Everywhere.

Even the Doctor didn't escape.

But with those kinds of roller coasters, the ending of the track is in the air. The track ends and gravity takes hold and all that's left is the heartbreaking fall of tragedy. 

Alright, I'm about to be the bitch no one likes, but for me, it's time to stop talking about all the "feels" from Supernatural Season 9, Episode 1 and start talking about why my favorite show in the whole wide world needs help.

That's right - Supernatural is currently at a critical point reminiscent of Sam Winchester. It's been shot in the head, stabbed in the back, burnt on the ceiling - and needs to either be reaped by Death or someone needs to get to a crossroad and sell their soul for it. 

Because this show? It isn't Supernatural anymore. It's some shadow of the show I fell in love with and Sam and Dean have become cliches of themselves. Gone are the days of the intricate plots, the artful series arcs, the 3-dimensional characters, and the spot on character development. Now all we're left with is a formula ... DRAMA DRAMA DRAMA BROTHERS FEELING INADEQUATE DRAMA DRAMA SAM AND DEAN GETTING THROWN AGAINST A WALL DRAMA WHAT THE HELL DRAMA DRAMA AW CAS MESSED UP AGAIN DRAMA DON'T YOU TRUST ME DEAN DRAMA DRAMA DRAMA SAMMY JUST LISTEN TO ME DRAMA OH LOOK SOMEONE IS DEAD/DYING!

Bring back the monster of the week! Bring back those tantalizing little hints  of an overarching story! Bring back characters that are complex! Stop singing the same song, different verse. Sam and Dean have matured - but almost in all the wrong ways. It's like they've matured out of what made them Sam and Dean, but are still children in the ways that always caused them problems ... now why is that? Oh, right ... because DRAMA!

I want my show back. I want my Sam and my Dean back. I want my Cas back. I want to watch Supernatural because it is amazing again, not because of "oh FEELS!" moments that we only feel because we have a history with these characters. That's about all the episodes are anymore. Look at anyone liveblogging an episode, myself included. We're all like, "OH NO BBY CAS AND DEAN AND AW SAMMY BBY!!" Not a word is said about how awesome the episode was because it was just that good! All we can talk about is how "it hurt so much" - because oft repeated platitudes are all we have anymore.
