this is a vague concept that came to me after watching the movie.

i love the idea of a peter quill!variant, who's essentially a teenage version of peter, different in their own ways, and having escaped from earth after it was attacked by aliens and overrun. their earth is gone.

then, let's say they accidentally find a portal to another dimension, specifically, the project-hail-mary one, and their ship is dangerously low on fuel, but none of the maps they're used to actually reflects the new reality.

then, finally, they see another ship- the hail mary. this is while grace and rocky are working together. pq!variant initiates contact and requests help, and you know, some shenanigans could ensue with the TVA and the GOTG themselves not to mention the actual plot of project hail mary.

i'm just thinking about how grace and rocky would react to a kid, essentially, showing up from another dimension and trying to help and also figure out how to get home themselves. plus the angst one could borrow from spiderverse, where a variant experiences physical pain in prolonged period of time outside of their home dimension without a watch.
