They Call Me Superman, I'm Here to Rescue You
A/B/O AU x MHA - College UA

Summary: Heroes-in-training Red Riot and Dynamight have always expected their soulmate to be out on the streets, fighting crime alongside them. Imagine their surprise when they stumble across the perfect little mechanic in their neighboring support class. It doesn’t matter if Y/N is a beta. There are ways around these things.
You use the back of your glove to wipe the grease smudge from your cheek while blowing puffs of air from the exertion. If you could just get this fucking bolt to just—UGH! You toss the wrench down in frustration before turning to your classmate.
“Hey, Jason. Do you mind tightening this for me?”
The boy to your right lifts his welding goggles to turn to you and grins. “Yeah, no problem Y/N.” He grabs the wrench you’ve extended towards him, and begins tightening the bolt that was giving you trouble. “This somethin’ for the big presentation?” he asked, looking up at you as he worked.
You nod. “Yup! And when it’s done, it’ll blow their socks off,” you reply enthusiastically, beaming with pride.
“You’re cuttin’ it kinda close don’t you think.” Both of you glance up at the wall, where a large analog clock ticked down the few minutes you had left.
“I know…I know,” you rub your neck sheepishly, “I just want it to be perfect.”
He sets down your contraption, now properly tightened, and grabs your gloved hands. “Everything you make is perfect.” You can’t help the blush that rushes down your neck as he stares deeply into your eyes. Jason has always been…forward with you. But he’s a nice beta, just like you, and you’re at the age where maybe you should start looking for a potential mate. He’s not a bad option, just saying.
“Thanks, Jay,” you smile sweetly at him, gently lowering your hands out of his grip. “You know I get nervous. Plus,” you shake your head to rid yourself of the negative thoughts, “it’s our first time really meeting Class 1-A. These are our future co-workers. I want to make a good impression.”
“And you will! Why don’t you give the wrench a break,” he suggests, “and we go get some ice-cream before we have to go to the conference room and set up.”
You give your piece one more once over, looking for any imperfections you may have missed while inspecting it two minutes ago. I could use a break. “Well…I guess that doesn’t sound too bad,” you say with a small smile. Jason returns the gesture before pushing up from the work bench, gritty hands pressing off of dirt-ridden pants. He holds his hand out to you before giving you a cheesy grin, “If I may.”
You giggle at his antics before putting filthy work glove in filthy work glove. “Of course you may.”
Shutting the door to the workshop behind you, you stroll through the hall hand-in-hand. You keep your head forward, out of fear that he’ll see the tomato red tinging your cheeks. This is the first time I’ve held hands with a guy. And the two of you enjoy the cold treats on the entry steps of UA, unaware of the storm headed your way.

The conference room was brimming with UA students—a combination of both your support class and the heroes-in-training of Class 1-A. If you were being honest, it was pretty overwhelming. You’d heard about the hardships this class had gone through, surviving countless villain attacks so early into their training. It was kind of like being surrounded by celebrities. You log every passing face, testing your ability to remember their names and abilities.
You stood next to your contraption, slightly uncomfortable in your business casual dress. Sweaty palms coming down to tug at the edges when it started slightly riding up your thighs. Support students were instructed to shed their grease-stained outfits in exchange for something more appropriate to first meet their sister class.
Rows of your classmates line the small conference room, as you each present your prototypes to the heroes walking by, making casual conversation and introducing yourselves. Nobody had approached you yet, but you’re sure it was just a matter of time. Admittedly, the metal cuffs on your table did look a little unimpressive next to the neighboring jetpacks and laser beams…
And just as the rejection begins to sting a little: “Hey, um, what’s up with your invention?” You look up to find a smiling face and unruly green hair staring back at you. Even though he looks different outside of his hero uniform, you’d recognize this guy anywhere after watching him from the stands. Ah…Izuku Midoriya. From the sports festival.
You give a polite smile, trying to contain your excitement. “Yeah, so, hi, basically, um, they’re for heroes that primarily specialize in close-quarters combat!” You lift up the two rings enthusiastically, “When they’re done they’ll be able to absorb, store, and redistribute energy, so the force of hitting doesn’t fully fall back on the hero doing the punching!”
The boy’s eyes light up. “Wow! That’s such a cool idea. Sorry, um, I don’t think I caught your name? I’m Izuku Midoriya.”
