be gaining a new sense of self that is brighter and more wild. The risk is non-existent. Itâs more perceived. It seems like a risk to indulge in the aspects of yourself that may seem like theyâre more whimsy, but by actually making those things happen, you will transform into someone who can inspire themself. You wonât have to look for inspiration elsewhere, youâll have it there within you.
How will you find success?
Cards: 3 of Keys (The Chess Game), The King rev
Through changing your tactic. This chapter wonât necessarily be easy. There will be conflict with those around or above you, especially if this relates to career or relationships, possibly even both. Detach from the situation and be objective. Waiting for your opening will be the key to your success. For some, itâs a situation where everyone is only looking out for themself and Iâm picking up that it's creating a stalemate. With the king reversed, you know whatâs best in the situation but someone with more authority than you or a level of seniority if this is a personal relationship thinks they know better but they donât. Itâs about being firm and holding your own as well as not letting your emotions, or the part of you thatâs super connected to the situation, get the best of you and influence you to make rash decisions.
Challenges you may meet:
Cards: The Astronomer, The Orator, Reflection rev.
I see the biggest challenge here for you being one of mastering yourself in this next chapter. Thereâs a battle between your emotions and your intuition. To navigate this you need to have a conversation with yourself and determine why youâre having such strong emotions. Where are these feelings stemming from? The astronomer card is here to remind you that whatever the situation is, itâs not really about the past-- itâs not going to help you navigate this chapter. Especially if youâve been acting according to whatâs expected of you when the current/upcoming situation(s) requires you to do what is true to you. I hope I'm not repeating myself too much here, but the challenge becomes exploring the why behind the emotions so you can better make decisions and listen to your intuition. BUT, keep in mind that it doesnât mean not to listen to your emotions at all.
Another message here is that working with other people may also show up as a challenge. There's a reminder to listen to other people's perspectives but also know that choosing to hear someoneâs POV doesnât mean you have to absorb it as yours either.
Finally, even when it gets tough, donât doubt yourself. Take your time. It may seem like you have to have it all figured out and know what to say and which decision to make, but not really. Itâs easy to feel that way when it feels like everything is at stake, but again, if you feel that way, pause and ask yourself why? Once you have your why, you can take on the world.
Lessons To Be Learned:
Cards: The Painter, 8 of keys (the master artisan)
This definitely feels like it relates to career or passion projects, but of course, just adjust to your individual situation. It may or may not mean anything, but your cards have lots of florals.
Your lessons in this next chapter of life relate to learning to connect with yourself, speaking up and putting yourself out there. Your energy is one that makes me feel like you have such an amazing talent you're hesitant to embrace. You have so much to learn and just as much to offer... this is the beginning of that journey. Donât be shy. There are opportunities out there waiting, you just have to figure out the way to pursue them that is most authentic to you. Even if itâs simply an opportunity to give love and kindness. I know I focused a lot on career and creativty, but this goes for relationships too. There is a lot of heavy energy covering this beautiful light-hearted one that just wants to break free. If you are considering going into teaching or taking up a teaching opportunity (not necessarily even in a formal education system) or enrolling in a course of some kind, I feel like this is a nod to say go for it. Especially pottery or beadwork? Trade work as well, maybe even culinary school or food-related skills. (I could be projecting there on the culinary aspect though as that's what I did and the imagery on the card reminds me of it).
Advice to take with you in this next chapter:
The hound and pear (loyalty) â This card is always a bittersweet card whenever I see it. The message here is one of loyalty and friendship. A new relationship (of any kind), one founded on friendship, is precious but also delicate. Don't make irrevocable decisions based on conclusions. It must be treated with care on both sides because it can be damaged easily.
The deer and oat (healing) â Rest and recharge. Moderation and mindfulness are also key for recovering from difficult or intense situations. Ask yourself, how you can rest and nurture yourself?
The snake and fern (starting over) â itâs time to finish breaking free from the past so you can become something new. So you can return to your true self. What has protected you and brought you to this point? Are you in a position to release it? Are there any parts of your past self that you can regrow from (like snipping off part of a plant that may be unhealthy and leaving the rest so it can re-catch itself, not sure why I picked that analogy) or must you grow anew? (Planting a new seed, from the old plant. The essence is still there but a completely new plant will grow)
If you made it this far I appreciate it. Feedback is welcomed and if there's a topic you'd like me to cover in a pac, feel free to let me know!
Pile 2 (Compass)
If youâre drawn to pile 1 feel free to check that out as well.
Who are you?
