Goodbye and Thank You.
I have not touched this blog in a while. At first it was because I was busy with life, then covid reached it’s peak and I lost a family member. I didn't think that I could lose anymore but the hits kept coming. I kept losing my family and now I have lost everything in two years time because of covid, and I have no family left now.
I made this blog to help me through grief. It was the first time I had lost a family member, then later on being fresh out of a job I wanted something to take my mind off of it all. By saying this, Im sure you all know where this is going and why I am writing this. Technoblade was one of the biggest steps in my healing process. (along with dream) I won’t tell you how many hours I had spent watching his videos and his vods nor how excited I was the first time I spoke in his chat even if I only chanted along with everyone else like: BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD!!!!!!! etc. He made me smile, he made me forget everything I was dealing with and because of him I have met the most wonderful people, a best friend. He inspired me to write, “Who’s a Heretic Now” with his quick wit he gave me courage to write about things I was afraid to touch. I related deeply to him- we both had adhd, loved greek poetry and I had also wanted to be an english major. Though unlike Techno I was never able to have the chance due to my mental health an lack of funds. Who’s a Heretic Now was my first ever long written series and it was a hit surprisingly. I couldn’t believe it back then, and I kept going, writing and writing even as I struggled. I have had good and bad days with this blog. I have had kind messages and I have had utterly hateful ones. But, I was starting to get better, in some ways I felt this was a new chapter in my life Then I lost a parent. They- had done so much for me, encouraged me to write here, to keep going and reaching those mile stones, would celebrate with me as my follower count rose, and even helped me by researching ko-if for me back when I thought of opening commissions. After I lost them. I couldn’t touch this blog, I couldn’t bare to speak to anyone from here they where drenched in far to many memories to do so. I shut myself away, it was to painful to speak to breath, to live.
And now, this...
I have only come back to give a final goodbye to you all.
The loss of Technoblade is far to much for me, I don’t think I can even open this blog after I post this. While I may never have known that man myself, his loss has shaken me to my very core. I have nothing but empathy for Technos family and his friends, it is never easy to lose someone you love. I hope they are able to heal and be left alone as their peace of mind is all that matters.
I almost want to write an open letter to him, even though I know he will never see it but. What could I say, that millions of people haven’t already said- he inspired me, he helped heal me, he gave me the courage to move forward to move on he made me laugh while I was within my darkest hours. He has left an amazing legacy, something that even once I am old and grey will still stand. He has forever made his marks in the history books, and it’s amazing to have been one of those millions of people who loved him who was able to watch this amazing journey of his.
All of you, everyone who follows this blog, every comment you all have sent was appreciated. Every reblog, every like, every person telling me I could do it. For every friend, for those who stood by me as I felt my world crumbling apart I thank you. I thank you deeply from the bottom of my heart for the understanding, the caring, and listening ear you gave me.
While at times I feel like I have nothing more to lose, that's not true I still do. I still have plenty to lose, and this is why I’m going to live my life to the fullest. I will live as loudly and proudly as I can, as I refuse to die with regrets. I’m going to do everything that I have wished an dreamed of doing every since I was a little kid. I want to live happily, freely...
This is a goodbye, but as you all know goodbyes are never for forever even if they seem to be.
May I meet you all again in a brighter future. So here is to Technoblade, may your next life be long, and may it be just as happy as the one you have lived before.
- Merlin