He whips out a leather-bound notebook that seems to have seen its fair share of trouble. “Good to meet you, Y/N.” You see him turn to a blank page before writing down your name and underlining. You notice that he’s done the same with a couple other students in your class. “Do you mind explaining how it works while I jot down a few notes?”
His enthusiasm eases your nerves and you nod, “Of course! I’d be happy to.” You begin to explain some of the science behind your invention and he cuts eye contact completely, writing furiously on the poor book in his hand.
Finally, when he’s had enough, he closes the notebook and looks up at you once again. “This is really cool, Y/N. You’ll have to keep me updated as you continue your build,” he rambles on, beginning to get lost in his own thoughts, “something like this could have so many implications for pro-heroes, especially ones like…”, and you begin to space out as he talks your ear off. I wonder what they’re serving in the dining hall today…I hope it’s not more of that mystery meat. Talk about gross!
“Oi, nerd!” A rumble snaps you back to reality, as a dusty-blonde intentionally bumps into Midoriya’s shoulder and a spikey-haired red-head comes up on his other side. “You’ve been at this station a while. Anything I should care about?”
“Oh, uh, hey, Kacchan. Kirishima.” You can’t help but notice that the green-haired boy seems to grow a bit nervous around his classmates, tucking his book into his back pocket. “This support student, Y/N L/N,” he gestures to you, “has designed these cuffs to absorb and redistribute kickback on physical attacks.” Two sets of red eyes, one pair filled with judgement and another with curiosity, snap to you, giving you a once over.
You rub your arm nervously. Eijiro Kirishima, a close-range fighter. Hardening quirk. And Katsuki Bakugo. You certainly remember him from the sports festival. “Yeah, well, it’s still a prototype. Nothing too special yet.” You give a weak smile, not prepared for this many eyes. You were meant for the shop, not for this kind of display.
Perking up at the conversation, out of the corner of your eye you see Jason move over from his table, and he wraps an arm around your shoulders. Giving the newcomers a smirk,“She’s just being modest. Y/N is practically a tech genius.”
You can’t help the shade of red you turn as you gently push him off of you, unbelievably embarrassed at the compliment and display. You notice the three heroes before you not-so-subtly sniffing the air, their eyes glazing over in understanding after not picking up any scent from the two of you. Just two lowly betas. Meanwhile alpha pheromones are practically rolling off the three of them.
Kirishima is the first to speak after the moment of awkward silence. Decidedly ignoring Jason’s presence, he steps forward with an outreached hand. “Well I’m always excited to meet a genius. The name’s Eijiro Kirishima.”
You grab it, not nearly prepared for the amount of strength he packs even in a handshake. He takes note of how weakly you shake out your hand once he releases it, having used the greeting to try to gauge whether you had a quirk or not. “Yeah, uh, I know who you guys are.” you blurt out, immediately internally face-palming afterwards. Why the fuck would I say that?
The comment, however, seems to please him, not weird him out. The red-head’s chest puffs out in pride and his permanent grin widens even more. “Really? You know who I am? That’s awesome!”
You relax a bit at his casualness, trying to ignore the unceasing stare from the blonde boy besides him. “Yeah, and I kind of designed these with you in mind. Just because you, um, you punch a lot? Uh…”, you stumble, flustered once again upon releasing how uneloquent and non-academic you made that sound. “Sorry, I don’t, I don’t have to present my stuff often,” you look down sheepishly, rubbing the back of your neck.
He laughs and the sound fills you with warmth. “No, seriously I’m flattered. Don’t worry about it. You know,” his eyes meeting yours, full of kindness, “we’ll be working together closely after all. Do ya’ mind explaining them to me? I’m not as tech-savvy as Izuku, but I’ll try my best.”
Your spine grows less rigid, the tension continuing to leave your body. “I would love to!”
As you begin your long-winded explanation once again, Jason steps towards Bakugo and Midoriya. “Would either of you like to hear about my project while they’re nerding out?”
After a few seconds of silence pass, and it’s clear Bakugo has no intention to respond to the question, Midoriya swoops in to put an end to the uncomfortable tension. “Yeah, uh, I’d love to hear about it.”
Jason gives a pained smile, hearing the lilt of pity in Midoriya’s voice. “Amazing.” And the two step away to his table, leaving you alone with Kirishima and Bakugo.
It’s not as bad as one might imagine at all. The conversation ebbs and flows normally with Kirishima’s enthusiasm and Bakugo’s occasional interjections. Time flies as the topic quickly steers away from your cuffs and naturally transitions into your other hobbies, your experience at UA, etc. etc. Soon the hour has passed talking among these two without you even meeting any of the other heroes.