Cards: The Oracle of Delphi, the Sentinel, the Forgotten
This pile may be the pile for you if any of the following resonates:
Intuitive. Connected to a higher power. Diety work. Past lives. Psychic powers. Perseverance. Fighting back. Confidence threatening to become arrogance. Dominance dancing on the lines of domineering. A force to be reckoned with. Someone who's sometimes brash. Amor fati (love of fate). An academic. Dreamlight Valley. Self-esteem issues (past or present). Someone who was looked past and from it learned not to try. Fear. Anxiety. A lost soul stumbling in the dark. Chaos. Morally grey. *You may be an avid reader or enjoy fantasy media as well.
My Overall Impression: Youâre a force to be reckoned with and reckon you will. Your energy is just pure power and chaos. I low-key feel like youâre battling with life/the universe (call it what you prefer, thatâs just how I prefer to call it). Thereâs this energy of "Try me" and the universe is like "I got one for you, watch and see". But thereâs no malice. I just get fed-up vibes from you and the response from life is like "Okay đ, but chill." Enemies to lovers with life itself.
Who will you become throughout this next chapter?
Cards: The Ark of the Covenant, Beith â Birth, The Queen, The Assassin
The Queen and The Assassin flew out with such fury! Youâre going to become someone worthy of wearing a crown. But it comes at a price, though itâs not one you can sit around and sulk about. The next chapter of your life reminds me of being forged in fire. Now youâre stepping into the role and identity of someone who can achieve your goals. Itâs dark at times, but youâre gaining the skills to do what you want to do and I get the feeling this "thing" you're meant to do is one you may feel on a deep or soul level. (It is) fulfilling a higher calling or purpose. At the very least, youâre becoming someone who has decided that this is the last time they repeat a cycle.
Youâre working towards something more and it feels like by the end of this chapter, youâll be granted a brief reprieve. Thereâs still more work to be done though. Youâre stepping into a new era where so much will grow from you. For some of you, a new romantic relationship is coming in and/or you're expanding your family-- that includes found family as well.
How will you find success?
Cards: 4 of Roses (views of the ego) the Witch. Rev
The first message that comes through is that your success lies in cutting someone off. Someone selfish and self-absorbed to be exact. Itâs a relationship youâve stayed in too long... they could have had some kind of hold over you, not necessarily in a controlling way, but they could have meant something on a deep level which could have been why you held on. You may have done a lot youâre not happy with because youâve done it with this person in mind. Cutting ties with them grants you success as it allows you to focus on whatâs truly important to you.
The other message with the witch reversed is the importance of remembering that while youâre forging your own path, itâs okay to look to others who have made it or 'gotten out'. Maybe they havenât gone through the exact same thing, but it doesnât mean there isnât wisdom in the stories of others whoâve forged through and paved their own way as well. Pile one was about breaking away from the expected, but youâre being called to review what is expected and see if thereâs anything worth considering. Kind of like shopping around for inspiration? You might come across someone else's story and it might spark an idea within you on how to navigate your own.
Challenges you may meet--
Cards: The Tailor Rev, The Scribe
Your challenges in this next chapter involve trying not to force your will upon the flow of your life and refining your focus. I know, I said forged in fire. Thereâs an imbalance of sorts... instead of firing and hoping you hit the target (your goal), you need to pause and take a good look at whatâs working vs what isnât. The 'wheel of life' worksheet/exercise comes to mind but I personally hate that exercise so much. I bring it up because it allows you to get a visual of what areas of your life you've been focusing on vs neglecting and pinpoint which areas of your life youâre lacking in. From there you can further assess and gain a better grasp on what you should be focusing on. After all, you can do anything, but you canât do everything.
With the scribe, you may need to study or fine-tune your skills regarding a specific matter more. Here, there's something you need to learn to influence your life in the way you want, but you have to take the time to figure out what it is that you need to learn. It doesnât have to be formal learning either. It could be something such watch a YouTube video, reading a book or article, or even taking a free online course or masterclass. Nothing is too big or too small here, as long as it's helping you to develop to get from point A to B.
Lessons To Be Learned:
Cards: 8 or scrolls (path unknown), the diviner, the puppeteer
The 8 of scrolls here reminds you that youâve been travelling on a path where you know the outcomes, but to get to where you want to be sometimes requires walking down paths that may mean you donât know whatâs going to happen until it happens. At the same time, thatâs how opportunities we didnât know we needed arise. In the card imagery, thereâs a basket next to the girl filled with scrolls, the same type of scrolls pictured in the scribe card. I think for you itâs learning the skill or information I mentioned that is going to help you feel more confident and assured on this path youâre following. Youâve got the energy of the queen archetype (regardless of gender), and though it may be a challenge, youâve equipped yourself with the skills necessary to go after what you want. Youâll have what it takes 100% to move on to the next phase (after this one we're talking about).
