Found several packs' worth of pokemon cards strewn across a target parking lot and took a pic to show my friends without realizing how much my outfit elevated the scene to "aftermath of a wizard duel"

How should I tag my art when I draw OCs? Most of my posts get 0 notes and I feel like no one sees anything.
the fandom that the OCS are from, any art tags, then any organization tags. keep organization tags mega consistent so if someone wants to learn more about your OC they can just click the tag
a few tips for building interest in OCs
- reblog ask memes (send me a number and I'll answer posts) and answer in character and or with art
- send asks to other OC blogs
- world building is important if your OC doesn't belong to a fandom, and even then making their place in the setting known can help a ton
- put your character in different outfits or maybe different fandom situations
- draw your OC with other peoples OCs
- again, use side blogs, they don't need additional emails and are very integrated
- have an art blog that people can get notifications from that is highly organized, then have a fandom/aesthetic blog that you reblog your art too, reblog and talk about other ocs that are like yours, and make non art stuff for your OCS too, like mood boards
writing and OCs are a huge part of Tumblr, there are a lot of amazing OC blogs that are beloved on this site
suggestions for new artists
- have two blogs, one where you only post your art and another fandom blog where you reblog not only your art to but also reblog and interact with others
- tags only matter for SEO and fandom, so there is no reason to tag #art and #pixel art for example
- tag posts to be searchable for your own blog, keep the same tagging system too so people can easily sort your posts
- use the queue feature to post things at optimal times
- reblog yourself (and tag #srb or #self-bost accordingly for people who block it)
- one to two pieces of art per post
- Tumblr loves sketches and throw away art, just post it on its own instead of doing a sketch dump
- have a pinned post telling people what tags can be searched in your blog to find your art, your fandoms, your OCS, and anything else that might be relevant
ok also general tips for new users from twitter
qrt = reblogging and adding to the post
commenting = typing in the tags of a reblog
- if you want to argue with people, use replies. that's pretty much all people use them for, your audience is not notified in any way of your replies and they're pretty hidden
- use asks liberally, people like getting them and it's a nice way to make moots
- adding useless text or comments to the body of a post is frowned upon
- reblogging a ton is normal
- if you delete a post any reblogs of the post will remain unlike deleting tweets
- editing a post will only edit it on your blog not any reblogs
- you used to be able to edit posts completely, deleting credit or changing what someone said (google john green cock sucking monologue)
tagging culture:
- tags on reblogs are just for your own blog, added tags won't show up in searches
- ppl talk shit in tags or comment their thoughts in tags and have weird blog organization tags like #ok.txt #-happy #///
- tags won't be reblogged usually but if someone wants to they will just screenshot them and add them to the body of a post
suggestions for new artists
- have two blogs, one where you only post your art and another fandom blog where you reblog not only your art to but also reblog and interact with others
- tags only matter for SEO and fandom, so there is no reason to tag #art and #pixel art for example

this is good info!!! also ilta showed me this browser extension where you can make tag bundles
its kind of annoying adding multiple tags all the same for every post so you can make preset bundles and just add them all in one click
xkit rewritten
it also has some other quality of life / accessibility stuff like removing ads and algorithms that is super nice. heres how the tag thing works
so nice and easy

⭐ So you want to learn pixel art? ⭐
🔹 Part 1 of ??? - The Basics!
Hello, my name is Tofu and I'm a professional pixel artist. I have been supporting myself with freelance pixel art since 2020, when I was let go from my job during the pandemic.
My progress, from 2017 to 2024. The only thing that really matters is time and effort, not some kind of natural talent for art.
This guide not be comprehensive, as nobody should be expected to read allat. Instead I will lean heavily on my own experience, and share what worked for me, so take everything with a grain of salt. This is a guide, not a tutorial. Cheers!
What if the new Zelda game was originally on the GameBoy Color?
sure ill draw my sona once, as a treat

chain letter time: shuffle your favorite playlist and post the first five songs that come up. then copy/paste this ask to your mutuals! <3
Thanks for the ask!
This was pretty fun to do. I've mostly been listening to anime ops recently, so that made up a majority of this list. I hope other people enjoy listening to these songs as much as I do!