The next day in class, as Midoriya is packing up his book bag, he finds himself cornered by his classmates. “Hey, Midoriya,” Kirishima greeted cheerfully with a wave, as Bakugo closed in on the other side of the desk. “Mind if we hold you back for a second.”
Midoriya’s eyes flit over the large boy’s shoulder, watching as Uraraka and Ida exit the classroom, exchanging worried glances and shooting him a pitying look. No escape. He rubbed his palms on his uniform, trying to absorb the sweat to hide his nervousness. “No, uh, do you guys need anything?”
Bakugo jerked his head down to his backpack. The blonde’s hands were in his pockets, but he looked far from relaxed. “Your notebook. Need to see it.”
Midoriya jerked back at the request. Kacchan has always said it’s stupid that he keeps a journal. “-You- want to see -my- notebook?” he asks incredulously, pointing at his chest.
He can tell that this question annoys Bakugo, because the boy grunts and responds, “Yeah that’s what I just fucking said, Deku. Now hand it over, or I’ll take it myself.”
He begins to close in on his smaller classmate, before Kirishima puts a hand on his shoulder, stopping him. “I think what Katsuki means to say is that we’d like to look at it, maybe take a picture of a few pages.” He smiles a bit, but looks at Midoriya expectantly when he doesn’t get a response.
“Why does it matt-” Bakugo’s retort is swiftly cut off by Kirishima, who tries to smooth things over once again.
“You remember that support student we were talking to yesterday?” Midoriya hesitates before nodding. “Well, her prototype was so interesting that I wanted to look over those notes you took about her—uh, about her invention.”
“Oh!” Midoriya exclaimed, “well okay.” Reaching into his backpack he pulled out his notebook, flipping to the page titled by your name. “Here you are.”
Kirishima whips out his phone, taking pictures of the pages Midoriya had filled with notes about your work. “Hey, thanks man,” he said, clapping Midoriya on the back, and holding in a laugh when his classmate flinches. “Appreciate it.”
And with that the two exit the classroom, leaving Midoriya there alone to regulate his breathing. He doesn’t know what brought on this sudden interest, but if he were you, he would run.

A few days later you are sitting at your usual table in the cafeteria, with Jason and some other support students around you. You’re all discussing upcoming project deadlines and your bitchy engineering professor. The usual. But as you dramatically retell the story of her making you stay after class and clean, you notice that your friends aren’t looking at you anymore. They’re looking past you, dumbly. Your voice trails off.
“Hey, Y/N, mind if we sit with you guys?” The cheery question breaks through the silence that had settled over your table, and you look up to find Kirishima and Bakugo approaching your group.
Before you answer, you give a quick glance to your friends. They’re all giving you eyes that ask, how the fuck do you know these guys? But when you look at Jason, there’s a glint in his gaze that confuses you. Irritation, maybe? Weird.
“Yeah, sure,” you reply easily, smiling, “we’ll make room.” Kirishima takes a seat on the open bench to your right, but Bakugo doesn’t move to sit on the other side of the table. Rather, he puts a hand on the shoulder of one of your classmates, and looks down at him until he takes the hint and slides over, allowing the blonde to sit on your left.
“Thanks man,” he grunts out.
A beat passes as all your friends wait for you to break the ice. “Uh, guys, this is Katsuki Bakugo and Eijiro Kirishima from class 1A. We met officially at the presentation thing the other day. Bakugo, Kirishima,” you gesture to your friends, “this is Allison, Markus, and Claire. And you’ve met Jay.”
Kirishima nods, “Nice to meet you guys. Thanks for letting us join. And Jason, nice to see you again,” but even though he smiles at your friends, you swear he looks a little…disinterested.
“Yeah, why are you joining us? Uh, not that I mind of course,” Jason questions, and you balk at his bluntness.
But Kirishima just laughs. “We just figured it’d be a good idea to meet our future support staff. Plus, if Y/N is any indication, you guys must all be pretty cool.”
Bakugo lifts an eyebrow, his arms crossed over his chest, “You got a problem with that?”
Jason flinches a bit, and your stomach fills with sympathy as he rubs the back of his neck anxiously, clearly intimidated by the heroes-in-training. “No, no, not at all. It’s just…you guys in the hero course don’t interact with us much.”