The Diviner is about divine timing and evaluation. Here youâve done all that you can with what is in your control. Whatâs left now is waiting for your desires outcomes to come to fruition. While you canât rush or force things, you can make sure you set yourself up for success when you get it. So let's say you're waiting on receiving a sum of money, in the meantime you can learn/brush up on the skills to manage money etc.
Finally with the puppeteer, mending relationships could also be a lesson. Although I think itâs more about learning to interact with others better? But also remembering that sometimes apologies can mend relationships and other times they canât. Going back to that relationship mentioned way before, it could be a matter of "are you willing to forgive the other person if they were to apologise and see the error of their ways?" (Though with the type of person mentioned that may be unlikely but, who knows).
Another possibility with the assassin card is that you may ruffle feathers at some point, so you may learn the power or limits of an apology in that sense as well.
Advice to take with you in this next chapter:
The Finch and Peach (romance) â romance is on its way to you. Things to ponder on could be: do you feel ready to welcome love into your life? What are some things that make you feel loved/how do you like to receive love?
The Marten and Foxglove (mischief) â this card asks you to stay open to opportunities that allow you to tap into your playful side, be spontaneous or travel. Ask yourself how can you make room for spontaneity? (It could be through trying new foods, reading a different genre, visiting a place you wouldnât typically visit, changing up your daily routine etc). Also are you at a point where you can open yourself to new adventures, big or small?
The Boar and Pumpkin (confidence) â Youâre not wrong to be confident in yourself, donât let anyone tell you otherwise. Take a moment to acknowledge your accomplishments and think about what youâve done that youâre proud of (doesnât always have to be tangible, it can also be mindsets, situations youâve walked from etc).
The Snake and Fern (starting over) â Again, if you were drawn to pile one, I suggest you check that out. Here this card nods to beginning a new and asks you to see if there are any parts of yourself you can return to, or if itâs time to completely start anew and discover yourself from scratch.
If you made it this far I appreciate it. Feedback is welcomed and if there's a topic you'd like me to cover in a pac, feel free to let me know!
Pile 3 (The Trunks/Suitcase)
Who are you?
Cards: The Smith, The Twins, The Lookout, The Askashic Library, 3 of Forces (Birdâs Nest)
This pile may be the pile for you if any of the following resonates:
The overthinker. Having a twin or prominent Gemini placements. If you're considering something youâve been wanting to do for a while but keep putting off. A relationship with someone in which you both started on the same path but they went in another direction. Holding onto resentment. Feel like everything is up in flames. Writing. Seeking self-awareness. Manifesting. Intuitive. *Read that book youâve been meaning to read. Needing a backup plan. Expanding. Hopeful prospects.
*If this doesn't feel like your pile, and you were eyeing pile 4, definitely check it out. This pile was actually the last I pulled and the hardest to read for and it felt like many aspects of it related to other piles as well. I recommend checking out a secondary pile in general if you were drawn to one.
Who will you become throughout this next chapter?
Cards: The Waker, The Runaway, The Warrior (Sorry, I forgot to write down some of the cards đ¤Śââď¸, I believe it was 'Fated Meeting' and 'Queen of Scrolls')
Youâre becoming someone who is becoming centred/aligned and more intuitive. Your internal world and external world are going to become more connected. Connected to your âhigher selfâ as well, itâs going to be you vs you (levelling up). Youâre going to become someone who can face the things youâve been running from head-on.
That thing youâve been putting off, youâre going to be able to finally put into action. Coming into being filled with inspiration, clarity and direction. This is especially if youâre considering careers/education, or projects in the fields of writing, publishing, marketing, communication, counselling or teaching. If youâre seeking a mentor, this person could help guide you to becoming this way. It could also be someone in your life already that may help you who is in one of these fields.
For a select few of you, youâre becoming the version of you that was meant to meet your person. If itâs not a romantic partner, then youâre coming into contact with a soulmate (meant as someone you have a âsoul bondâ with).
Where Will You Find Success?
Cards: 4 of Keys (Clearing The Way), Reflection, The Cartographer rev, The Weaver
If you find yourself prone to many different avenues of ideas and project but never settling on one, youâre going to find your success through settling on one thing and focusing on it. Itâs time for you stop buckle down and stick with one of those brilliant ideas of yours and make it happen.
