More Stark Less Snark

Under a cut cuz spoilers. BONUS: take a peek and send a number 1-95, or send a ☆ for a random starter.

Madison had never minded that her family didn’t fit the perfect mold. She had grown up being told that being out of the ordinary was cool and that it was never every something she should be ashamed of. When she was a kid her father use to pick her up set her on one of the work benches in the lab and tell her that she was extraordinary, that being different from all the little kids her age didn’t make her any less special than them but more. 

So when she gains another father in the from of Captain America she doesn’t really mind. He makes her dad happy and Steve is about as extraordinary as people get, and he steps into the father role like a natural. He balances things out in her life and provided some of the vital lessons a parent teaches their kids that Tony never could. Overall Madison is more than happy to welcome Steve into the family as her Pops. 

And then the family keeps on growing when she gets a little brother even if Peter is taller than her. Growing up as an only child for as long as she had suddenly having a brother takes some getting use to but she still loves him as much as she loves her dad, or Steve. They become quick friends to when she notices Peter’s interest in the labs and all the other cool and amazing scientific wonders the tower has to offer people. The transition from friends to one big family is smooth and easy. 

Plus Madison loves to be the cool older sister which is exactly why she’s leaning against her luxury car in the middle of a high school parking lot. She wasn’t going to be the sister who forced their younger brother to walk home or even ride the bus. Its a few minutes since schools before out and nobody has yet t flood the parking lot but she keeps her eyes locked on the door waiting to spot Peter’s usually messy brown hair. When she finally does spot him she pushes away from the car to stand full hight and wave him over . 

“Common Peter we’ve got places to be “ she called out when he gets closer to the car. Despite the fact that she’s wearing sunglasses and isn’t overly dressed in usual Stark fashion she doesn’t exactly feel like having the whole school’s attention on them. 

But Peter was a good kid. Very smart and passed all of his classes. So he usually had free reign to go out, but with who was usually an emptiness. He wasn’t popluar. Actually quite the contrary. When your dad is Captain America, there comes a lot of bullying and threats. But Peter never felt unsafe. He’d taken a beating before and worse when he was younger and on his own. He for one, was proud of his father.

It was a pleasant surprise to find out that the Captain America had fallen quite hard for the Iron Man. Expected? Not really. Peter usually stood away from all that superhero boasting. It was too out there for him. He had his own little way of doing things for the community. The first thing he ever kept from his father. Tony joining their little family was a cool thing. Gaining a sister? That was completely new.

At first Peter was worried she would be a problem for him. Peter was someone who kept to himself. Usually locked in his room for hours on end. But Madison was different. She liked science like he did and when he saw her in the lab, he took interest. It didn’t take long for them to become friends and for that Peter was grateful.

“Well I guess I couldn’t possibly turn down a special day with you” she said sweetly. “ I’m just curious as to what you had in mind.” Usually anything special with Tommy meant something fancy and although their families ran in the same social circle at the tower a special day could be as simple as movie night in a comfortable sweatshirt with the whole family. Sometimes she was still getting use to the new lifestyle Tommy provided and trying to balance it with the lifestyle she had grown up on .

Although Madison had only briefly worked for Tommy as a babysitter it had certainly changed her life. She had practically moved out of Stark Towers packing her bags and telling her father she had made her choice on the matter. The fight with her father and the move had been a little over a month ago. The Elliot residence became her home and she was no longer under the pretense of being Colin’s nanny. Instead she was there because she wanted to be, and because it helped her be closer to Tommy when she wasn’t at school. She had become part of the Elliot mens’ lives and she didn’t want it any other way.

Sure she was no longer Colin’s nanny but that didn’t mean she spent any less time with the boy. She probably even spent more time with him now that they were under the same roof, but the days when Colin wasn’t home were the days she really looked forward to. The little boy was spending the majority of the day at camp with other kids his age and in their social circle, which meant she had Tommy all to herself when he was done at the hospital.

To kill the time she had grabbed one of Tommy’s recommended books from the library and ventured across the estate to read in the sun room. Smoothing out the wrinkles of her sundress Madison plopped down on one of the comfortable couches to read and wait for Tommy’s shift at the hospital to end.

Their relationship oddly seemed like a natural progression from her role as nanny.  Despite her age she was a natural caregiver and was extremely loving to both Colin and Tommy.  She had filled their lives with so much warmth that he gladly spoiled her in every way he could both material and affectionately.  He even helped her with her schoolwork.

Although Madison enjoyed their days alone together Tommy knew that she must have gotten lonely when she didn’t have school and Colin was away.  Fortunately the hospital had been unusually easy to manage as of late so he was able to leave early for once.

Tommy walked up to her silently and let his strong hands hold and massage her shoulders firmly before her spoke.  “ Hello beautiful,” he spoke as softly as he smiled.

And although the house was beautiful and comforting her favorite part of being there was being with the Elliot boys. Colin was a sweetheart and an all around easy kid to take care of and keep happy. Tommy had also managed to secure part of her heart in the short amount of time they had been together. He took care of her in every way imaginable. He was a perfect partner , friend, and even mentor when the time called for it. It was a deep connection that she didn’t think she had ever had with somebody else and she loved it. 

“Hi handsome” she said looking over her shoulder at the man. She flashed him a small smile before closing her book and abandoning it on the coffee table in front of her. Her attention was now solely on him. Madison’s smile only widened when she noticed that it was just the two of them. “ Not to busy at the hospital if you’re able to make it back home to me so early.” 

[Text]: No help needed. I’ve got seven more to go, it should all go by pretty quick!

[Text]: Good to know you didn’t completely procrastinate.

[Text]: I told I couldn’t sleep 

[Text]: Hey when you come down can you bring a couple blankets. Like I said its cold. 

[Text]: Wait why are you still up? 

[Text]: I dunno. I’m not tired I guess?

[Text]: Totally not up reviewing reports from the new team that are due at noon. Nope. Not me.

[Text ]: Come join the club of not getting nearly enough sleep. 

[Text]: Ew reviewing reports. At least Fury doesn’t have me stuck doing that . 

[Text ]: Ew is right, at least i can stay up with someone lol

[Text]: Don’t expect me to help you out with those reports.

[Text]: I told I couldn’t sleep
