      to be honest, that was the last thing he expected to hear. he cocks his head to the side, uncertain at first if he was serious or not. when he determined that, yes, he was, jules shrugs. “ i’unno---never tried it. but... ” he offers a smile; his eyes twinkling. “ if i were to guess, i’d say something like a sour patch kid. sweet and sour. ”

         “ i mean----i could do that. pull a rabbit out of a hat. ” he pauses, thinking if he wants to actually pull the silly magician trick, but then he shrugs, discarding the idea. “ but i’ll show you something much cooler----and it’ll be the real deal. ” the rabbit trick was cool but... totally fake. “ i want you to count to five and once you reach five, take a deep breath, and say the first thing that comes to mind. can you do that ? ”

      damn... she’s thought of everything ! at this point julian realizes he’s kind of screwed and just sighs, loudly, and with exaggeration. “ ....alright, fine. i’ll be the coolest kid on the block, at least. ” they both know he would have submitted either way; he’s got a----sadly-----soft spot for her. he wrinkles his nose at the thought. “ just remember that when i burn, you’re the one whose gonna have’ta deal with it. ” he’s rolling his eyes, though there may be a hint of a smile there on his lips...maybe, as he plops down everything he’s holding next to her before doing the same. “ what now ?? ”

        “ new here ? ” he repeats, tilting his head to the side at the question. he considers how he wants to respond before he casually shrugs his shoulders. “ i mean ----- not technically ? i’m just passin’ through, really. thought i’d stay a few days. guess i came at the right time, eh ?? ”

        “ wait, wait------wait. ” he holds up his hand; a signal for ‘stop’. he clears his throat, eyebrows raised towards his hairline. “ did.... wait, who is selling their soul ? because the last i checked, the only ones to sell their soul to satan are demons. ” he’s met a few demons; they’re not as bad as they’re perceived, but they can be assholes. “ i think you’re forgetting that werewolves are animalistic in nature. i don’t think you would want to meet one face to face. ” he snorts. he may never have met a werewolf before, but now he hates them.