Also while it may be time for you to focus on one thing professionally or creatively, when it comes to yourself, itâs time to embrace all the pieces of you that seem random. It reminds me of this post I saw a couple of days ago about how we don't have to force ourselves fit perfectly into an aesthetic... that it's okay to have and embrace parts of your personality that are completely left field of the other bits that go hand in hand. So for some of you, maybe itâs time to embrace all the pieces of you that donât go together neatly. Maybe thatâs why you have these ideas and start them and then ditch them, because youâre a multifaceted being and youâre not allowing yourself to be so and that is the way it manifests in your life? Maybe itâs time to learn how to let all the sides of you coexist without getting lost. Food for thought maybe?
Regardless, itâs time to remove distractions that are holding you back. Tap into your intuition. Become more aware of your emotions. There's a sense of self-mastery is needed here.
Challenges You May Meet?
Cards: The Pathless, The Miser, 1 of Scrolls (On Track), Up In The Air, 6 of Forces (The Waterfall) rev
Your challenges kind of relate to the things that were mentioned already. Being in your head, overthinking things, being unable to settle, but also trying to avoid falling into a headspace where youâre being pessimistic and stubborn. Just because you stick to one thing doesnât mean you canât shift and adjust your approach. And if you find that youâre really stuck donât be afraid to just take a step back. If this is all relating to something where other people are giving you their unsolicited advice, donât be afraid to brush it off and say âHey, I might have hit a block but trust that I know what Iâm doingâ. Another scenario is to not internalise any unsolicited advice or opinions because I feel like that could be a trigger for getting lost in your head for some of you.
For overthinking, it'll be about learning to accept that you wonât be able to know the exact outcome of certain things. If youâre working with someone else, then feeling like you are in control or that you have a say may be the challenge. For others, the challenge may simply be making the decision or committing. It could also be coming to terms with the fact that you waited so long to pursue this goal.
Lessons To Be Learned:
Cards: The Brawler, The Forgotten, 2 of Roses (The Winged Messengers), Uriel and the Sphinx, the king of roses
With the Forgotten youâll learn that you canât be afraid of mistakes. Mistakes help you grow. You'll come to realise how much fear has been holding you back. There's also learning how to make something out of your anxiety. Learning not to run from conflict or maybe how to properly address it could also be another lesson. This could be regarding internal conflict or conflict with another person as I am getting multiple scenarios come up.
Again there's a message here that for some of a romantic suitor specifically coming in. Overall for everyone thereâs an important relationship making its way into your life. The mentor shows up as a neutral energy throughout the reading (or balanced feminine and masculine). Their energy is thoughtful, nurturing/comforting and supportive.
Advice â
The Goat and Willow (overdoing obstacle) â even though there are losses to suffer, you can overcome them with renewed energy and the right balance. When obstacles appear, prioritise realigning yourself with your goals. You can even get ahead of the game and brainstorm ways to handle potential obstacles before they arise.
The Chipmunk and Laurel (success) â Your path to success will be a unique one, one you have to create on your own, but there will be adventures along the way.
The Elk and Ash (strength) â Donât be afraid to fight back when met with a challenge.
If you made it this far I appreciate it. Feedback is welcomed and if there's a topic you'd like me to cover in a pac, feel free to let me know!
Pile 4 (The plane around the world)
CW: Brief implication of strong language
Who are you?
Cards: The storyteller, the mascareri, 1 of roses (commitment), 6 of roses (the war of roses)
This pile may be the pile for you if any of the following resonates:
Someone who struggles with the 'self'. You may hide your true self and struggle to accept others' true selves. For you, you could spend a lot of time crafting your persona. For some of you you maybe in positions where you delegate to others or are responsible for others' behaviour (managerial or boss positions). Some of you could work with kids or want to work with kids. Putting on a mask. Neurodivergence. You could enjoy writing or be a writer of some kind. The arts. Struggling with a partnership (romantic or business), trying to balance honouring yourself and their wishes? Conflicted about a relationship. Feeling like there's a battle between your head vs your heart.
Who will you become throughout this next chapter?
Cards: 4 of Scrolls rev (The Karmic Trenches), The Patron rev, The poet
Youâre becoming someone with so much to offer and is still looking to grow. However, people may want to take advantage of that. Becoming someone who doesnât hesitate and is in love with life. Embracing that life is imperfect. Becoming more vulnerable. Finding like-minded people. Embracing happiness. Tapping into your creative spirit. There could be an ending of some kind, though you didnât want it, it brought a world full of new opportunities. You're finally breaking a pattern but also having the awareness to know when youâre tip-toeing along the lines of going back. Coming out of the dark. This sense of being healed on multiple levels and being able to finally experience joy.
