βYou want to invite your exβwife and her husband to our wedding,β Hawkeye said.
BJ shrugged. He felt every jealous impulse seep out of his body. He was an adult. Heβd navigated all sorts of complicated interpersonal relationships. They were cool, modern people, werenβt they? Hawkeye was, at least. Heβd always been.
βIf youβre inviting your ex, shouldnβt I get to invite mine?β BJ said.
Hawkeye sat down on the bed again. He put his feet up and rubbed at his bad knee.
βIs this some sort of game of chicken, Beej? Youβre telling me youβd be just fine with Trapper as my best man?β Hawkeye said.
βCompletely fine, the very definition of fine,β BJ said, brightly, lying through his teeth.
