it fucking sucks to be a fan of nonbinary characters bc u gotta deal with the typical transphobia n people "headcanoning" them as a boy or girl but then u also gotta deal with other nonbinary people who havent internalized the extremely basic fundamental of nonbinary not being a third gender in a trinary but an umbrella term to easily capture a wide variety of people who's gender dont slot into the boy-girl binary let alone the immediate next basic fundamental of pronouns n presentation (while often overlapping) arent the same thing as gender

much like how kris deltarune is a character who is nominally under the player's control but does not agree with, can and will defy the actions of the player, i believe mario of the super 64 variety is a similar kind of character, in that he will frequently defy the inputs you put on your controller, and his singular greatest joy is throwing himself into the nearest death pit. not because he has any particular animosity towards the player. he just fucking loves to die

I think that part of what irks me about AI being used even for "small" stuff like meme graphics (aside from all the larger problems obviously) is like.... the time spent on it was part of the humor. "this is a silly inconsequential joke but I had to stop everything and spend 5 minutes making it" was, at least for me, part of the joke. Someone really took time out of their day to make me look at something silly they took time out of their day to make. Now it's like someone took time out of my day to make me look at something no one even made. Stop wasting my time if you aren't wasting yours too.
