You know something I find absolutely baffling is Introductions/Forewords which describe the plot of the book, like that's a misplaced Afterword, if you're talking about what happens in the book you should leave it for after the reader has experienced the book.

Like barely any books have Afterwords but a lot have Forewords which should be Afterwords and I don't understand why the publishers can't just put them at the end as they should be doing.

First of all I would see selkie as a high complement either way.
