I’m very proud of the work and progress I’ve made in the world of wrestlin’ so far, which is why it’s easier to think about these things now that I feel like if things all went to shite tomorrow, I would have left a big enough of an impression to feel like I’ve done somethin’ meaningful. Now, obviously, there’s still so much more I want to do, but hypothetically speakin’, if I ever met someone who really made me feel that way... I would try to compromise. 

Yes, and no. 

“The demon” stems from an idea I had while I was workin’ independents and New Japan and wanted to experiment with paintin’ my body. Originally, I wanted to paint myself all black, as a lot of the time, I wanted people to focus on what I was doin’ in the ring, while all anyone else wanted to do is focus on my physical appearance or how good lookin’ I was. As conceited as it sounds, the paint was brought in to sort of distract people from how I appeared on the outside and focus on what I was feeling on the inside.

That’s where the demon stems from, I developed the sole idea of a character that was a manifestation of Finn’s feelin’s in whatever story he was in as a way to punctuate and show climaxes in those stories. It’s his anger/frustration/courage/resilience all mixed together into one, theatrical caricature.
