This is a very frequently asked question for the both of us so i suppose ill break it down. Goodness i guess ill start at the beginning. 

His family owns the restaurant I’ve worked at all of college and because so I have been quite close to them for as long as I’ve lived in Clemson. His parents moved to Minnesota when he was in high school (before i moved to clemson) to open a restaurant there so i never got the pleasure of meeting him in person. 

One day while at the restaurant working his aunt was face timing him. She had to go to the back so she handed me the phone as was like “here, talk to pete.” So i grabbed the phone and began talking about my retro windbreaker i had bought for 25 cents and asking him about his tattoos. 

i remember thinking ‘my lord this man is beautiful.’ 

I then proceeded to tell him we’d get married one day and handed the phone back to his aunt and skipped off back to work.

Later that night, in the most cliche fashion of becoming friends that our generation has, he friend requested me on Facebook then began messaging me. Looking back now on those messages we laugh because he was “spitting game” and honestly i was eating it up. He had me from Hello. 

We instantly became best friends and talked constantly. We both knew how attracted to one another but we weren’t blind to the fact that 1,500 was a great distance between us so we decided to not pursue anything romantically. (which now is one of both of our greatest regrets) He started dating a girl and we both backed off. ha, to each others faces, we both admit to constantly checked on the other on social media and having to force ourselves not to text or call the other. 

Fastforward to late May last year. It was brought up at work that Pete would be moving down “soon” once he graduated and so obviously i freaked and texted him instantly and yelled at hi, for not being the one to tell me. He laughed and told me how i was cute when i was “mad” at him and that he couldn’t wait either. BOOM. There it was again. The spark, Hell, lets be real the blistering hot wildfire that surrounded both of us. 

We were in separable. Well i should say “ inseparable” seeing as we were still long distance. We both knew without a doubt we were each others person and we were going to make it work. 

Problem. He still had said girlfriend from earlier in the story. Ive never been the kind of girl that interferes in relationships or steps on peoples toes so i was out of  my comfort zone on that one. 

*as cliche as this sounds, everyone that knew Pete before he met me tells me about how he was so cold with girls, that he had never ever said the word love to a girl before ( which is just shocking to me since he is a mushball to me) they are all so shocked to see how he is around me and how open he is about loving me*

To my knowledge he attempted to end things multiple times but finally at the end of summer it was officially over (which i by no means am proud of that anything happened unfaithfully) but he finally did and we started “dating” a month after that. 

And now we are here, flying every few months back and forth making the best out of the situation, wishing we had the courage to try long distance the first go around.

it began in the most unexpected way but we are honestly everything each other has ever needed, wanted, wished for. He is my best friend. We were made for each other.