Where will you find success?
Cards: The Astronomer Rev, The Hound, 5 of forces (summer/winter), 7 of keys (The Ascent)
Youâre going to be finding success through setting long-term goals. If this is about a financial situation especially, then also finding a balance between focusing on what is necessary and not letting the 'wishlist' desires lead you astray. It can apply to any situation in general though. Focusing on whatâs necessary and the things you would like to do coming afterwards.
There's also a matter of assessing where your loyalties or priorities lie and releasing habits, relationships, and ideas that are no longer serving you. Loyalty and staying true to your word might be something you value heavily and stand by, but I also see you finding success in this next chapter of your life by realising, you know what, sometimes you have to cut your ties, count any losses and move on because staying is only doing more harm than good. For some of you who have a relationship in mind or the relationship part resonated with you, this is especially true.
Taking action in general will bring success. This chapter could either close out or begin in the summer, or summer will mark an important time for you. With the 7 of keys, your success is guaranteed as long as you put in the work.
Challenges You May Meet:
Cards: The Founder, The Shepard, 3 of Scrolls (Setting Your Course), Caught in The Ruins
With The Founder, a challenge you might run into is needing to put yourself before someone else who is asking you for your help, although I'm also feeling it maybe asking you to put them first. You might struggle to determine whether or not you should offer them your help. The Shepard urges you to step up and take the lead when others need guidance. However, I think the best question to ask is what kind of person do you have to show up as in order to offer them your support? And also what type of person do you have to show up as to meet your goals? Iâd say make a decision on how to proceed based on whether the two can successfully coincide or not.
A lot of different situations come up in this pileâ relationships, career/finance, behaviours⌠but the common theme here seems to come down to mindset. Whatever the situation is that has you feeling trapped, you have to realise that itâs not definitive, even if it seems that way in your head. It seems like a lot of what is going on, and what you have to overcome, is self-sabotage and realising that just because youâve always done something a certain way or a situation has always played out that way, doesnât mean it will always be that way. You have the power to change; the challenge here simply lies in picking yourself up and dusting yourself off. Thereâs so much more out there for you than what youâre seeing right now. If relocating or travelling, especially where you have to cross the ocean, is something youâre hoping to do, then the end of this chapter weâre discussing in this reading might be the beginning of that next chapter in your life.
Lessons To Be Learned:
Cards: 3 of Roses (Loving Elementals), 5 of Roses (The Garden)
The lessons here are about having a sense of child like wonder, and learning to find joy and exploration in life. Being able to laugh and play and find inspiration once more. If any of you have been thinking about starting a family (not necessarily right away) then itâs likely that this chapter will set you up for that. If not then I think a matter of legacy here. Being exposed to opportunities to nurture and grow the future you desire.
Youâll learn that sometimes you are the one who has to be the catalyst to change your life. I love this line from the guidebook of my Citadel Orcale cards regarding the catalyst. It says â You are the bolt of lightning that topples the towerâ. If you think about the Tower card in the traditional tarot deck, thereâs lightning striking the tower and setting it on fire. Whenever it comes up it talks about upheaval and thereâs often a sense of âoh great, somethingâs about to come **** up my lifeâ but maybe [we] should consider that weâre not always the tower, but instead, we are the lightning. You have to make the decision to do or become something different, even if goes against what you've always known or what everyone tells you you should do.
Whatâs also important is not dwelling on past mistakes or regrets, itâs about learning from what happened and using it to make a better decision. Stop doubting yourself and overthink until your head hurts. Give yourself some grace and self-compassion. Take your time, changing isnât going to happen overnight and often times we have to adjust to who weâre allowing ourselves to become.
Advice to take with you in this next chapter:
The Bee and Pomegranate (productivity) rev â If you find yourself struggling with procrastination, donât be afraid to rest a while before giving whatever it is another go. Consider what makes you productive as well as what you can do to change why youâre not feeling productive towards another task.
The Racoon and Sycamore (curiosity) â The time is now to do some self-exploration. Explore new interests and hobbies as well as take time to think about how youâve evolved and how youâd like to further evolve.
The Finch and Peach (romance) â Love is on its way to you. (I did kind of feel like itâs romantic love but it wasn't a prominent message in the reading.)
The Bear and Cedar (leadership) â Youâre being guided towards leadership opportunities but remember to âruleâ with fairness and care. Ask yourself how can you be a better leader? Who can benefit from your knowledge and experience?
If you made it this far I appreciate it. Feedback is welcomed and if there's a topic you'd like me to cover in a pac, feel free to let me know!
