Well it’s been a while since I’ve posted, but once in a while I’ve been tempted by a Kyoukai no Rinne episode, but been a bit lazy about it.

This was one of those lol moments ...  Pok*mon??!!

Anyhoo, I’ve not been watching much, just all of Boku no Hero Academia, and also Hitorijime my Hero.

3-gatsu no lion continues on into the Winter season

I find 3-gatsu to be a tough tough watch. I was hoping for a bittersweet anime, but this one is 90% bitter and 10% sweet. Kiriyama’s depression/loneliness feelings of emptiness is too real, and perhaps a bit too relatable, until I also feel like I’m being swallowed up in the thick sludge of darkness.

Last season Yuri on Ice stole my heart, but a part of my heart is, still as always, reserved for Natsume Yuujinchou.

I watched the final episode today, and it was as sweet as ever. Watching the Yokai do their best for Natsume, and watching his friends and family worry over him, Natsume is surrounded by love, and it makes me so happy to see that.

One of my favourite episodes of the season is the episode showing the back story of Natori, with appearance from Matoba. I love both these characters, and it’s great to see more of them, and their interactions with each other.

Natsume Yuujinchou Go  episode 02

Natsume is all about the bittersweet warm fuzzies, those moments of chance meetings that can leave an impression on your life, the unbridgeable difference between the living and the youkai.

Oh boy, it feels like it’s been a long time since I’ve been so excited about a season.  I’ve just watched the 1st episode of all the anime that I’d pre-selected, and they are all great! ARGH I LOVE THIS SEASON! I have six things I am going to follow.

Yuri on Ice!

Ice skating with good looking guys,  I followed Yuzuru Hanyu back in 2014/2015 so this has extra appeal. I like the comedy style and the hint of BL and the characters so far. YES!

Fune O Amu

All about compiling dictionaries. It’s earnest and features adults and it’s a subject matter you’d never think of as one for anime. I love it! It does help that I do love words. The main character is a bit of an airhead, but don’t worry, he’s gonna have a sarky character/colleague as foil. I have good feelings about this one. and the dictionary interlude is cute.

Watashi ga Motete Dousunda

About a fujoshi girl who loses weight and suddenly all the guy want to date her. Anyone who is a fujoshi will get this world, it’s otome game + comedy

Sangatsu no Lion

Now I started on this one because, it was from the creator of Honey and Clover and I was hoping for a Suga Shikao tune.  The starting is almost wordless, and builds up an atmosphere around the main character, who is rather gloomy and had a very unhappy childhood. I was slightly annoyed because they kept on putting a lot of focus on what he was drinking, to the extent I wonder if it was sponsored, and I’ll be on the look out for it, which will pull me out of the story, the episode became less gloomy once the (neighbouring?) family of sisters were introduced and brought light relief. Now Honey and Clover was heart-wrenching in many places. I am still not sure about Sangatsu, the build up on the first episode was slow, but it might get better.

Natsume Yuujinchou Go

I love Natsume, it is one of my top favourite anime and it’s great to see it back. It is more of the same, which in my mind, is perfect

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Stardust Crusader

I’m not sure whether I like the 3rd JoJo or not.  JoJo 2 was a brat, but he was also kinda funny at time. This time around he’s the stoic type, but stoic also means he never changes expression or does anything ‘uncool’

Watching JoJo season one 3 years after everybody!  Kinda regret this now, since I have no one to discuss things with.
