And today marks the first day where I’m physically and mentally able enough to crawl in front of my computer and do some game dev! The last 9 days or so have been hard as fuck but I’m through the other side, just 1 more chemo-top-up session for this cycle then I’m on the home stretch, buuuut I don’t need to worry about that for now. Let’s just live in denial a little longer and focus on something other than my own body trying to fucking kill me!
Today I’m gonna be looking at getting a specific game mechanic to work in my game. The player has to walk around a maze but the maze has a fog-of-war to it which means the path ahead and surrounding walls only reveal themselves when you get close enough but when you enter a larger room I want it to instantly uncover it. I can do that fine, but the trouble is that at the moment when you enter a room, ALL rooms reveal themselves even if you’re nowhere near them.
Simple to fix for someone with half a brain cell, sadly I’m not that someone.
Also listening to the Talos Principle soundtrack - amazing music from my favourite game of all time!