Bakugo tsks at his pathetic attempt to backpedal his rude question. But Kirishima swoops in once again, wrapping an arm around your shoulders. “Well, that changes today! Soon you’re gonna be so sick of us, you’ll wish we’d just leave you alone again” he jokes, and the rest of the table lets out a hesitant laugh.
“So,” the red head turns to you, “what were you guys talking about before we interrupted?" You shift, so that his arm falls off your shoulder.
“I was just, uh, complaining about our engineering prof. She made me stay late and wipe down the work stations the other day, for no reason!” you explain, liveliness reentering your voice.
“Wait, oh my god,” Kirishima continues, “I’ve totally had teachers that were out to get me before. So basically,” he settles in, “my third year of high school there was this home-ec class and…”
As he goes on, energetically explaining all the bullshit he got up to in high school, Kirishima is quick to win the entire table over. And everyone, save for Bakugo, who watches over the interaction silently, and Jason, who appears to be sulking, is quickly enraptured by his enthusiasm and friendliness.
And you too, are swiftly won over by his charm, nodding and laughing along. It’s so distracting, that you don’t notice how their muscular thighs on either side of you inch closer and closer to yours as the minutes tick by, and how all the alphas and omegas in the cafeteria watch the alpha pheromones spill into the air around you—-thickening it in a possessive display of ownership.
💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥
Over the next few weeks Bakugo and Kirishima get real comfortable with you, learning your schedule, walking you home and shit. And after they’d said goodbye, the boys would sit in their dorm room and talk about you. The outfit you wore that day. The new project you’d told them about. Your plans to hang out again this weekend. How that motherfucker Jason was always flitting around you like some cockroach. With each treasured interaction, they grew more and more obsessed.
You weren’t complaining though. In fact, you were pretty oblivious. They didn’t seem to mind that you were a beta, which had gotten in the way of friendships in the past, especially with alphas. They all just had this need for power…control even, and their lack of it over betas could be difficult to swallow for them at times. That’s why they were best paired with omegas. But Katsuki and Kiri? They didn’t seem to mind at all.
And you were beginning to not only expect their presence, but to welcome it. It became normal to walk the halls with one another, Eijiro’s arm slung around your shoulders and Kats carrying your bag for you. It kind of made you feel like a celebrity, being seen with them around campus. It was like…everybody knew you for some reason.
Sure, you’d get the occasional odd look. Sometimes it felt like everyone was talking about you, but you had no idea why. Have they never seen a group of friends before? Sheesh.
And speaking of weird, Jason has been acting off ever since you got close with the boys. He’d been hounding you to study and hang out relentlessly. He was constantly staring at you in class, to the point of uncomfortableness.
Although…maybe you hadn’t been the best friend to him. You should make more of an effort. Afterall, he was your closest confidant in your program, andddd still pretty cute. Splitting your time more evenly could be an easy solution to relieving some of the tension in your relationship!

You coming to froyo after class? - Kiri
Sorry! I gotta pass today :( - Y/N
Jason’s taking me to the aquarium! - Y/N

Jason grunted as he lifted the heavy box of supplies into his locker, shoving it into the lower portion of the metal compartment before slamming it closed with his full body weight. He’d had to stay late again, working on another project. The worst part is he couldn’t walk with you back to the dorms. He’s sure those alphas jumped on the opportunity to do it in his stead. Fucking pricks. What do they want with a beta like you anyway?
As he moves to pop his earbuds in, eager to finally go home, a hand slams down on the locker beside him, the loud clanging on the metal scaring the shit out of him. “Hey man, what the fu—”, he began to spew out, before looking up to see Bakugo and Kirishima towering over him.
“Hey,” Bakugo grunts out, “need to talk to you.”
Jason shifts nervously, choosing to focus his attention on Kirishima, before changing his mind. The red hair may appear less intimidating, but those shark teeth weren’t exactly welcoming.
“Uh, sure. Is everything alright?”
“No, actually, Jason, my man,” Kirishima shakes his head mockingly, “everything is not alright. You see,” he continues, inching closer and closer, “you’ve been sniffing around Y/N and it’s starting to get really fucking annoying.”
Jason tries and fails to contain the surprised look on his face at Kirishima’s attitude. He doesn’t think he’s ever seen the hero without a sickening grin on his face.
Bakugo rolls his eyes, “Please, you think we’re fucking stupid or something? It’s obvious that you want more.”
