Örebro Castle is a historic castle located in the center of Örebro, Sweden. It stands on a small island in the Svartån river and has been an important defensive site since the Middle Ages.

The original fortress was built in the 13th century, probably during the reign of Magnus III of Sweden, to protect trade routes and control movement through the region. In the 16th century, the castle was expanded into a Renaissance-style royal residence under Gustav Vasa and his sons.

Örebro Castle also played a political role in Swedish history. Important meetings and national assemblies were held there, including events connected to the rise of Jean Baptiste Bernadotte in the early 19th century.

Râmeț Monastery survived invasions, political changes, and periods of destruction. In the 18th century, it suffered during conflicts connected to Habsburg rule and religious tensions in the region, but it was later restored.
