I loooove the idea of Mabel eventually caring (or at least tolerating lmao) about Jerry enough to actually show him her favourite parts of the nature around their city,, like she actually manages to get him to appreciate the wildlife and take the time to look that he hadn't before, and he becomes a better person for it.

And, the more he listens to her, the more she's willing to open up to him, too.

I don't really see them as having a parent-child relationship though tbh (Jerry doesn't strike me as the paternal type, nor Mabel as particularly searching for a father figure), BUT I can see them having a mentor-mentee relationship, where they both take turns in being the mentor? ...Although my mind on that is liable to change if I think up a particularly fluffy headcanon pfff.

Because as much as Mabel can teach Jer-dawg about the environment, he can give her a valuable perspective too, I think. That humans aren't so seperate from animals, that they aren't just "bad and take what they want", but rather the population has grown so much that their relationship to other wildlife is more complicated now. Sort of... balances out her black and white thinking tendancies a bit, while she teaches him, to care more.