“Okay…sure,” Jason concedes, “I mean she’s sweet and funny. And it’s not like she’s hard on the eyes,” he jokes, lightly, “What’s so wrong about that?”
Kirishima sets a heavy hand on his shoulder, and Jason can feel the cords of muscle tensing, “What’s wrong with that is that -we- think she’s sweet and funny. In fact, that’s only a fraction of what we think.”
Jason swallows, catching his drift. “We-well wait. She’s a beta,” and although it’s a statement, Jason phrases it like a question, confused.
Bakugo snorts, placing his forearm on the lockers above Jason’s head, “So? That doesn’t mean shit to us. We don’t want some weak little omega that can’t handle Kiri and me. Someone who flinches when we speak to ‘em? Nah, we want her.”
Jason shifts uncomfortably under the intensity of their stares. “But what if…what if she doesn't want you back?”
Kirishima only smiled knowingly. “As if she has a choice.”
💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥
The three of you are hanging out in your dorm, listening to music and eating junk food. Well, you’re eating junk food while they watch. And after an afternoon of naturally gravitating closer and closer, you find yourself laying on your bed, with Katsuki on one side and Eijiro on the other.
“I don’t know why he’s not talking to me anymore. Ever since he crashed on his bike he hasn’t even looked at me in class,” you complain, explaining the issues you’d had with Jason the past week or so. “I even dropped off a ‘Get Well Soon’ basket at his dorm, but he wouldn’t even open his door. I just don’t know what I did wrong," you pout, practically near tears.
Kirishima sighed, “It’s not you, babes. That guy's an idiot and he’s taking your friendship for granted.”
“Yeah,” Bakugo agreed, “don’t waste your tears on him. You have us now anyways. Who needs the fucker?”
You flick Bakugo’s bicep, doing negative damage, “Don’t talk about him like that,” you correct, making the blonde roll his eyes.
“I don’t know why you’re defending him,” Kirishima complained, “he’s being such a dick.”
“Yeah, I know,” you admit, rubbing your arm sheepishly, “but he’s my friend, at the end of the day.”
Bakugo sits up on your mattress, observing you from above. “Just a friend?”
You frown at the implication. “Yeah, just a friend. Like you guys,” you say, gesturing to the two of them.
The two seem to react with annoyance. “Right, just like us,” Bakugo rumbles.
You sit up, confused, and Kiri follows suit. Bakugo has stood up from the bed and begun pacing the length of your room.
“You guys are acting weird. Are you okay?”
Bakugo stops in front of you. “No,” he responds, completely deadpan.
Noticing the surprise on your face, Kirishima brings up a palm to rub your back reassuringly. A few weeks ago the gesture may have been overly personal, but the two had grown so comfortable touching you, that you didn’t even flinch.
“Well since you brought it up, honey…” His hands graze the joint of your neck and shoulder, and the gesture registers as familiar in the back of your mind. That’s where an omega’s scent gland would be.
Bakugo finished his pack mate’s thought: “we’ve gotten pretty fucking tired of waiting.”
“Waiting?” you ask, your mind starting to feel fuzzy as Kiri massages your shoulders. “Waiting for what?”
You shook your head. “You can’t wait for me,” you exclaim passionately, “I’m a beta!”
Katsuki shrugged. “Don’t care.”
You push Kirishima off of you and rub your temples, trying to regain your bearings. “Well I care.”
Kirishima huffs at your rebuking him, and tries to pull you into his chest before you scramble away to the edge of the bed.
“I think…” you begin, gulping in air, “I think you guys need to leave.” The room seems to grow smaller and smaller as your eyes dart between them. You feel trapped, like prey. Two alphas cornering you.
“Make us then,” Katsuki mocks, sick humor seeping into his voice.
You turn away from him. He’s a lost cause. Your eyes plead Kirishima, begging him to be the more reasonable of the two, but your hopes are quickly squashed by Bakugo’s harsh laugh.
“Ya’ think Kiri’s gonna help you? He’s even crazier about you than I am.”
And you see it now, the crazed look in the red-head’s eyes. The one that screams obsession. The way he’s struggling to stop from activating his quirk as he reaches to pull you in again. How his gaze is darting from your face to your neck, practically mapping out where he wants to sink his teeth into you.
And that frightening grin of his split apart his face, revealing his pointed teeth. “Why’d you have to make us do it this way?”
And in your fear riddled mind, you hear the click of your dorm room locking, before Bakugo strides back to the bed.
