Rant (Nolou) + Uglydoll fandom
Guys β¦be honest with me do you like my interpretation Of nolou? π recently Iβve been seeing a lot more backlash with this ship. Which has me kind of nervous so my angel and demon post is private right now. People can have their own opinions and I respect that I love seeing other peopleβs ships with Lou, Nolan, literally any character idk, They are all so cute. I love yumeshipping! Its just right now I feel like I donβt wanna be those artist that give the character stereotypes. Iβve been seeing people say Nolan isnβt really dominant or βbigger than Louβ theyβre literally dolls their the same height. I want Nolan to be a sweet, nice, confident and supportive person And Lou as a flawed person with more depth rather than him being all I would say egotistical.π€ I do believe in my earlier comic of Lou I made him a little bit more emotional and out of character. But with my views changed on the dynamic, I want to turn Lou into a snarky, arrogant man who breaks down, and Nolan tired of Louβs behavior but still cares about his well being.

I donβt like it when people think they have a better interpretation of characters, Everyone has headcannons for characters thatβs not my issue my issue, for example Nolan is a background character heβs shown less than a minute in all the clips in this movie, how can you mischaracterizes a character with barely any characterization at all?
nolan is a shy, flawed, his introduction is him being insulted by Lou
But by the end of the movie, Nolan Gaines confidence, it was his idea to put Lou in the wash as punishment and reclaiming the sign that Lou put on him as empowering. So I can interpret this as continuing forward if he ever encounters Lou again, nolan has that confidence in himself to be tired of Louβs bullshit.
This is more me venting because one of my moots was defending her interpretation and headcannon, when itβs not harmful, or sending hate, they do it at a peer fun and like the ship because itβs cute. I thought we were past this we already have AI do deal with, yes you can not like the ship, but you can also not engage with it as well. Iβve been in the fandom for years and most of the stories Iβve always seen Lou depicted as the βalphaβ (ew) having to protect Nolan when I do believe Nolan can hold his ground. Also * side note* justice for Michael, bro all the nolou stories have him as a bad guy. Can I have one story where theyβre all friends and itβs just Lou Battling with his own identity. Back to my point, I do wanna give these characters justice, but I also donβt wanna be seen as βone of those artistβ I would love your guysβs opinion, and comments I love to have a conversation. This is one of my biggest passions. And I donβt want to be perceived in a bad way.π₯ΊβΉοΈ
I might delete this rant, (like I usually do with posts that are art related) but I do wanna get this out here so I donβt let it rot in my brain and become a bigger issue than it is, hereβs a Nolan piece as foreshadowing for my comic.
