Oh, he loves you with his entire being. In a way that naturally pulls his body to you before he even has a chance to acknowledge your own presence. The kind of love that burns within the depths of his heart and incinerates his veins in a desperate attempt to reach you. Love that consumes his every waking thought until the only thing he has on his mind is you. The best part? You're exactly like this as well. Attached to the the hip and all.
To Shin, you first came off as someone reserved, untouchable. Or rather, someone who shouldn't have been touched. And he treated you as such. He was always just out of arm's reach. Yet somehow, he yearned to be closer. And when he got it, he was flabbergasted.
It never started off badly. You were still quiet, still reserved. You'd chat, smile and slightly invade his space. But there always seemed to be this line— one you were unwilling to cross under any circumstances. So Shin got nosey one night. As you were walking back to his apartment, you seemed so squirmish, hands fidgeting at your sides, eyes straying over the streets. It made him curious. He went and stuck his nose in your business. Using telepathy. He'd gotten a glimpse onto your thoughts. And what he'd heard sounded a little something like:
"He's so close right now. I could just grab his hand. But is that too fast? He might think it's weird and hate me! What if he thinks I'm a gross perverted freak for thinking about him like that??!! If he did, I think I might just die!!... But his hand looks so warm... Iqwuykdnr!"
Oh. He'd have to turn his head so his giddy grin and flushed cheeks aren't visible to you. But his ears will be bright red, giving him away anyway. In any case, he'll reach over and grab your hand— both to ease your anxiety and to sate the deeply rooted need within himself to breach the invisible barrier between you.
And ever since, it was like switch flipped inside you.
Not only are you visibly hyper in his presence, but you are happy to touch him and be in his space. In private, he's just as overwhelmed as he is elated. He's soaking every compliment, every kiss and caress are like his nutrients for the day. In public, he doesn't reject you, but doesn't lean into it as quickly and comfortably as he does behind closed doors. It's not out of sheer embarrassment, he just gets a little shy and doesn't want to be teased by his friends.
In private, you're all over each other. Hugs, caresses, kisses, the whole package. Between you, you're definitely the more energetic one. You're active, always talking, always jumping from one thing to the next. Sure, he may not be as energetic as you can be, but he keeps up with you as best he can. And as an assassin, he definitely has a lot more stamina for it than you may think.
Shin's love is tender. He treats you like you're bound to fracture and disappear under too much pressure. Like he's afraid to lose you over something so absurd. Soft kisses pressed to your heads, cheeks and forehead. Careful hands along the skin of your arms and waist. Eyes that trace the curves your face, never too fair off to avoid coming off as perverted. He'd hate to scare you of like that.
Time passes and you're finally ready to open up about yourself. When the truth reaches him, he's more in disbelief than what he is shocked. From the few thoughts he'd listened in on, he'd concluded that not everyone was as accepting of his love as he was. But he never knew it had reached that extent.
