"After sizing the girl up, Yuki determined the most sensuous aspect of her body to be the thighs jutting out of her skirt. Perhaps as an act of caution Momono had positioned her chair farther away from the table than anyone else, allowing Yuki to get a glimpse of the girl's thighs from her seat. They were quite girthy and certainly appeared large enough to support the girl's plump upper body. The portion of skin that was exposed between her frilly miniskirt and her white knee-high socks glistening brilliantly against the world of black and white. Yuki felt a geniune desire to touch them. In any case, every aspect of Momono seems inviting.

... Girl.
Yuki (from Playing Death Games to Put Food on the Table) is the biggest and weirdest lesbian I have ever read about.
The number of times I've stopped reading to go "girl." has definitely reached double digits at this point.
Off the top of my head, things Yuki has said (paraphrased): "I want to touch those thighs. Ooo, those hands are so cute when they're all scrambling for a key so they don't get killed. Man, sure is sexy to see girls holding another girl down (so I can chop her leg off). Death games aren't too bad because I'm surrounded by pretty girls."
There are so many more.
Yuki. Girl. I love you but. damn.
"Maid outfits typically came with one of two styles of skirts, either extremely long or extremely short, and Yuki's was the former. This was dubbed the "classical" style.
Yuki got off the mattress, looking quite classical as she did so.

@skylineofspace This is on the second page and was the reason I decided to read the book. I love the snark.
One of Mars' friends has been going by a new name and a new gender for two weeks now and no one fucking told Mr. Geeky and I.
I only found out at Mars' 5th grade graduation today. I was like "Mars, why didn't you tell me?" And she just shrugged and I wanted to be like "girl, help me make sure I'm not hurting someone's feelings, I beg of you."

So, I started reading Playing Death Games to Put Food on the Table book* and, y'all, Yuki is so fucking gay. I'm reading the book to Mr. Geeky and at one point she goes on for several sentences about a girl's thighs and then goes "I want to touch them" and I stopped reading cause I was laughing so hard and was like "No fucking shit, Yuki."
*I'm specifying book because there is also a manga. The book is the original iteration which the manga is based on.
Finished!
This is a bday gift for a friend of mine and I'm super in love and kind of sad to be giving it away, not gonna lie.
It's part of an entire horror moth collection and I'm very excited to do some other ones!
(Cross-stitch pattern by WitchyStitcher, I changed to embroidery for myself. The cross-stitch pattern is currently (5/30/26) only available via her patreon shop. However, at some point it will be available via her website and Etsy.)
I've been thinking about this all day.

Perfect perfect perfect.
He had the keys all along! In his mind, Isaac had them, but he had them all along. This is such a perfect symbol for Danny's life, how he is constantly mentally giving the keys to his direction and journey to other people, constantly blaming others for his unhappiness or misfortune, but the truth is: he has the keys. He has had the keys all along. He is the driver of his own life, and the one responsible for all of this.
What a great way to sneak that in there, with the yelling between him and Isaac and then this.
Couch has been bought and now hopefully I don't have to buy another one for a long time.
Oh my goooooood she looks like a bargain-basement Jordan, holy fuck this show I am screaming, she is becoming the monster she can't stand, seduced by the fucking weekend she had away from her husband and child, holy shit this is amazing. Girl you are so miserable in every avenue of your fucking life and the only way you can see to happiness is to become an entirely different person. YUSSSSSSS
YESS YESSSSSS everything is going soooo terrible and we love it. Paul is the angel of fucking light and truth right now, because its true that Danny and Isaac are adding nothing to their communities or families, they have let themselves grift their way into being leeches. We are the captains of our own lives, currents or no, and while Danny has had a number of bad bounces, a lot of things are also his own fucking fault.
ANd now he has the incredibly painful confirmation that Paul doesn't even CARE about him b4ing around, much less look up to him. Paul sees him as a fucking CAUTIONARY TALE. and that is so painful to Danny, that this kid who he thinks of as the little brother who adores him just cannot fucking stand him.
Oh man oh man, so Isaac has some shit he's working his way through as well. Now! To be clear! I think Isaac has reached past the age where we can realistically blame our parents for shit. At a certain point, you have to be the one who molds your own life. You have made many many bad choices all on your own since you became an adult.
But! What an interesting thing, to see that clearly he felt abandoned by his family, and so much of that comes out in the way he is in this constant desperate attempt to be cool and to be liked and to have people need him. He's constantly doing things to try and bring himself into Danny's life, he's constantly trying to appear confident and like he doesn't give a good goddamn, and so much of it has to come out of this clearly deep feeling that his family didn't want him for his imperfections, so he was going to embrace them.
What a great twist on this character.

Part of the reason I like this show so much is that even when it's just doing a chase scene, it still manages to be both funny and revealing. Everything all three of them say is both hilariously stupid but contains something about them.
Isaac is easy, he's mostly just there to be funny, but it IS true that the worst thing you could fucking ask him to do is make an effort! And Paul, while he is saying it in the silliest possible way, suddenly has access to the way he's felt about his brother's shitty attitude and lifestyle constantly bringing him down, and that there are ways to express, "This fucking sucks, man." ANd of course for Danny, it's that everything is someone else's fault. His brother doesn't ACTUALLY think that he is a problem in his own life, it's that someone has put this in his ear. Paul can't actually be thinking that he hates being around his brother, that it brings him down. It's a conspiracy. It always is.
But yopu can also just take it all as funny! Great show.
So, was Stephen King's short story The Monkey a comedy or did the writers of the movie decide to adapt it into a comedy?
(I can't say that I necessarily disagree with that choice. Trying to make a wind-up toy monkey legitimately scary would be a hard ask for anyone and I think leaning into the silliness of it was probably the right thing to do for a visual medium.)
